Paul Frey, Owner and sole Inspector, has been a Home Inspector in Oregon for over 28 years, completing 1000’s of inspections on a variety of structures. Each one is unique whether it is the classic Portland historic home, a contemporary modern, a suburban ranch style, a funky cabin at the beach, an ancient log home in the woods, an industrial investment building or a house built just yesterday. They all have a history and his keen eye in combination with years of experience can reveal the good, the bad and the repairable! He doesn’t report on cosmetics, but provides an unbiased and unemotional evaluation of the condition of the property. His specialty is the experience he brings to your table in revealing what story the physical findings of the inspection tell. Paul strives to educate his clients who can learn on-​site, through a quick turn-​around of his detailed digital report and any follow-​up discussions. History

Established in 1981.

In 1981, Paul began working in the construction industry as a licensed pest and dry rot inspector specializing in how to best protect homes from years of aging in our damp Northwest climate. Frey Enterprises, a construction company was founded in 1986, focusing on total rehab and remodel of large classic homes in the Portland area. In the early 1990’s, demand for his expertise and knowledge in a wide variety of construction areas changed the focus of the business to include structural inspections prior to purchases and sales for his clients. Instrumental in helping to establish continuing education requirements and regulations for inspectors, he was licensed on the first day of the new Oregon Certified Home Inspector law in 1989. A name change in 2001 to Oregon West Inspections Inc. established his sole ownership of the company and desire to produce accurate and independent inspections for his clients. Paul has completed over 14 000 fee paid inspections over the last 28 years.

Business Owner

Paul has had an active career in the construction industry in Oregon since the early 1980s’. Established Frey Enterprises, DBA Frey Home Inspection and Oregon West Inspections Inc. He has served in many capacities with local inspection groups, OREIA and OAHI, mentoring new inspectors, and remains a master inspector with American Society of Home Inspectors.

He grew up in California, studied chemistry and biology at St. John’s University in Minnesota before serving with the 1^st Air Cavalry in Viet Nam. Paul loves helping people, conversation, fly-​fishing, and is a fantastic chef. He has been married for over 30 years to his wife, Lisa, who runs the office, and is proud to have raised two enterprising young women!
