Great service and great prices! I was having a problem with my car running rough and they got me right in fixed the issue and had me back in my car the same day!

I have taken my car here a few times from basic oil changes to replacing My transmission. Each experience was great, I felt taken care, pricing was fair and reasonable and my car was well taken care of. I will for sure continue to use them and recommend this place!

I was visiting Portland and had car trouble late on a Friday (fluid leak). It was hard to find a service station open on Saturday, but this place was not only open but uncrowded, friendly, and helpful. The mechanic stopped his work to talk to me and check out my car and they did not charge me for the fluids check. I was very pleased with their service, old school in the best way!

I’ve been to Multonomah Automotive 3 times for the same issue. They were very nice… the only reason they get 2 stars is for their customer service… but never were able to fix the problem. Finally I took the car to another mechanic and it finally is fixed. Multnomah Automotive mechanics did not install one of the parts correctly the first time I went in, and were never able to diagnose the problem on subsequent visits. I was shown the original wheel bearing that was installed at Multnomah, and it was jammed, crooked and mangled from a shoddy installation. They were very nice, but not worth it!

After bringing my car for repair, I was told that the radiator was blown. I accepted the repair, although the price seemed high (~$ 600). I was then called about the fact that the mechanic has detected a leaky engine due to a blown head gasket. The repair was estimated to $ 3,500. I pulled my car and brought it to my usual mechanic. I payed $ 110 for the partial dis-​assembly of the old radiator and re-​assembly. My mechanic changed the radiator for $ 250. He did a bubble test of the coolant to verify with 100% certainty that there wasn’t a head gasket failure. No head gasket failure. There is some oil leakage but not much. So how do you guess I feel about Multnomah Auto nd their work? $ 250 vs $ 3,500 for a repair that wasn’t even needed. I would suggest they read:

It’s a gas station that is slightly slow and the rain shelter is not large enough to shield you when it is raining hard. The attendants are usually young and polite.

I remember, when I was a little kid, pulling into Pete’s Sunoco Gas Station across from the Super Duper grocery store with my Mom or Dad, & each time, we were greeted by a friendly familiar face, addressed by name, & engaged in some idle chit-​chat while we were gassing up. & every single time, whether it needed it or not, our windshield was cleaned… & don’t even think about getting outta there without a «Have a great day» being tossed your way!
I was sad to see all the self service pump stations come in & take over. I hated pumping my own gas when I was old enough to drive, & for a few short years, I would continue to go to Pete’s Sunoco (which out lived the Super Duper) for the exact same service… by mostly the exact same people… but alas, poor Pete’s eventually did succumb to the Red Apple Quickie Marts they put on each side of our small little town… & the full service station was no more.
Imagine my surprise & delight when I first arrived in the great state of Oregon, & realized… I don’t have to pump my own gas! It was a short lived celebration, as most places have creepy, grumpy people there, who you pray will not run off with your credit card when you hand it to them to buy your gas. & truth be told, I am fearful to even ask about getting my windshield washed… even if it were covered in mud, I were out of washer fluid & my wipers didn’t work… I would rather drive out of the gas station, park on the side of the 5, & use my sleeve! It’s probably safer!
But then, a few weeks ago, I pulled into this «Service Station». I was greeted by a friendly face & a smile, he asked how my day was going, engaged in some idle chit-​chat, & then… he washed my windshield! I have been back several times since, & each time, it’s been someone different, but they are always kind, friendly, & will wash your window if it needs it… even when it’s really busy,
Plus, the gas prices are about 10cents cheaper than stations closer to the city.
In my own mind… this place is my new Pete’s Sunoco! (Even though it’s a Shell Station) :)
