O’Reilly Auto Parts

If I need something for my vehicle, I stop by this parts store. Not only do they have what I need, they are even happy to teach you how to do it free of charge! So far I have had the check engine light looked at, recharged my AC, and replaced my headlight. Replacing the bulb myself saved $ 50, and about a 2 hour wait. I would say that makes me a fan for sure!

I’ve been here about three separate times, and each time I’ve left smarter than before. As soon as you walk in, you should hear a «hello!» from behind the aisles. Very friendly staff, down-​to-​earth, and they know what they are doing.
I’ve exchanged batteries here, I’ve picked up headlights, tools, wipers, and more. Each time I’ve left with just the right part.
Highly recommended!

Quick one here. They have what I need, but not in stock and it’s a bit pricy but for everyday kind of auto parts, oil and cleaning supplies for your vehicle? I’m sure you will do well here.
The staff was friendly and when I told them what I needed and what it was going to be used for, they got out the books and tracked down the part and located it through their warehouse to see if it was available nearby.

I was in and out within 5 minutes with new headlights which happened to be on sale. The younger guy didn’t offer to help when I first walked in which o.k. Because Jim helped me and Jim is a boss.
Jim took the time to make sure they were the right lights for my car and also gave me gloves to wear to change them. I didn’t wear them but it’s the thought that counts. This location is close too, I’ll be back.

My car repair days are over. That was high school and college, crawling under cars in the snow. But I still change bulbs and wipers, even check tire pressure and refill the window wash, it’s simple. So when I need an item like that, I go here and they have always been knowledgeable. They have offered to help put in wiper blades, and the coolest thing is that they will let you use their ODB scanner. That is the brain that you plug in under the dash to give you an idea what the warning light means. Is it, the «it’s been 3000 miles since your last maintenance light» or «get out of the car immediately it’s dangerous light»? That’s customer service! If it’s the «time to replace the oxygen sensor light», they can sell you one. And if you have to take the car to the shop you will be speaking with more knowledge about what needs repairing.

My experience went on over two visits, the first was fine, talked to an older gentlemen who I told what part I needed, a radiator cap for a 1991 toyota carolla, and he gave it to me. It didn’t fit on my car. I compared it to the original and verified that they were diameters different.
Went back the next day, and brought both caps. The person behind the counter told me they were the same size and it was an optical illusion. I had measured it at home, but I accepted to myself that maybe I had made an error and she spoke reasonably confident.
Return home, measure, yeah they aren’t the same size. There is no arguing it, and had my friend verify it for me. I am lucky this is a radiator cap and not a more expensive issue because it is beyond frustrating to be told you are wrong when you checked before hand, come to a conclusion, be told you are wrong, go home and be right. I expect its because I didn’t talk to one of the older experienced gentlemen, I don’t wanna slam the whole shop but the experience made me not want to go there again.
When I verified with a friend he actually laughed when I said O’reilys, since he had another friend with a bad experience.
I went to another autopart shop, showed the piece, got the right piece. there was a super small difference he could identify immediately. I don’t want to promote another shop here, just saying another place identified it immediately and saw the difference– the O’riely clerk went with what the computer said and ignored the difference.

I needed a brake light and new fog lights. They looked up the fog lights, found one w/​a $ 10 rebate. Didn’t know what kind of light for the brakes, so the guy says, ‘lets got take a look.’ He pops out the old bulb, just to make sure we get it right the first time.
Great service, everyone there was happy to help. Several people in the parking lot changing bulbs, etc. Staff was lending tools and knowledge, right and left. Car care ninjas, these men are.

Not much worse than figuring out whats wrong and fixing it yourself, only to have the part be crap.
I bought one of their alternators, that they tested before giving to me, and installed it myself (first time alternator install). The battery was dead 4 days later. Not being too familiar the last thing I thought was that the alternator was faulty, gave up and took it to a shop. It was a bad alternator, and cost me triple their price.
Now to see if they’ll refund the cash.

Confusing to get to because it is in a bunch of one way roads.

Excellent customer service! Beats the pants off of Napa. They may not have what you want, but at least they’re honest and will call around to find it. Have bought here many times and will definitely go back.

Awesome and friendly folks. I walked in looking for replacement wipers for front and rear windows. They quickly found the wipers I needed (Less than 60 seconds) and even installed them on my car. Saved me the time and hassle and was on my way. Bought headlights many weeks ago with similar quick and friendly assistance in finding what I needed. Conveniently located to downtown and inner east side. Easy parking in a lot behind the store.

No longer a Schuck’s, now part of the large O’Reilly Auto Parts chain. And this is a good thing, as the re-​configured store is much cleaner, better laid out, and compact. More emphasis on professionalism and wholesale customers, the overall change is very good.
