My friend recently moved to Portland, so I thought it would be nice to introduce her to the best Portland has to offer. Our highlight — Sailing down the Willamette River on a pirate ship!(Well, close enough to it, an authentic sailing junk.) Michelle, the owner, was so kind to fit us in during a busy weekend, even prepared soft drinks and snacks(thanks!). It must have been about 90+ degrees that day(what the hell, Portland?), but it was cool on the river and the light breeze was just perfect. Portland is such a lovely city *sigh*. Going under the city bridges and id’ing the various architectural structures along the bank really gives you a different perspective to the city. The crew was professional and courteous, and also very knowledgeable. Overall we had a great time! The best part? All the waving and gawking from your typical paddle-boarders, Portland Spirit cruisers, and water skiers that grace the Willamette. There was actually quite a lot of traffic on the river that day, but all a friendly bunch, particularly when they try to get close to check out the boat. Now, if only we could pillage…
