If you think that this is «just like home-made» you are dead wrong. There is a *reason* Papa Murphy’s is cheaper than other places. They use super cheap, low quality ingredients. Not only does the pizza leave a strange after taste in your mouth(like licking a zebra’s greasy arm pit, I imagine) buuuut if you look at the ingredients, its not even real food! The cheesy bread has a ton of nasty fake food ingredients in it from hydrogenated oils in the dough(yup! those pesky trans fats that are soon to be illegal because they are THAT bad for you) to hydrogenated oils in the«liquid butter alternative» to artificial flavors and colors to something called«Dimethypolysiloxane». What is that you ask? Oh nothing really, just a little ANTIFOAMINGAGENT!!! WTF?! So gross! Why is there an anti-foaming agent in my pizza?! And you pay, $ 14 – 16 for a large pizza that you not only have to pick up but also bake yourself on a weird shiny paper tray that smells like its going to give you cancer. Really? Really?! I think I’ll pass and just head to McDonalds if I want cheap, fast, artery clogging fake food. At least you know what you’re getting yourself into there.

Called in an order for two pizzas less than an hour before kickoff of the BCS National Championship. Apparently they were swamped and it would take 30 – 40 minutes. I walked in after half an hour and they were ready. The cashier was very friendly and let me use my $ 8 pepperoni pizza coupon towards the cheese pizza. I also used a $ 2 off any pizza coupon for the Garlic Chicken, saving a total of $ 4 in the end. It was quite busy as I left. I turned back to see if I had paid the correct amount and ask one of the associates. There seemed to be some confusion so they let me take a Cheesy Bread to make up for it. Everyone was very friendly and seemed to be working very hard during the rush. The pizza was delicious and made perfectly. Worth the wait!

It’s take and bake pizza… if you’ve never had it, they make the pizza however you want(usually though this last time they screwed mine up a little) and you take it home and you bake it in your over. It’s not the highest quality pizza but it has it’s place. Personally, pizza is one of those things that even if it’s horrible, I feel like it has it’s time and place. My favorite part of getting food at Papa Murphy’s is getting the cookie dough and eating it raw :)(but I don’t think they recommend that.)

I’ll admit, I like Papa Murphy’s but this location only. To give it four stars may surprise you, because it did me, but I’ve become a fan & here’s why: It’s close to home & there’s always a monthly flyer with coupons in the mail but those aren’t the only two reasons why we’re fans of this location. The service & the quality of pizzas made here are better. The staff are always friendly, appreciative, & working hard as a team to ensure customers don’t have to wait for their«take-out». The pizzas are put together fast but with care & they taste good, too. Gourmet Vegetarian pizza with half the amount of cheese, FTW! Be sure to check for coupons to save BIG.
I have never experienced a pizza place that wouldn’t take a credit card over the phone. Ever. This is ridiculous. The wife went out on errands and asked me to order a pizza to pick up. The two girls on the phone told me that though their credit card reader did in fact have a function to manually input credit card numbers AND that if I were standing in their restaurant with the card and they swiped it and it didn’t run that they would input the numbers then and there, that they would not take my number over the phone. Now, I imagine this simple-minded policy is somehow intended to combat credit card theft, however, all it’s managed to combat is my frequenting your business. I GUARANTEE that if I were standing in the restaurant and signed for a pizza on a credit card, the associates WOULDNOT check the signature – the original anti-theft feature of credit cards. They’d be too afraid of alienating customers by treating them like thieves – exactly what they did to me over the phone. I like this place, we order from them a lot. But I’m busy tonight and can’t make it out of the house so instead, I called the first pizza place I could think of. You know what they asked me before anything else? «Cash or card» and proceeded to take my number over the phone. It sure is nice when the business I want to spend my money with doesn’t treat me like a thief.

The people here are great; always seem to be in a good mood. I haven’t had a bad pizza from this location and they always get it right. My all time favorite pizza so far.

I was in Portland yesterday for the Open House at my Son’s school. It was a long and relatively expensive trip, but showing up for significant events in my Son’s life is priceless. The Portland Unified School District is also under some hard budget times, which means refreshments are basic and much appreciated. When you have several adolescent boys running around, quantity always beats quality. Hence, the Apizza Scholls experience and review will have to wait until the next trip. The bottom line is that the Pizza was hot, plentiful, and surprisingly good. The fellowship around this bread breaking was also a useful means to find out a few things about my son that I previously did not know. And it’s all good as it turns out. :)

Best Papa Murphy’s. They frequently have cast-off pizzas leftover at a screaming good deal. And leftover breads for $ 1. Go at the end of the night. Also, Papa Murph’s always has coupons in the Red Plum or other circulars. You can’t lose. And for takeout, it’s not *that bad* for you!

Consistently good quality inexpensive take and bake pizza. I especially love the Delight pizza with the super thin crust… it makes the pizza seem so much cheesier! Also, the cookie dough is ridiculously good, in case you are wanting to eat it raw or pop in a batch of cookies following your pizza. I always rely on the monthly flyers with coupons, they make the pizza super cheap!

Wow. I cannot get over how yummy our Chicken, Artichoke, Bacon pizza dinner was. I was not excited to get our pizza from this chain considering how many local pizza restaurants are in our area. But this pizza tops the charts! So much better that dealing with the ‘all hype no good’ more expensive pizza offered by A Pizza Scholls. Our pizza was completely covered with quality toppings. We paired our pizza with Jubelale from Freddy’s on a great sale and some football for a wonderful night. Thanks, Papa Murphy’s!
