Business Owner
Michael D. O’Brien is one of only three lawyers in the state of Oregon who has been certified as a Consumer Bankruptcy Specialist by the American Board of Certification. With over 5000 successful bankruptcy cases and 18 years of experience, Mr. O’Brien has seen almost all fact patterns possible. An Oregon native, Mike graduated from Wilson High School and the University of Oregon where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in History. In 1994, Mike earned his law degree from University of Wisconsin Law School.
Mike’s practice focuses on bankruptcy for small business owners and complex Chapter 7 and 13 cases. Mike also represents individuals and small business owners in Chapter 11 reorganization proceedings. He is a frequent speaker on debtor/creditor issues and an active member of the Oregon State Bar Debtor/Creditor section.
