Meier & Frank Building

This building is sometimes referred to as alternatively Meier & Frank Building and Meier & Frank Square. It is very different inside now then it used to be, It used to have 10 floors of shopping plus the basements, with the companies offices on top. I remember riding up escalators (at least in my memories they had wood on them), that got narrower as you went higher up to see the Santaland high up on the 10^th floor, across from the great Georgian Room. They used to sell about everything but slowly scaled back, abandoning whole floors. Today the first few floors are a Macy’s and the top a hotel.
Fun Fact: Clark Gable once worked here selling ties
It was added to thee National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
