Business Owner

Lion Heart Kombucha is owned and operated by Jared and Amanda Englund. It’s brewed and named after their Lion Heart baby Lev, who inspired them to teach Kombucha brewing classes and later open a Kombucha brewery.

We at LHK are on a mission to make the highest quality, best tasting probiotic tea possible using sustainable business practices. All of our ingredients are organic, we take bottles for deposit, and brew only in top-​quality stainless steel wine fermenters.

If you haven’t tried Kombucha, or you’ve tried it and didn’t like it, Lion Heart will probably change the way you feel about it. It tastes great, maybe not the first sip (if you’re not used to it) but the second and then all the rest. My favorite is Mountain Raspberry. I’m not crazy about ginger and many of their flavors have ginger in them. But the strawberry and raspberry are so delicious and I have to admit… they make me feel good.

This place is super cute. The brewery is located in a cute little coffee shop! We got a coffee and a Kombucha with a berry flavor. It was very good! The environment of the coffee shop is nice and quiant. Perfect for catching up with a friend over a glass of kombucha!

I’ve drank ALOT of kombucha through the years. From New York, to Asheville, to Portland… I’ve tried them all! And Lionheart is absolutely at the top of my list. Lion Heart brews kombucha as nature would have intended. (Not packed with sugar like G. T’s sodapop of a beverage COUGH COUGH) Smooth and mellow, I can drink without fear; knowing full-​well that my tummy will not feel acidic or upset post-​drink! (I’ve even found that it has been helping my ulcers heal!) Most of Lion Heart’s line is sugar-​free or super low in naturally occurring sugars found in the fresh local fruit it’s brewed with. All of the flavours are wonderful –with subtle hints of each of their ingredients. My favourite is definitely the Blueberry Ginger.

LOVE this stuff! Love the fact that there is 0 grams of sugar per bottle (as opposed to 10 – 20 grams in other brands) I LOVE the Oregon Strawberry and Chai flavors… YUM! Definitely a great taste that’s not vinegary or to sugary like lots of others… LOVE the logo as well, but maybe that’s because I’m a Leo… ;)
But PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring back the resealable bottles! I don’t drink a whole bottle in one sitting… and I don’t feel safe throwing the new bottle back in my bike bag after its been opened…

This is the best bottled kombucha I’ve ever had. It is smooth and has a perfect balance of flavors. My favorite is the lavender lemonade. It’s so good we now sell Lion Heart at our massage practice. The owners are also very helpful and friendly.

Things I love about their Kombucha style: it has a softer flavor, there are a variety of flavors to choose from, and it consistently helps me feel great. Did I mention they perpetually have a seasonal flavor or two available? Love it!
I just visited their new storefront this weekend for a grand opening, and they are a lt of fun too. Kombucha on tap for a glass or to fill a growler too! Know that the space is small and cozy, but full of all their Kombuchas. I tried a Pear Ginger from the tap & it was glorious… I’ll be back for a fill up soon!

I’m still learning about the wonders of kombucha and am starting to develop a taste for the differences between brands. I first had Lion Heart at Off The Griddle (best cart ever) and I was blown away! It tasted so different than the others I’d gotten used to, and I mean that in the best possible way. It still had that kombucha taste, but just… different. A little less sweet than most others. The ginger variety will punch you right in the kisser, then the cranberry kind will give your face a hug afterward.

This kombucha is amazing! I have drank buch in the past for all the health benefits but I didn’t always enjoy it. Lion Heart is really smooth and tasty. It doesn’t burn your esophagus like some of those other brands. It is really balanced. Now they have this new flavor, Lavender Lemonade which is SO GOOD, it makes me feel all sunny inside! I recommend buying it by the case because you will definitely want more.

i love this company– the owners and the product! lion heart is the best kombucha i have tried. it’s light and fresh and fruity– not too vinegary or strong. my kids love it too. my favorite thing about it is that it is UNpasteurized, so it is full of beneficial gut cultures, and it is naturally carbonated unlike some other kombucha brewers who pasteurize and add carbonation– totally defeats the point, in my opinion.

Lion Heart Kombucha is one of my favorite things about living in Portland! It is available at local Portland Food Co-​ops, some food carts, and becoming more available at area grocery markets. I love drinking the booch, it will cure what ails ya and is super yummy! Lion Heart has great flavors of cranberry, pomegranate, ginger, lychee, and the cool, refreshing lavender lemonade. I personally favor the herbal, fruity, Hero’s Blend. Give it a try, LH brews one mean booch!

As far as I’m concerned this is the BEST kombucha on the planet! Not too sweet, just right, makes you feel great and tastes amazing. I have never tried a flavor I didn’t like and I am so excited to try the new lavender lemonade flavor. I gave some to my aunt who doesn’t usually drink kombucha and she loved it! If you see this stuff, buy it! I definitely recommend it to all my friends!
