History

Established in 2014.

Merwin’s was named after our Grandfather, an avid hunter and fisherman here in the Great Pacific Northwest. He is reflected in our branding, and in the «can do» spirit we carry with us everywhere we go. We are proud to be a woman-​owned business in a male dominated industry, but our goal is to be inclusive and welcoming to everyone.

I brought my mom in here this past weekend to start her on her path to quit smoking. She tried going the vape route a couple years ago. She walked into another shop in Vancouver and felt uncomfortable. No one really wanted to help and she felt as though the employees were irritated she was even there. Fast forward to now. June was amazing! She sat down with mom and took the time to explain everything. My mom was instantly at ease. June didn’t try to sell her something expensive just to make a sale. She got her started with just what she needs. She truly cares about her customers! Mom will be a repeat customer for sure!

June is a gem and a wonderful vape host. She is happy to let you try any of the juices she has as testers and she’s got a lot!
I love the shop because it’s comfortable and has a beautiful aesthetic. You feel like you’re in someone’s very pretty home. The décor has a vintage feel while trying her extensive juice selection.
Doesn’t have the bro feel at all which has led me away from going into most vape shops. I feel comfortable here like I will be treated well. I don’t know much about vaping and June was happy to answer all of my questions.
There’s a punch card used there too which is cool.

Disclaimer…I haven’t really had a bad vape shop experience. Folks in the community here are all pretty helpful, so bad experiences largely come down to lack of stock and staff hitting on hot newb vapors…
Merwin’s still bucks the trend in a few ways…
1. June is… uhhh…the embodiment of integrity? I don’t know. You talk to her and you know you aren’t getting any bullshit. Period. And that is refreshing!!!
2. I need to word this correctly so as not to be insulting… Have you ever walked in to a gas station that had an impressive vape selection (like, really impressive?)… Merwin’s is like that, but replace the gas station with a super cool vintage shop that you ACTUALLY want to be at.
3. As I said before… I love pdx vape culture. Sometimes however, I don’t want to roll into a shop where ten friends of the person behind the counter are blowing such dense clouds that I can’t see my own hands… even if they’re all super nice… which is kinda what I feel like every shop is like now days…
Which is to say… Merwin’s is COMFORT and INTEGRITY for everyone… newb to o.g.

Such a cute shop! The owner was so nice and welcoming to me. I’m trying to fully quit smoking and she spent over an hour helping me out because I am new to vaping. She also let my little dog come with me which is a huge plus!
The prices are reasonable, and she will take her time finding you the perfect match. Also there are tons of vintage eye candy for you to ogle over if she needs to help another customer. I particularly liked the vintage lighters.
I’m a loyal customer from now on!

Before today I had never vaped but was interested (strictly to quit smoking, not for the culture or hobby) so I set aside 4 hours to explore vape shops and familiarize myself with vaping. It turns out I only needed 30 minutes and 1 shop; Merwins. June (the owner) was incredibly honest and informative. She knew my budget and stuck within it, never once attempting to upsell. She had several other customers come in while she was helping me and she managed to greet everyone. Great environment, prices, products and service.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. My husband and I have been to a ton of vape stores in Portland. Most of the stores are «bro-​dominated», inconsistent (found a good flavor and then it’s unavailable for months), or overpriced. We finally found OUR store and love everything about it. June, the owner, is extremely knowledgable and welcoming. We didn’t feel pushed to buy anything and I would hands down just go there to hang out. She’s such a rad lady. The vintage feel of the store just adds to the experience. Hallelujah we finally found our go-​to place for our vaping needs. Love this place.

Haven’t written a review in a long time but wanted to get this out there. I was looking for a new vape store for a little variety. Found this one based off the Unilocal reviews. Walked in, didn’t seem like a vape store, but then I saw them. The owner was a very nice woman (already forgot her name) and we had a pleasant conversation about the different flavors. She had a BOGO sale going, and I got 2×15ml juices for $ 10. What a deal! I’m a fan and will return as she had some unique brands I have not seen anywhere else.

This is a fun little shop sandwiched between a Poppi’s Pipes and a dispensary. The (presumably) owner is very friendly and helpful. I recently purchased something from the shop that did not work the way I thought it would. I’m happy to say the owner refunded my money and I will most likely be back. A nice addition to the neighborhood.

Great store! Quality products, excellent prices, and a very knowledgable owner make this store an instant favorite. The owner really knows her products, and seems very current and up-​to-​date with the market/​products. She was advising a new vapor when I came in, and was doing an excellent job of being informative, not pushy. She also stocks excellent local e-​juice, like Oregon vapor! Check this place out!

I’ve gone to vape shops where I was clearly looked down upon for not being a hobbyist and for liking [complex] tobacco flavors (sorry, but rigging a sub-​ohm coil and using a mech mod doesn’t prove that you have a sophisticated palate).
At this place I felt the opposite; June was very welcoming, not presumptive, and seemed willing to go the extra mile to accommodate your preferences, no matter what they may be. She has a good selection with a good amount of diversity, which is what I like most.
Above all, the prices are the best I’ve seen in town (and that’s something that I’m usually pretty reserved about saying). In some cases, the prices are what I’d expect to see online (certainly if you include shipping). Also, the fact that they have Nicoticket liquid in stock is a big deal!
If I had to recommend a shop to a new vaper (or old, for that matter), this would be it – without hesitation. The shop is a little out of my way, but I will definitely be going back.

I’ve now been to this little shop twice, and both times I’ve been blown away by the quality of service! The owner immediately garnered my respect on my first visit by asking for my ID (I’m 21 but look younger). This industry needs to self-​regulate in order to survive.
The ambiance here is just so much nicer than any of the other local shops, not a single piece of cheap Ikea furniture in site, no lurking regulars «just hanging out» for hours. They seem to cater to a more mature crowd, and have mostly regulated PVs, tending towards the very user friendly devices. The owner is very nice and helpful; although she is clearly passionate about helping people quit cigarettes, I wouldn’t say she’s a hobbyist per se.
They have an good selection of current/​next-​gen tanks and mods (she has both the iPV4 and rDNA devices, priced at or below most websites). The juice selection is solid, but not exhaustive (more desserty/​tobacco flavors, which I appreciate, I’ve had too many shops push the cereal/​saccharin sweet, fruity flavors on me). They also have an assortment of dry herb vaporizers for the 420 friendly crowd.
My one (subjective) con for this store is their lack of RDAs, but I get the feeling that those sorts of devices are not what this store is for.
What this store is for: Great service, amazing prices, and most importantly, quitting the stinkies! They’re a newer store, so I can’t wait to see what they’ll do with the space!

This is a unique Vape shop and the prices are great. They even have a shop box mod for under 50 bucks. Today was my first visit and I didn’t have much time to look around but I liked what I saw. Thank you for the istick 50w btw the owner and only employee are great. Custom service awesome and I can’t wait to go back to check out all the juices and droppers and tanks. Solid selection of reputable e-​juice brands at a reasonable price! The price on equipment was more than fair (kangertech emow mega for $ 45), there was even a basket with a couple of free juices. They had some cool local art on the wall for sale. There was also a cabinet of unique lighters that was pretty awesome and a sweet purple couch to hang out on.
There is a tasting bar available to try the juices and the woman working was friendly and attentive. this place just opened up so i cant wait to see what it becomes!
