Mabel & Zora is located in the Pearl District of Portland. Our clothing boutique is designed with the theme «Doris Day goes to Palm Springs.» Step back in time where boutiques were a glamorous experience, customer service went above & beyond and shopping was a special treat. From the music to the lighting, we have created a wonderful ambiance filled with the latest in designer clothing in a variety of price ranges, there is truly something for everyone.

We carry many designers including: Trina Turk, Diane Von Furstenberg, James Perse, Michael Stars, and Nic + Zoe. Mabel & Zora also exclusively carries Tiffany Bean Designs, and other local Portland designers.

We invite you to come visit our bright and colorful store! We get new inventory every week, so there will always be something new for you to check out. We are locally owned and operated since 2006, we are proud to be a part of the vibrant boutique scene in Portland.

History

Established in 2006.

Mabel and Zora opened in the Summer of 2006 and has been voted Portland’s Best Boutique almost every year in business by various entities. Mabel & Zora was designed after Doris Day and James Bond movies and has a vintage aesthetic to the shop while specializing in clothing, jewelry, accessories as well as gift items from a carefully curated group of designers. With almost a decade of success we look forward to many more years serving Portland!

I have worked in retail for over 10 years, starting with furniture and finding my way to fashion. I love fashion, decorating and almost anything mid-​century (ranch homes, clothing, colors, tv shows, platforms, Brigitte Bardot Bangs…). After having the store open for 2 weeks, I told my husband, «we’re going to need to hire someone.» He asked if it could be him, so he quit his job as a cook, started working at the store and in the last 3 years has morphed into this amazing-​fashionista-​man. After living with «chef pants» for 10 years, I never knew he could know so much about high-​fashion or have such a good sense of style. We are having a blast, love playing dress-​up with our customers and hope to be able to do this forever.

Ahhhh, I love this store. When Portland’s dreary weather’s has me down, Mabel & Zora’s cheery interior and friendly staff are like a soothing elixir to my soul.
This is the best clothing store in the Pearl District for dresses, cute tops, little sweaters and skirts. In fact, I bought my favorite skirt EVER (a Weston Wear) here!
The owner, Tiffany, is THE sweetest, most genuine shopkeeper I’ve ever met, and I can’t say enough good things about her store. I never leave empty handed (and that’s a good thing, because I know I’m supporting a local business)!!

One of my must stops in the Pearl District! A well edited collection of top designers such as Trina Turk, Equipment, Tart, and Diane Von Furstenburg. I love how they have everything you need there including lingerie, hoisery, and even Spanx. I always find the cutest dresses there too! One of the owners are usually there and are so helpful. Add M&Z to your «must list» when shopping in the Pearl. Beautiful store full of timeless classics and great staples like Hanky Panky & Michael Stars. Oh and I love being able to find Grayling Jewelry on the westside too. Anytime I need a stand-​out necklace, Mabel & Zora always has the hookup.

I live downtown and work downtown, but shopping downtown frightens me. Being a single mama, most of the Pearl dress shops are just too rich for my wallet. I work just blocks from Mabel and Zora, and I was in a last minute crunch for a dear friend’s birthday present. I decided to check out what Mabel and Zora had to offer, and I was not scared off. I got my friend a gorgeous necklace for $ 50. I took a quick look around and there were expensive dresses but also dresses I could afford. I took note, said, «I will be back!»
Cut to a couple weeks later and I had an event to go to. I realized I was out of time to run home and change. I thought, just maybe something in their little shop would work. When I walked in a man was at the counter… I almost turned around and walked out. I wanted that nice lady that helped me find my friend’s necklace. I told him I would come back when she was there. He assured me he was her husband and very adept at helping pick out dresses because, as he put it «I do this for a living». Okay — let’s give this guy a shot. I embarrassingly confessed what my budget was, and I told him I was sure they probably didn’t have anything in my price range. He immediately walked me to a rack and showed me a couple of dresses I loved instantly, and then off to the sales rack where I picked through on my own. With his assistance I picked a dress that earned me loads of compliments all night long. They got so much advertising that night, because everyone wanted to know where I got my dress. The bow on top was they have a whole rack dedicated to Spanx — so my tights, butt and more lumps were covered too!
This is my favorite shop for dresses. I love both owners and I am now a regular.

I went in a few weeks ago and got the cutest Lilly Pulitzer earrings and a heavenly smelling Voluspa candle.

Mabel and Zora is a gem hidden in the Pearl District. This place never fails to please with its whimsical window displays, enchanting home décor and tasteful selection. There’s always an overwhelming (in a good way) attention to detail and I could roam for hours just exploring.
There are many reasons why this is my go-​to boutique. For one, aside from the other amazing selections from Trina Turk and Lilly Pulitzer, there are the wonderful designs of proprietress Tiffany Bean. She is a true fashion treasure, whose designs are made to fit a real woman (with curves!) I love my Mrs. Robinson dress. .. oh, by the way, it’s so easy to purchase online, and if they don’t have your size, they will make every effort to accommodate you!
My other love for this store is the unique shopping experience is provides. Every time I walk in I feel like I have been transported to a place of fashionable serenity. The sale staff never pressure you, and you are free to roam for as long as your heart desires without feeling rushed. They are always willing to give you advice if you ask too!

Ok, so I just wanted to write a review because this place is adorable and has great customer service. I haven’t bought any clothes here or even had enough time to check out their clothes selection. So why am I writing a review right?! What brought me in here in the first place was that they carry VOLUSPA candles. Mada Beauty has them burning in the salon and I got a VOLUSPA candle before and haven’t had much luck finding them around town, except at Mada Beauty the receptionist told me I could walk two blocks down and go to Mable and Zora because they carry them! YES! This brand of candles is AMAZING. And the girl that works there, I forgot her name, is so sweet and adorable. She was oh so patient with me as I smelt every candle they had, and genuinely friendly. These candles are on the pricier side because they are so f@*# amazing its worth it.

This is hands-​down the best boutique in Portland. Warm, personal shopping assistance that is always honest and helpful is complemented by an awesome selection at reasonable prices. This is my favorite Portland store — I’ve been going here for 7 years!
When I left Portland, this boutique was high on the list of «places i will miss» — fortunately for me they ship to me in Phoenix with no sales tax and no shipping costs. Tiffany keeps an eye out and sends me dresses once in a while to look at and never minds going over inventory with me to see if there’s a good outfit for a special occasion. Service above and beyond, every time — go see them if you need a new outfit!

Nice try with the damage control, Tiffanee. There was no misunderstanding. I’ve read a couple other reviews on other sites from women who had the same experience with your husband not accepting a return and making a sarcastic statement out loud as they walked out of the store. It’s distrurbing. This is the part where your actions come back to haunt you!

Really sweet shop and helpful owners. I can always find cute dresses, even if I’m not looking. The selection is great and not too expensive. Perfect work clothes for me. Only drag is during the summer all the folks bringing their kids to the park make it hard to close in.

In all seriousness, this boutique is wonderful (see, I do know other adjectives ;)). It’s headed by a husband and wife team, half of which was in the shop on the day I went in; Corey, who was very friendly. The pieces, while still expensive, are not outrageously priced. You get the bang for your buck.
I knew that most of the jewelry had come from local artists when I walked through the door, but if I needed proof, one of the artists/​designers came in while I was there. She was equally delightful!
I had such a fun time at Mabel and Zora. I will be back on my future visits to the West Coast!

I shopped here for the first time today, and I am in love. Coming from the East coast, they carry the designers I love and crave. They have the cutest dresses that fit my body well, and Cory was super friendly when I came into the store. I found a great pair of jeans, and tried on a dress and super cute coat. I will make sure to stop in here often, as the owner is working on her own line and from what I saw, the dresses are adorable! They carry a nice range of clothing that is typically expensive (Milly) to more affordable. I will be back :)

This is one of my favorite dress shops in Portland. (They also sell jeans and accessories.) I’ve purchased three dresses that I adore and that I love wearing. I almost don’t want to write a review because I’m afraid the «secret will get out» and then there won’t be any dresses left for me! But they’re so good, I want them to get the business they deserve.
The owners are sweet and very friendly. I’ve always been impressed with the staff. They are willing to give you an honest opinion on how the garments look. There’s none of that «You’re a vision! I’m going to weep! Cash or credit?» bullshit that I’ve experienced elsewhere. Of course they want to sell clothes but they also want you to make a good purchase.
May I just say that I love that they have heels in each dressing stall so that you can see what the dresses look like when you’re not in sneakers? (I like to shop in comfort. So sue me.) What a great idea.
I was sad to read that the Alberta store is closing. I hope the Pearl store prospers!

Walking into Mabel and Zora my mind clicked back a few years to a class field trip to Chicago.
Young, irresponsible, and hopelessly lost undergrads, our sleep deprived and wired on caffeine /​booze selves somehow ended up on the iconic Magnificent Mile. «Uhoh» we thought on that memorable February afternoon. Bundled up in our bright and (from what we quickly learned) very Northwesty sportswear jackets we stuck our like sore thumbs in the sea of pea coats and posh. These stores were not our type and we had a whole 5280 feet of public right of way to get through before things became a little more comfortable.
So when I stepped in the door here in the Pearl District I got that same uneasy feeling. Is it okay that my non-​yuppy-​pearl-​going self be here? I don’t even have a little dog in a matching jacket attached at my hip. Yet a friendly hello from the gal behind the counter let me know I had nothing to fear as I looked through the racks full of end of summer dresses and tops.
My short trip concluded with purchasing a couple pretty little accessories that didn’t break the bank! I promised myself that I’d go back when their fall or winter lines arrived later on this year.
I bet at that time I’ll be able to find something even more magnificent than anything on Michigan Avenue.

As if I needed one more excuse to peer lustfully at your accessories, to drool over your flowy summer dresses, to obsess about your fresh candle scents, or to falisfy extensive trips in order to spend an odd amount of time holding your luggage — you go and open your new store within walking distance of my home.
Fan-​friggin-​tastic. The river didn’t keep me away from your Alberta location… so what exactly are you trying to prove MZ? Is this some sort of test of discipline? Or perhaps a Portlander’s version of Temptation Island? Because let me just state for the record: YOU WIN.
I’m not even going to try to resist your fresh funky style. Yes… I will give in on a near daily basis and tithe religiously. I will pronounce my undeniable love for everything in your store, including your employees.
You’ve given me the Pearl, but you had me at Alberta.
