Oregon Weight Loss Surgery

I received a reply from Oregon Weight Loss on my review of Dr. Patterson. I stand by all of my review. It was stated that Dr. Patterson didn’t think yogurt was «stupid», she eats it all the time. What I originally said was basically, we got there early and I was hungry. I chose the lesser of all evils at the cafeteria and had a yogurt parfait. This is what I told Dr. Patterson. That because of my gastro paresis, yogurt sometimes gives me an upset stomach. She said, «well that was stupid».
I do realize that many procedures must be done. But on both endoscopies, Dr. Patterson, never ONCE acknowledged me, the patient in the procedure room. NOT ONCE! She spoke ONLY TO HER STAFF!!! I felt like a piece of meat on a guerny! In my opinion, I did EVERYTHING right, and more! I paid almost $ 3000.00 for Positive Changes pre-​surgery so I could be prepared for a new way of eating. I completely stopped going thru drive thrus. I completely stopped all soda. I drank NOTHING but water or protein drinks. I paid lots of money on a gym membership and personal trainer so I could prepare myself for a new way of exercising. I lost all the weight she wante and stuck to her diet. But in January, she had the unmitigated gall to sit there and call me a binger. She started to say that her exercise doctor whom I only met once on the FIRST VISIT, said something, then quickly changed to «oh, you’re going to the gym». Clearly, she and her staff had no idea what they were talking about! I did disclose up front that not only did I have gastro paresis, but I had bipolar disorder, anxiety disorder and borderline personality disorder. Now if Dr. Patterson thought that too great a challenge, the time to tell me she would not do my surgery would have been the first visit. I am a very sensitive and intuitive person, and I did not act on my intuition the first visit, nor did my husband because we had already paid her $ 500.00 just for the first visit. We should have left, and gone to the doctor next door.
My last visit with her, was the most unprofessional visit with a doctor in my life!!! Not only did she accuse me of something that was completely wrong, and try to tell me that on my first visit her physical fitness doctor…“oh you’re going to the gym”, then proceeded to tell me in a rather snotty tone, «I’m not doing your surgery». I asked why, got no response other than, she closed my file as I sat there, mouth agape, stood up and walked out without a word.
No one from her office can ever convince me that Dr. Patterson is nothing but an arrogant, self centered bitch who cares nothing for her patients, only that she gets her face on magazine covers, and makes lots of money.
My advice is and always will be, go the weight loss center next door, or somewhere else, unless of course, you like being treated like crap.

Their staff is friendly and professional, no matter how busy they are, the always responded pretty promptly to my calls and emails with a million question. Dr. Patterson has a passion for helping people get healthy and the program totally prepares you for the drastic permanent change. Best decision, best place to go!
