My Grandmother had retained Theresa prior to her death, there was no will and a ton of difficult situations caused by the family members. I was eventually appointed the Personal Representative because I gained nothing from the estate. Theresa helped me through every step of the way with a very complicated situation that involved multiple properties, large amounts of money and a lot of feelings between family members. She often talked me down from making emotional decisions to be as fair and equitable to all parties, even the ones that didn’t deserve such treatment due to clear theft. Ms. Kohlhoff was a wealth of knowledge and connections to get some property sold and repaired, she understands the neighborhood and process. Theresa even forwent some fees in order to complete the estate closure. Overall the process was long and arduous and I couldn’t imagine having anyone else in my corner, She told me what to expect and kept things moving along. I know at least one of the negative reviews here is from a family member of mine that was not represented by this firm and is only trying to be destructive to Theresa Kohlhoff because the outcome was not as they desired. I would recommend them to anyone facing a complicated family issue.

We found Ms. Kohlhoff to be sloppy — she emailed attachments from other clients’ cases to us not once, but twice — forgetful, and socially awkward. She didn’t inspire a lot of confidence. We will not return.

In my opinion I would not recommend this law office to anyone to handle estate matters. Errors in paperwork costing addition unnecessary costs. Executor was advised to work against family in many instances. Drug the process of liquidating assets out to 2 years. This was a horrific experience for the family to deal with.

If you are looking for an attorney to handle your familys estate steer clear of this office. Exorbitant fees, missed court filing dates, documents incorrect. She distanced the executor from the family in order to tear up the family to take sides. Would not wish what happened to us on anyone. Estate was drug on for 2 years while the bill just kept getting bigger. over 70K went to the attorney and executor. If you don’t care that they will get a huge portion of your estate and do not follow the Oregon State Bar guidelines for handling a large estate they are you gals!
