Nike Brand

I had a wonderful experience while shopping at the Nike store. I had a woman named Jordan, who was very knowledgable about her product knowledge, and was more than accommodating!
The layout wasn’t as big as I thought it would be, but didn’t make it any less memorable!
I purchased some limited edition #BlackHistoryMonth Nike Zoom’s and am very satisfied!!! P. s. My birthday is Feb. 6^th. So this was my early present to myself!
Definitely check it out if you are in Portland area! Head quarters are right down the street!

Customer service on the phone was soo LAZY! My wife gave me alternate jordan 4, she got in online but its one size bigger, so I decided exchange it for a size 10 at the Nike store in downtown. I went there straight to the third floor where the jordans are located, one guy assisted me checked the inventory thru his mobile device and told me they only have size 12 and 8 which was the one on display. So I stepped out of the store but not convince about the stock (knowing there a lot at
) I called up them up while I was like 3 ft away from the main entrance, a lady answered then I asked if they have size 10 available, she immediately answered back sorry were out of stock, So I asked (do you have any other sizes available?) with no hesitation she promptly answered sorry no stock of any sizes! Which I was just there like 5 mins ago. and saw the display and one sales rep confirmed that they do have 8, 8.5 an 12 plus a lot more sizes for the kids. I love nike but those kind of employees don’t deserve represent the nike brand.

Karla Aranda assisted me in my shopping. She was super friendly and helpful in my shopping. She made shopping for my daughter a lot easier. Thank you.

On top of the small choice in clothing and shoes this store is definitely lacking in customer service. Not only did three sales people ignore me, but while he was looking for a shoe on the mobile device all the employees used, he continued to flirt with another employee. Always disappointed when I come here.

I was expecting something bigger. Yes, it has a nice open space. But considering this Nike Town is located in Nike HQ’s backyard I was expecting something more. The factory store out in Woodburn was more impressive in my opinion.

This is hard for me to write because I really like Nike products. My father was visiting and wanted to take my son, his grandson out shopping. We had never been to any of the Nike stores before. The store itself is spacious. I was surprised to see how little inventory they actually carried, considering how large the store it. Especially for boys. Also, My father worked his way up in retail and became an international fabrics buyer for a well known men’s clothier in San Francisco. I too worked many years selling clothes at exclusive shops and department stores. I was really shocked at the large number of employees working the floor, and yet not one of them knew how to sell. Not one of them tried to suggest pairings of clothing together. Not one of them took the items that we chose and carried them to the dressing room for us. They all stood around chatting with each other, looking at the customers nervously as if they had no confidence in their ability to provide customer service. They were nice, but lacked a great deal in finessing the client and connecting the sale. We finally did get help from a nice young man named Marc.
Apathetic is the word that I would use to describe the sales people. I think that Nike needs to do some fundamental training in customer service and how to properly service a client and how to see a sale through to the end. Marc disappeared after my son went to the dressing room. Then another sales associate showed up to chat, but he was not helpful, just chatty. I had to go and get my son different sizes to try while he was in the dressing room. Who trains these folks? I would never have let that happen if I was working the floor. They think it’s enough just to hang around. But real customer service asks questions like, «Do you have any questions about the clothing today?» or, «Did you know that this jacket is made with material that will keep your body temperature comfortable?» ect…
After my son made some decisions, the chatty sales guy was going to take the sale that he did not help us with. Then Marc sheepishly re-​appeared. Marc was the one that had brought us 3 different shoes for y son to try on. My dad said, «There you are Marc. Thank you for helping us today. Would you like to ring up our sale?» Marc looked encouraged and he did ring us up. He brought out a special soccer type bag for my son with some special Nike store only stickers for him too. I think that a store like Nike is synonymous with stores like Nordstrom, but if the customer service is not there, the Nike reputation declines.

When you walk in don’t expect to be greeted, while you walk around expect to get harassed by nearly every worker in the store to get you a size, and don’t expect that although this store is rather large that they’ll have everything in stock.

At first pass through this store I would have given it a 3.5 on the intial service and selection.
However on my second run through this store today I was helped by Channi who was amazingly responsive, found exactly what I needed and when they didn’t have my size she had an awesome solution to get me situated. Extremely knowledgable and had me in and out in less that 15 mins with a handheld check out. Hope someone @ Nike corporate reads this and commends her at least. I’ll definitely be back in the store for another 2 pairs at least if that’s the kind of experience to expect. Highly recommended based on this last shopping experience.

As always. overly priced tanks and jackets with staff that doesn’t acknowledge your existence. –_–

a tank top with really thin material– $ 40.
A jacket that was SUPER comfy– $ 70.

But, the store being 3 floors was pretty cool. It is definitely nicely set up as well.

I have been to many Nike stores and talk to many staffs. Kristina at Portland Nike store stands out right away. She was able to answer all my questions from toddler’s shoes to the latest MJ releases. I was also interested in the differences between LBJ, Kobe and KD latest shoes since they were displayed together and Kristina gave me a 5 min analysis right away. You can feel her passion toward Nike and proud of her work.
Last but not least, to Nike upper managers, you gotta have Jordan 3 retro release in the pipe. To discontinue it is a big big mistake. :)

Service here is poor. I had to refold the clothes I purchased right at the register because the associate did a half ass job.

I like Nike stuff. A lot. But this store is expensive and has poor selection. There is no reason to go back.

I used to work at adidas so checking in here slightly felt like betrayal. I love the open space of this location and the layout of the store is clean and visually appealing. Their visual merchandising team does a great job of drawing people into the store from the window displays (that’s what got me in browsing a few times).
I came here to do an exchange of sizes for a jacket my brother helped me purchase. Everything was easy, friendly, and quick. I unfortunately didn’t have the receipt, but it was unwashed, unworn, and I still had the tag. The cashier was accommodating and I was in and out within five minutes. Great customer service will always have me return as a repeat customer. Good job, Nike.
The one thing I’d suggest is that there be more full-​body mirrors in the women’s section. It was hard to try on simple things like jackets when mirrors were on the other side of the store. Now that I think about it, maybe their mirror placement is a ploy to get people into fitting rooms. Sneaky, sneaky… Or maybe I’m just overanalyzing things now.

PORTLAND, OR: Nikes most flagshippy flagship store ever in this their home state of Oregon.
Tons of selection, lots of flashy displays, multiple levels dedicated to different sports.
If you are sporty you would probably enjoy this place.
It’s a bit expensive, there are no sale items, and a touch elitist, but what nice retailer doesn’t share those qualities to some extent?

I never knew Nike’s ran an average of $ 150! At least that’s how much the average pair costs here; maybe they have to charge that much to afford their ridiculous overhead and to provide all their staff with trendy new Nike gear to represent for the customers? I just couldn’t believe how expensive all their products were, made me less and less interested in supporting Nike.

The selection was okay. But the prices made it even better: P
We went around 11am on a Friday, it wasn’t crazy packed, but still a little busy and there were no lines! I was ready to bring my boxing gloves that day but it wasn’t as bad as I’ve heard :)

Five stars just for having what I was looking for even though I asked for both. Found a #betrue shirt that was not even on display as well as two Portland nike shirts; one of which was a girls shirt, Oregon color way and not even on display. I have no idea why they would not put them out because they were two of the best items there.
The shoe supply is good but not what I was looking for. Their running is on the first floor and basketball on second. They had some lebrons, kds and some Jordans available. I think they had some options not on display but didn’t ask. Just saw a tweet saying they had a few Jordan 2s available a few days ago but none on display the week I went.

I’ve had my eye on the FuelBand for some time now & not sure where else to go but this store. With a name like Nike, when I walk in the door I expect a sales person to be all over me. Instead I end up waiting at the counter feeling like some kind of idiot. If the sales person is helping someone ahead of me, making me wait until the other person is finished, then another salesperson should come over and start waiting on me. At the very least he should greet me and say, be with you shortly. That’s the kind of thing good customer service is made of. To top all that off he then waited on the person who was actually after me & that’s when I stormed out in a huff. Yes, I can do that. I have such little tolerance for crappy customer service.
After I’ve had a chance to regroup I will go back and try again hoping that the experience will be different. I don’t know. Maybe there’s a snob factor in play here with a company who believes they are so great that customer service isn’t important. If this is their flagship store then the mothership needs to get a grip on it and reel them in. How about a little customer service training?
One more chance fellas. If you change your tune I’ll change mine.

Pretty boring Nike store. Didn’t see anything cool here that I could get in Portland that I wouldnt get in a Northern California Nike store. Maybe I’m biased but even the SF store looks better. And has more things in stock.

This is not a place to shop.
Worst customer service ever. I had to go searching for a salesperson to get shoes to try on. I can’t believe I have to beg them to take my money!

The Nike Fuel Band. What an amazing invention. Durable??? NOPE! In two years I have gone through 4 fuel bands. Is this a problem? Not really, because Nike has always replaced mine with a new, working band! (please note: your current band must be under the one year warranty). I have always had exceptional customer service from these guys! I love the return policy and I love that someone is always there to help me or at least make sure I don’t need any help.
Down falls: (1) Price! For most items I would prefer to just look at a factory store. Unless it’s a new release item that I must have and cannot stand life without owning … I’ll just go to the store on MLK and get something for ½ the price. (2) Inventory. They really could have more stuff in this store. I agree with several of the other reviews I have read on this topic. I am always surprised when I go in and see… well… not that much to choose from. What is the idea behind this?
I would like to state again that I think the customer service here is top notch and I actually enjoy the employees here. Everyone always seems to be very knowledgeable on their product.

Nike makes some great products. I happen to own a lot of them because I make about 3 – 4 trips/​year to the Nike Employee Store and get everything at deep, deep discounts. At the prices I usually pay, I’m happy with pretty much everything I own, from golf gear to running shoes to Combat compression gear to clothing, it’s all great. And Dri-​fit is my go-​to for travel and workout gear. Because it works.
I have only visited this fancy new flagship Nike retail store a few times, and I can’t say I’m super impressed with it. No, it’s not that I refuse to pay full price. Plenty of the gear is worth it. But the service can sometimes be lacking, and the selection really isn’t all that great for what should (IMHO) be one of the best-​stocked stores they have.
The first time I stopped in here they didn’t have any (truly, not any at all) soccer stuff. No team jerseys, scarves, shoes… nothing. I know that the Timbers are an Adidas team, but there is a disproportionately large soccer fan base here in PDX, and I am surprised they don’t stock anything in this store for it.
The second time I rolled in here was to swap out a NikeFuel band that someone purchased for me. This person had the wrong size pushed on them and was told that A) if I opened it to try it on, I couldn’t exchange it, and B) not to worry, they had plenty of every size in stock. So I had to make a trip down to the store myself to try on the size (which didn’t fit, I’m XL in every way) and they didn’t have any of my size in stock to replace it with. This was literally a couple of days later. And when I went in, I was told that if I had opened it I could have still swapped it out. They were stoked that I hadn’t, because then they could resell it.
I understand retail runs out of popular styles and sizes… it happens. But how about a little consistency in service? Instead of my benefactor ordering what she knew should be the correct size online (since it seems obvious it wasn’t in stock when she made the purchase), I’m now waiting an extra week for the correct one to be ground shipped to me from somewhere in BFE. And when I told her about it, she just shook her head and said «they assured me that they had plenty of all sizes in stock.»
Well boo. I’ll continue to drink the Nike kool-​aid when it comes to running shoes, activewear, and anything else I can get at the Employee Store. Even with the inconvenience of being unable to exchange anything, it’s still more convenient than shopping at an understocked retail outlet with spotty service.
It sure does look pretty in this store, though.
