History

Established in 2011.

Muscle & Bone PDX was created by two friends wanting a simple space for massage therapy that was free of the stereotypical zen-​spa-​fluffy-​candles-​woo-​woo and didn’t have the pressure/​distraction of a chiropractor-​acupuncture-​naturalpath-​doctor-​etc… We wanted a space where you knew you would get a great massage and that’s it. We couldn’t find it, so we started Muscle & Bone PDX, no frills, no gimmicks, just great a massage, every time.

Was given a gift of an hour massage from my lady just a week ago from the gang at Muscle & Bone. I was scheduled with Jonathan and not only did he simply listen to my requests but gave me explanations to his direction, expertise and options for further treatment to my ailing body. I highly recommend him to anyone who is needing a great massage experience.

I came here on a Groupon after ACL reconstruction surgery. I was a bit nervous to have my leg manipulated, but Izzy was so knowledgable, capable and easy to talk to that I immediately had confidence in him. I continued to get therapy massages, and he has helped my leg heal, as well as working out all the other stress I put on my muscles… especially the neck and back! This is not a spa treatment– it’s a health treatment: restorative and rejuvinating. I would recommend Izzy to anyone who wants their body to feel better!

First massage was great. Came in for my second massage and no one showed. Both Izzy and Shane have been non-​responsive to my emails and phone calls.
Not sure if they went out of business, but I would sure love a refund!

Shane takes the time to «LISTEN» to where and what your concerns are and if you are seeking the definition of true massage therapy this is where you will find it.
He is knowledgeable of the intricacies of the human body– he is gentle but firm, adjusting pressure as and where needed.
I’ve been truly amazed at his body works and I’ve had massages all over the world in many countries and settings. HE is by far one of the best I’ve ever experienced in terms of relief from structural and muscular pain. I will continue to seek his services and highly recommend him to you.

Isadora is a great LMT. She communicates well to find out exactly where the tension is and what works to relieve it. I have seen her many times while training for marathons, and she has been so helpful for working out the pain and tightness that comes with endurance training. I agree with other reviewers – she is strong and personable, and I really enjoy her music choices! (A nice change from «spa» music.)

Thank you Portland Unilocalers! I knew there was a place I heard about on N Mississippi but I read your reviews and booked this at 1am for next day! I was desperate when my pain turned in to numbness down my arm… Isadora is so talented, personable and I think THE expert with the neck! I am studying Chinese Medicine and have tried at least 5 different treatments in the last 11 days, but this 1 hour massage did the trick. It was bliss and I feel connected… my head to my body that is! It’s an awesome office, QUIET and I love the interior design and lighting. I told Isadora that she is now the completion in my Monthly Wheel of Health! Enjoy!!!

Both Shane and Izzy have worked on me for a few years now. I’ve gotten more recovery accomplished through these two therapists than I ever could have through physical therapy for my particular problem. Izzy does amazing energy work (don’t knock it till you try it!) and Shane is very intuitive and understand how the body works. I recommend them to all my friends!
