The biscuits are the perfect crispness on the outside and softness on the inside… paired simply with jam and butter or with one of their delicious soups– I recommend anytime! I can’t forget the pies! A great place to order a pie for a special occasion, I had now a few times– all have been crowd pleasers!

The coffee is great, the walnut honey pie is very good and the strawberry short pie (strawberry short cake… except a pie) is amazing, it’s worth going there just for a slice of strawberry short pie in my opinion. A great desert spot after an evening of dinner and/​or drinks along Division. Rolls and other non-​pie offerings I’ve had are very good as well.

I would give negative stars now if I could. This employee has been harassing me on Unilocal ever since I left my review, only validating my horrible experience. Hope they read this and train better staff, because the pie was not bad at all, but when you are mistreated it can leave a sour taste in your mouth that no sweets can cover up. The TRUTH sometimes hurts.

Best damn pie I have had in a while! The salted honey pie is to die for & the ice cream on top pushes you over the edge.
I have been back multiple times. It’s a nice alternative to waiting in line at Salt & Straw. There are tables outside so you can enjoy your sweet treat outdoors!

I wish I would have read Unilocal reviews before ordering. My best friend’s birthday party was last night and she wanted key lime pie instead of cake. Turns out that’s a pretty tall order this time of year, but I found Lauretta Jean’s and was very excited that they could do own for me with less than 24 hours notice.
They called me yesterday to tell me that I’d need to pick it up at the Division location (not a big deal because I live on the east side). While on the phone, I asked how much the pie was…$ 34! Wow… ok…must be some great pie.
I came to pick it up, and all I can say is that the pie looked like something a Home Ec class would put together.
When we went to cut it, it completely fell apart. We literally had to spoon it out of the pie pan.
The upside is that it was the best key lime pie my husband and I have ever tasted, but NOT worth the price.

Excellent pie! Their Salted Honey is very sweet, one slice will do, but every bite is oh so good. Crust is difficult to cut, well at least with a plastic fork (I took mine to go), but it’s layered and flaky. I haven’t had anything like it elsewhere and I love it the way it is; just need the right utensil!
The location is prime, down the street from other foodies so you can end up here ending on a sweet note. The inside atmosphere is really homey and charming. If I were a local, I’d love coming in the afternoon and evening to relax with a book or friends and of course a slice of incredible pie.

Oh my coconut cream pie, how I love you. Your flaky crust, you toasted coconut & almond shreads sprinkled on top.

Lauretta Jean’s is justifiably well-​known for their delicious pies. I know this for sure because I’ve been there a number of times to get a slice of pie for dessert. My favorite there is coconut cream pie, which I think is unbeatable. Anyway, in addition to pies, they make all kinds of different baked goods. I am especially fond of their scones. They’re great for taking along with me. Lauretta Jean’s scones aren’t triangular shaped like a lot of scones usually are. Theirs are spiral shaped kind of like a cinnamon roll, but they do have the great CRUNCH that great scones have. I especially like the ones that have berries in them.. .doesn’t even matter what kind of berry, because they’re all good.

I love pie. And I really want to love Loretta Jean’s — after all, they serve my favorite, tart cherry, and make the most amazing honey hazelnut pie. Seriously, it’s some decadent sweet n salty honey nut cheerios business. And it’s so good.
But this isn’t my favorite pie place. 1. The prices are too high for the size of the slices. 2. I came here for brunch one time, and they had all of the tables except for one tiny spot and counter seats blocked off as «reserved,» and no one came in that entire time to sit there so any guests were all crowded at the counter for probably an hour, and no one cared to explain why. 3. At brunch, I’ve had the maple sausage biscuit and the sausage cheddar biscuit sandwiches. Both were just off in some way — egg overcooked on one, cheese hard and cold on the other. And for $ 5 or $ 6, they were pretty small.
With a couple of small changes (more attention to food, better portions or lower prices), I’d give Loretta Jean’s more stars, because the overall quality is still really good. And because of that honey hazelnut pie.

Adorable place with quick service, and very delicious biscuits and jam. I’ll be back to try other breakfast options, and to try other pies; we tried to lemon ginger, which was good but the lemon flavor was too overpowering for me, while the brown butter apple walnut was perfectly delicious. They also have an espresso and cocktail menu with decent prices for the area worth trying.

My sister and I decided to treat ourselves for some pies for the special occasion. They had a special for 5 slices for $ 20. We’ve never been here before though have pasted by it many times.
It’s a cute little brick and mortar and surprising busy for being a weekday. They had some pies place on display right in front of you and some behind the counter which made it very difficult to read what flavors were available. There was no prices place on display but from reading other reviewers it cost $ 4.50 per slice. I have to say it is expensive for just a slice of pie especially when the slices are not that big. I would have image it would cost $ 3.25 — $ 3.50 per slice.
We had 1 S’more, 1 Lemon Meringue, 1 Key Lime, and 2 Harvest Apple. The pies are nothing spectacular, though I don’t eat pies much often, but these did not WOW either of us.
I don’t think we’d return back again…

Soup was good, not great and luke warm. One of the savory pies was served warm on the outside and cold on the inside.
Very cute spot, very Portland. Lots of little side items for purchase.
Definitely one to consider when on a first date.

Cute place with half booth, half chair set up. I would say about 7 – 8 tables and high top bar tables at each of the windows. Fresh flowers on all the tables.
This is the perfect place to sit back, relax, and get some work done (free wifi) or to bring a date after dinner.

My friend and I decided on the lemon gingersnap, tart cherry, and the chocolate chess.
Pie is $ 4.50 a slice or $ 3.50 during pie happy hour.
He got an espresso and I got a hot jasmine tea.
(They have other beverage options: drip coffee, soda, hot chocolate etc.)
Yum, Yum, Yum but seriously yum.
Chocolate chess tasted like under cooked brownie batter that was the texture of flan. Yes, that is a good thing. It was amazing.
The lemon gingersnap was our favorite. It was super lemony, light, and refreshing. The gingersnap wasn’t overpowering and went well with the lemony cloud of deliciousness.
The tart cherry pie was good. If we ate just that we would have thought wow that is a awesome cherry pie which it was but in comparison to the others it was just good.
Also I’m not sure who picks the music selection but it was on point. It was alternative/​punk rock throw backs. Green day, sum 41, simple plan etc. Brought me back to my early high school days.
I got the pie punch card because well, I will definitely be back for some more tasty pie!

There is a such thing as pie Happy Hour between 5−7pm, and I hit it with my Chinook coupon 2 – 1. Loved, loved loved the hazelnut pie which was a pecan pie southern style with our PNW filberts. Served with vanilla ice cream, it was the favorite. The caramel apple was also divine, and both had delectable crusts. I made the mistake of getting the child the salted caramel brownie in which his eyes were bigger than his belly and a quarter of it was enough to put him in a sugar rage asking for pie instead. It was way too rich.
Noticed there is light lunch served like quiche and kale caesar salad, so I will be back for more than just the pie.

Came here an hour before it closed and this cute shop offers a variety of pies and desserts for a semi steep price of ~$ 4 a slice. However, I wish I could come here again during the happy hour where pies are believed to be $ 3 or $ 1 off: p. Anyways I came here for dessert after a family dinner and the service here was fine. I ended up ordering the Salted Pecan and the Chocolate Chess slices. The salted pecan was interesting and i thought the saltiness part of the pie was a tad bit overwhelming. The pecans part was great though. The chocolate chess was really sweet for me and I did not enjoy it as much as the other slice. I wish the bakery had some sort of tasting because a lot of these pies LOOK great, but it’s hard to tell if you really like them. I consider this place to be pricey (slices ~$ 4+) and would only return here during the happy hour.

We’ve had great experiences here in the past with quiche and pies but we’re let down on Thanksgiving.
Ordered and paid ahead, still had to wait in line 40 minutes on Thanksgiving day for pick up… ok that’s fine.
The cherry pie was burnt. We should have checked before we left but with such a great experience in the past… Well the cherry pie was overcooked, dark brown and just not tasty. We threw ½ out. It should have never been handed out. At $ 40 a pop, we should expect more.
The chocolate pie was very good but I think they’ve priced themselves out for us. Baking myself next time.
I’m sure we’ll be back for a meal but no longer mooney eyed over the place.

Stopped by this joint the Sunday before last and was so excited to have a biscuity breakfast. We had just come from St. Honore, but were looking for something more to fill the belly. Lauretta Jean’s answered the call!
Pecan sticky bun — loved everything about it, including how it wasn’t dry and bland on the inside. There was deliciousness everywhere.
Plain biscuit — both with butter and with strawberry jam, this thing was amazing.
Biscuits and gravy — OMG.
Bacon and pea shoots quiche — very yummy, with a wonderfully flaky crust.
My only knock on them is that it took an incredibly long time for our food to come, so much so that two in our group were worried about getting to the airport too late. I guess since most stuff we ordered is already made, it would be a quick (ish) matter of heating it up or putting on the gravies/​jams and calling it a day. But I think it took 30 minutes, which I wasn’t expecting. Next time I go back, when I’m in Portland, I’ll know that I might have to wait and will make sure no one is worried about missing a flight afterward.

Although all the ones I’ve tried were delicious, the BANANA CREAM pie was PERFECT, and I usually don’t even like bananas! It avoids the common pitfalls of being too sweet and/​or having an overwhelming banana flavor.
They usually have about a dozen flavors from which to choose (divided fairly evenly between refrigerated cream pies, fruit pies, and nutty pies) and a couple types of quiche if you’re looking for a more savory snack.
Don’t forget HAPPY HOUR from 5−7pm EVERY DAY (pie slices are only $ 3.50 and drink specials, too), they have free Wi-​Fi internet, and both indoor & outdoor seating, making it a very decent place to read, study, or hangout!

Music here is sublime!!! Cute southern charm place with weak WIFI… But the simplicity and the hushed air of sophistication with delicate patois, laptops, and genteel reading folk make me feel right at home!
Her pies have a granola streusel topping– bit on the too tart side for me, the slice O raspberry blackberry that will fortify me for the walk west to Ladd’s Addition
