Lady Luck Tattoo Studio

I got my first tattoo on Mother’s Day in honor of my mom, Bea, who passed this year. I didn’t really know what to expect in the way of design and the process of the tattooing, but David deftly designed an awesome bumblebee and placed it on the inside of my wrist. I’m so happy with David’s artistry and implementation. Super nice guy and made me feel really comfortable.

I needed a new belly button and tongue ring and hopped on the bus to this place because it on the website, Unilocal,google, and even on their own sign it said it was open until 10pm daily. Highly disappointed when I got there at 9pm and it was closed! If they changed their hours, they need to let people know!

Mine was a simple but elegant and most important well planned… as for Jason spontaneous is what he got… but he was very professional. We will keep him.

Went in as a walk in with my mom, we were looking to get matching tattoos, walked up to the counter and waited for anyone to acknowledge us. After bullshitting behind the counter This guy sluggishly walked over «do you need something?» We showed him the piece (a traditional rose) we wanted and he began criticizing it and said he would change the whole thing because it wasn’t his style, and that the piece would need to be his work. I got a bad vibe here my mom wanted to try and work it out I told her we could find better service and probably better artwork elsewhere.

Went to Lady Luck to spend some money. Had three tattoo ideas and instantly felt unwelcome — immediately walked out the door. Don’t care about the potential quality of the tattoo — no way I’d give any money to a room full of condescending a-​holes riddled with some of the worst ink I’ve seen in Portland. RUN. If their attitude is any indication to the quality in their work, I’d sooner scrape off my own skin then be stuck with their miserable aura of repulsive attitudes for all eternity.

Acted put out about us being there. Not very friendly as well as bossy. Made the experience very uncomfortable for us. The long red haired lady was nice to us tho.

Obviously highly profiled against went in to Lady Luck to support a friend getting a tattoo not only were they VERY rude. I was not allowed to go past the desk to watch my friend get tattooed. 20 minutes later a girl walks in with her 2 friends and the 2 friends were allowed to go behind the desk and watch their friend get a tattoo. Besides that they charged 60 dollars for a tattoo that was the size of a quarter with no detail what so ever. The tattoo turned out good but for 60 dollars I would expect a lot more detail or a much bigger tattoo.

My experience with Lady Luck was amazing. I came in for a walk in and was received very kindly by the woman working the front desk. David was the artist avaliable and he did an amazing job! I would recommend this place to any one looking to get a tattoo. Comfortable environment with some really cool people.

Jason was my tattoo artist. He applied some drawings that I did… Brought in already traced out. They were similar to his style of flash design that he seems to do a lot of, is why I feel he went along with doing them. And they were nicely drawn too, by me :)
It was an enjoyable experience and I would/​will totally get more from him in the future. I LOVE MY NEW TATTOOS
These people aren’t patient though and even though it’s going to be permanent on YOUR body they seem a little pushy even if you come in fully prepared. Honestly I would recommend doing lots of research and having plenty of images and maybe someone draw stuff for you before going in. Understanding that an artist will possibly apply their style but knowing what you want and not budging if it comes down to certain things you need, within reason. If your feelings get hurt easily you should probably go down to Division and just pay for that hip shit.

I was very pleased with my experience here. They accepted me as a walk in late on a Friday. Everyone here was friendly and nice. The studio was very clean. Jason was my artist. He did a fantastic job. It was a very small piece and very simple but he took his time to prepare and give me quality work despite the simplistic design. The only thing I didn’t like was that they only accept cash. That would have been good to know while I was waiting. There are MANY bank atms within walking distance so it isn’t a huge issue to get cash.

My tattoo artist was very nice, but that didn’t make up for the bad quality of the tattoo. I would’ve rather had him be the biggest a-​hole in the planet and given me a good tattoo rather than be nice with bad work. All I got at this tattoo studio was a small word. The lines were completely crooked and ever letter looked way different although they were intended to all be identical. I paid $ 90 for a bunch of jagged lines basically. I was pretty disappointed to be truthful :/​Hopefully I can get it fixed.

Was very disappointed with experience paid a deposit for an appointment then found out they couldn’t do the tattoo but kept my money anyway do not go there if u want a custom tattoo

From start to finish, my experience at Lady Luck has been phenomenal.
I came here for my first ever tattoo and had absolutely no clue what to expect. Luckily, Isaac (my tattoo artist) and the staff here walked me through the process step by step and made sure I had a good understanding of what to expect. I had an idea for a tattoo and pitched it to Isaac. He was excited about and assured me he would come up with a badass design. Looking at his previous work, I had complete faith in him and new he would come up with something awesome.
Come the day of the tattoo Isaac again was really great at walking me through the process. I felt completely relaxed the whole time and the tattoo turned out great! It’s still healing at the moment but I’m loving it so far and already thinking about the next one to get with Isaac!

Yet again another stellar review for Laura! Had my lady head done 4 wks ago and was the quickest healing tattoo I’ve had yet! Healed in 2 weeks! Everyone that has a chance to see her marvels. Can’t wait for more art from Laura!

My experience here was poor. The customer service was excellent. everyone was nice and seemed to go out of their way for us. However the quality of the small tattoos that I got were terrible. I got a small crescent moon on my finger that is completely uneven and faded out badly. The artist offered a free touch up even. I’m not going to take him up on the offer.

I got my tattoo done by Laura.
She was fantastic. Not only a good artist but generally a very nice person. She was so patient with me since this was my first BIG tattoo. The receptionist even went to the corner store to get trail mix for me! Overall just a great experience and I will be back for more.

Last minute decision to get a tattoo with a friend. The staff was pretty supportive with our nerves and have us a good deal since our tattoos were so small. However, the overall vibe of the staff and shop kind of gave off a «too cool» attitude and felt like they were there to work and then leave. The quality of the work was nice, considering my tattoo was very simple and overall it was an ok experience. I’d prefer to shop around next time before I would result in going back to Lady Luck.

I don’t understand the negative «I’m too cool attitude» of tattoo shops in general.
Visiting from out of town my boyfriend had looked up many places and decided on this one. He even found a guy he wanted to do it based not the work he had seen off line. We called a day before to see if said artist would be in he next day and if we needed to make an appointment. We were told he had nothing on the books so just to walk in whenever and if he had an appointment we might have to wait.
We took our chances and just walked in around 1 o’clock.
This is EXACTLY how the conversation went with the man at the front.
boyfriend: Hi is artist name in?
man at front: No
silence…
boyfriend:Okay well will he be in later?
man at front: *shrugs* I don’t know? probably? why?
silence…
by then I can tell this is not going anywhere so I step in and proceed to let him know we called yesterday and were told to walk in.
man at front: are you guys his friends or something?
me: no were from out of town and we loved his work online and were hoping to get something done. we were told to walk in today.
man at front: well he’s at home so I guess I can call him and you guys can come back maybe around 5…
Already disappointed we would be waiting not for him to finish another client but wait for him to just show up we still decided to take the appointment.
We were told to email the artist a picture of what we wanted and he would get back to us with a quote.
We left a 20 dollar deposit to hold the spot for 5 o’clock that the artist may or not be there for.
With no response back from the artist and the man at the front basically not caring about the business he is representing the vibe was bad enough for us to forfeit the 20 dollars and cancel the appointment.
It was a pretty big shame since we were excited to get work done from him.

I went in on a Monday hoping to get a cover up done. Everywhere else wanted to do it for me in a couple weeks. But I needed it done asap. Tattoo artist Jason was in that day and was able to draw up an awesome design. I was tattooed the next day. I’m extremely happy with my results. Jason is amazing! I will no longer have anyone else touch me. All my artwork will only be done here, and by Jason!

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed Marcii and her Lady Luck Tattoo Studio. I mean Marcii did my first tattoo 15 years ago if not longer. And she’s done my next 3 including 2 completely original art pieces.
Like everyone else has commented the staff is all great, friendly, professional in a relaxed sort of way, and yes fun. They’ll talk about anything from the gossip you used to hear in beauty parlors or barbershops, to sports or politics. But the main topics seem to be tattoos (duh!) and food, both of which are near and dear to my heart.
Well now I’ve got my 5^th tattoo, an original art piece by Chad that compliments an earlier tattoo by Marcii and I’m really happy with it. I’ve watched Jeanine work and the girls got skills. And obviously I love Marciis work and now am impressed by Chads as well.
Would I take my blind 90 year old mother here… not on your friggin life! But I will recommend it to any and all who are looking for some great, quality art that you can be proud of for the rest of your life.
