Missing Sock Laundry

Clean space, free parking, and the dryers work. I would recommend smaller loads in the dryers. Prices are cool, the super big washers are $ 6.50, the regular size is $ 3.75 and the dryers are $ 0.25 for 6 minutes.

I took my laundry in the day before Thanksgiving and for the same price that some places charge for 48-​hour service, I had it at the end of the day. Beautifully folded, eco-​friendly, what more could you ask for? I think that the ONE person who posts bad reviews must be crazy or something. This place is the best! Thank you Missing Sock Laundry!

Visited this at the hot dusty end of a travel week, and was delighted with the cleanliness and relative quiet of the place. When one of the dryers didn’t have heat after I’d spent a buck on it, I was happy to find a complaint form. When I finished my trip and arrived home in CA a few days later, there was a dollar bill from them. I call that excellent customer service.

Recent silly remodel moved out most seating and most of the folding tables. It’s clean, there’s a wash & fold service which seems great, but without someplace to fold clothing it’s sort of a self-​defeated business.

Wow! I’m surprised at the vitriolic posts that are allowed here. One guy even seems to have posted 1Star twice? Who in the world calls out someone’s appearance like that? It’s a laundromat for Pete’s sake.
This little laundromat is not ideally located for me. I live a few miles away and have to carry my laundry on the bus. But I like Tammy’s service and the look and feel of the place. I thought it was clean! But then I’m not someone that usually runs my finger under the rim of a PUBLICLY USED washer. Sheesh! She does wash and fold for me and only lives a couple blocks away. The price is right and she worked with me getting massage oils out of my work linen. The other thing that convinced me was that when I couldn’t pickup my laundry she offered to bring it and meet me on the MAX line.
By the way, I like that the bathrooms are left unlocked. If the occasional homeless person freaks out I think you probably need to move your entitled ass to a different city. **rolleyes**

I use Missing Sock exclusively for their dryers: I can pay $ 1.50 for the pleasure of hauling wet clothes out of my apartment’s dryer, or schlep my wet laundry around the block to Missing Sock.
While their washing machines are fairly expensive ($ 6.25 for a large load?!), their dryers are powerful and fairly priced. 25 cents gets you six minutes and even a huge load is usually done in half an hour.
I am disappointed to see that they’ve changed the place up. The new floor is nice, but I miss the mural and REALLY miss the names on the machines. Not sure if it’s new management or what, but I preferred loading my clothes into Frost, not #19 :(

This laundry mat just saved my life, and half of my wardrobe. After using my buildings laundry facility and it breaking down half way thru, I had 6 loads of soaking wet clothes (2 covered in bleach) I had to rush over to The Missing Sock and rewash all my wet clothes. Everything came out beautifully and nothing was ruined! Thankfully! The place was so clean and there are tons of washer sizes to choose from. Thank you Missing Sock for fixing what could’ve been a disaster!

There is no one working here and crazy homeless people keep coming in to use the bathroom and take magazines.
It does not feel safe, I will not be returning.

This place is not all that, yes it’s clean and there’s machines available for a Tuesday evening but the «warm» option for washers is bull. Also for dryers, you’ll need about $ 1.50 for one dryer on a small load in order for it to be completely dry. This place is expensive and a time waster. I don’t recommend it. There’s other laundromats with better updated dryers for a lesser price near by.

As far as laundromats go, this is probably the nicest you’ll find (at least in NW). I was always able to find parking either on the street right in front of Missing Sock or in the dedicated lot, just past the entrance (on the corner). There’s a TV in the corner, free WiFi, and generally some decent magazines.
The machines are much more expensive than you’ll find in other places, but I found it worth it for the location, cleanliness, and safety. I often came here on my own late at night and felt very comfortable, as it is in a safe area and well-​lit.
I have never had laundry service done here, but the few times I did see a staff member hand off some laundry to a customer, there was always some explanation about something happening to an item of clothing, so I always opted to wash my own things.

I have always been a snob about laundry. The company I work for requires laundry service. Since we started using Tammy’s laundry service at Missing Sock Laundry my life has been so much easier. She is always so kind and willing to work with our crazy schedule. If I was ever too busy to do my own laundry at home I would go to her. She has reasonable enough prices that it would be highly considered some weeks.

Quick and Reliable Service! The facility is always super clean and machines are in great shape. I’ve been using their wash and fold service for quite some time and have been really impressed with how fast Tammy is able to get things cleaned and folded on a consistent basis. Great Job, friendly caring people. Dropped off at 11am Sunday and picked up 12 pounds washed, dried and folded. Highly recommend.

I’ve been here over a dozen times and I’ll tell you what tammie the wonderful friendly lady that goes out of her way to please people has the best customer service at a laundry mat and I’ve been to about five other locations. They wash and fold service is amazing folded perfectly and done on time. I would go here anytime I need to do my laundry not just for the great machines and speedy service but for the friendly customer service and cleanliness the business has :):)

The laundromat is always clean and the service is always nice. Big washers and plenty of dryers. Would recommend this place to anyone short on time and needs to get laundry done quickly.

I love the missing sock laundry and Tammie Martin! I have a washer and dryer at home and live out in the Woodstock neighborhood but still travel across town to come in to wash my blankets, read the magazines, and say hello to Tammie. She is always very welcoming to me and helpful with any questions I have. I always refer my friends to the Missing Sock Laundry and will continue to do so! I praise her for the cleanliness and kind service she provides! I have been a customer for the past 4 years and will continue to take my blankets in and say Hi to Tammie!

I’ve been using this laundry mat for years. However recently I started to drop my clothes off for wash and fold service. Tammie Martin does the wash and fold and I have been completely happy every time. She expertly folds every item into perfect squares. Tammie gets the job done quickly and calls my cell when ready for pick up. I’m always greeted with a smile and friendly chit chat. It has been a god send to have this convenient service available in this nice neighborhood. I highly recommend coming here, and especially taking advantage of the wash and fold.

I use this laundromat twice a week for my work laundry. They have very big washers and dryers which helps me get it done quickly since I usually have a lot to wash. It is always clean inside and has a nice sitting area. Also free wifi is awesome and a parking lot is a plus! I’ve never had any problems.

The so called owner of this Missing Sock Laundromat off Thurmond in NW Portland is missing far more than a sock! The owner who came on site as I was almost done drying three loads of laundry was extremely abusive to me. Her name is Tammy Martin and she stated she was the owner! At any rate, I find that hard to believe: Tammy is short in height and heavy set with dyed blond hair and has missing and/​or crooked teeth and accosted me as my clothes were drying. She has a loud and belligerent way of oppressing all her customers, obviously. She had not been in the laundromat for the previous hour I had been there not have I ever seen any management there previously.
When she abruptly opened the door on me using the restroom, I said, please I’m in here, she continued to open the door and screamed at me for no reason. For whatever reason, even though I had been in the bathroom for one minute and was using it, she threatened that I better not be using the bathroom for anything other than using it! I was very concerned about the abusive invasion while doing so and it became number one priority immediately.
I quickly finished and without even finishing up and washing my hands, I asked her why she walked in on me and she screamed the SAME THING! I told her I was a customer and had spent money and my clothes were drying at this time and all she had to say was, «well I have not seen you.» No apology and no repair, just more of a combative approach to a customer. I said I was getting my things immediately and leaving and four times more she THREATENED ME saying she’d call the police! I asked her to please do so as if like to file a complaint myself and have since done so. Meanwhile she went to every customer on site to patronized and malign a paying respectful customer who used the restroom– 2 minutes tops.
THIS NASTY OVERPRICED PLACE HAS THE WORST NEANDERTHAL CUSTOMER SERVICE I’VE EVER ENCOUNTERED OR IMAGINED.
She deserves to be sued in court and I’m considering it for the ten bucks and harassment, and punitive damages.
Tammy Martin needs to understand there are consequences to harassing anyone but especially consequences to a paying customer. I have taken action accordingly today over this unnecessary and unprovoked invasion of my privacy.
I told all the customers and employees at SPIN Laundry Lounge on North Fremont how Tammy treats her customers. They felt bad for me and had heard the place was not anything they’d want to do laundry in and I believe it! They gave me coupons to do laundry at Spin and apologized for Missing Sock Laundry. You see, I’m a disabled veteran service connected Navy Diver, they like people like me at SPIN Laundry and Lounge. Great business here and with cleanliness and character, unlike Missing Sock and Mind Laundromat on Thurmond-​UGH!
I’d encourage anyone to stay away from the intentional behavior and dirty terrible service at MISSING SOCK LAUNDRY and head over for a three minute drive for real treat at SPIN LAUNDRY AND LOUNGE… super outfit, coffee, a lounge and several bathrooms where they allow you to use when necessary!

As a busy massage therapist I use to frequent this joint on a regular basis. It is very clean and has a lot of space to fold. Not to mention a big screen TV that seemed to always have infomercials on when I was in :)
They are probably the most expensive laundromat in town, which really let me down when I was shorted $ 11 by the change machine. I left note but was never contacted. Oh well. . took my business elsewhere.
