PDX Pedicab

Perfect for out of towners, my partner and I were on vacation in Portland and I saw the groupon deal and I figured it would be a fun way to see a city that we had never visited before.
Our driver was Troy who courteously waited for us since we were about 10 minutes late to the rendezvous point. First he took us to a little bar next door to an amazing Mexican restaurant (the name escapes me now) and we had some if the best food we had on our whole trip. We offered to buy a beer for Troy but he thanked us and politely refused us stating that it was his personal policy to not drink while he was working.
We made 4 – 5 stops while Troy told us about several historic landmarks and recommended other activities to check out, all of which were a lot of fun.
I’ll definitely check out the distillery tour when I’m back in town. Thank you, Troy!

This was very near a five star rating but the reason it lost a star was not because of our genius tour guide, Andrew, but because we purchased the pedi-​can ride via Groupon. The Groupon was not clear on whether or not samples were included in the experience (they are not, bring cash) and it was vague on the number of breweries we visit. As Andrew explained, the number of breweries can vary… So much so that depending on your preference, you might venture outside the breweries and end up at a distillery. Apparently the couple he toured before were rather «boring» (this is according to Andrew) so they finished the standard three brewery tour rather fast so he took them to a fourth location. Overall our experience was fun and informative. I would recommend this experience to anyone like us; out-​of-​towners looking for some insight on the locals happenings.

Not worth your money! None of the beers are in included, so basically all your money goes to the pedicab rides (2 – 3 breweries), which we could have absolutely done walking…
Also, the drivers work for tips… So basically we ended up, getting her drinks, hanging out with her and tipping her more than what we originally paid for the rides. Although she was super nice, that wasn’t what we thought we would get out of the experience.
Next time, we’ll walk. It’ll be way cheaper and more fun to walk.

I was recommended by the Oregon Brewer’s Festival to reserve a pedicab in advance for the OBF parade, so I did. Not only did the pedicab never show up, but there was no answer at the phone number for pedicab dispatch. Very disappointing.

These guys are so great! This was my second time riding with them and it was so fun. Andrew took GREAT care of us. And I hired the pedicab to kick off my sister’s surprise bachelorette party, and the staff and our driver were really respectful of the fact that it was a surprise, and kept the details of the whole evening under wraps the whole time. Fantastic experience!

We saw this on Groupon for the Eastside Brewery Tour and bought it right away for out trip to Portland. Our driver was David, and we were his first tour riders at this job. He was very knowledgeable about beer and the area and SO friendly! He even offered to find an ATM for my friend and came back to get us because we needed more time at cascade. I would definitely book a tour with PDX Pedicab again!

We had such a blast with Joe as our guide. He went above and beyond o make sure our night was fun. So glad we chose PDX pedicabs over the other «tours». We saw a massive amount of the city and changed our route on the fly to experience different and upbeat places.

Our driver Matt was both friendly and knowledgeable he explained beers and there flavor profiles very well all of his suggestion were on point; at first I thought a 3^rd person on date night would be a drag but it was quite the opposite it was as if we kept running in to an old friend at each stop! What a lovely experience. Will definitely try some of there other tours and experiences.

Gina was our driver today and she was awesome. We had a fun tour of Portland and got to hit up great brew spots based on our beer preference. Gina really accommodated us and recommended beers and food that turned out to be excellent. She was also a lot of fun to be around and definitely made the day for us. She even took extra time out of her day to make sure our tour was leisurely and easy. Would definitely go on another tour with this company!

My husband and I lucked out in many ways. First off, we scheduled our trip for what turned out to be the last dry, sunny, warm Saturday of the season. Second, we got a great deal on Groupon. (I adore Groupon!) Third, we had Handsome Joe as our driver/​biker/​tour guide.
He individualized the tour for us (within reason, of course) and his suggestions were great. I am not much of a beer drinker, but I found something I loved at each place. The three places we went were all quite different, but all three were amazing; one in particular we will definitely be bringing out-​of-​town guests to.
It was a fun day all around. We had great beer and hard cider, saw a few parts of Portland we had never seen before, relaxed, met a cat at one of the breweries, and enjoyed beautiful weather!

I received a PDX Pedicab Eastside Brewery Tour as a gift for my birthday this year but we didn’t get a chance to utilize it until the end of summer. On a Sunday afternoon at 1pm in late September, three of my buddies and I met up at Madison Bar and Grill to begin our tour.
For $ 25 + tip, a «driver» bikes you and a friend around to different breweries for a couple hours. We had two drivers for the four of us and they were excited that they got to hangout while working. It was a beautiful day, clear sky and warm! For our first stop, they took us to Apex Bar which had an extensive beer list and plenty of outdoor seating. I had a red, I can’t recall the name of it but it was tasty. After hanging out for 20 – 30 minutes of so… we were on to our next destination, Baerlic Brewing Co. I didn’t know it existed! I love the minimalist atmosphere and décor of this brewery. My friend and I shared a sampler of five beers – my favorite being their Ultra Summer Ale. By this time, we were starting to feel it. Our last stop was the Common Brewery. I had a taste of one of their beers but I couldn’t handle anymore. Everyone was feeling it – one of our driver volunteered to finished my friend’s beer for him, that was awesome.
It was a fun experience. Our drivers (I’m sorry, I forgot your names) made it very entertaining and took us to some amazing locations that we haven’t been to before. Beer was great, we were shitty drunk at three in the afternoon on a Sunday. No one drove around drunk… it doesn’t get any better.

I will never again ride with PDX Pedicab. Our driver called us spoiled brats. Not sure how you come up with that sort of remark when you’re running a business that is offering an unnecessary and fun sort of service. I would recommend hiring people with true customer service skills — not over educated, under employed hippies with extreme resentment and attitude toward the customer base that pays for a fare. The attitude was hipster cliché even for Portland.

No better way to check out Portland’s top breweries, than by pedicab! Our driver, Mike, tailored our tour to our tastes (IPAs for my husband, Belgians and Saisons for me), recommended spot-​on beers to try and scored us a tour from the Baerlic Brewery brew master. Mike was very knowledgeable about both the beer and the neighborhood and was fun company on our Sunday Funday.

Reserved two cabs for family visiting from New Jersey, FAB driver Ryan and Easton really took care of us. We rode around from 5:30 — 8:00 taking pictures and stopping for some really great drinks! At 8:00 we went to Departure for dinner FREAKING AWSOME! This place was recommended to us by PDX Pedicab and they made the reservations for us. After dinner we rode around for some evening picture opportunities and a after dinner drink with VOODOO donughts:)
My guests were sooooo happy and I will use there services again and again!
Ryan and Easton were so accommodating we especially enjoyed our conversations with them and Easton’s moving poetry!!! LOVE THOSE GUYS!!!

Mike from PDX Pedicab was excellent. He knew the area and the breweries very well. I was impressed at how knowledgable he was with the different breweries styles. My girlfriend has never been a beer drinker but this was definitely an eye opening experience for her. This has to be one of the most highly recommend pedicabbers in the City of Portland!

We had Mike as a guide, and I must say he was very accommodating. Mike went out of his way to make us feel conferable and a good time was had both by my wife and I. I would recommend anyone to take this tour.

Mike made our trip so much fun! Being beer nerds, we’d already been to a lot of breweries that he had in mind, but he was able to work together a great trip with all new locations. It was pouring outside when we started, but Mike made my girlfriend and I comfortable. the rain shortly stopped, the rain doors opened and the rest of the ride was filled with laughter, great stories, great beer and some tips for some fun activities to do after the tour was done!

Our driver, Mathew (not Matt), was great! He was very knowledgable, professional, and friendly. He made suggestions of places to go, and based on our conversation at the first place he made an additional suggestion of a cider house. All of the locations were unique and had specialties, although a «tasting tray» was not available at all the places we went. Overall, it was a very relaxing and enjoyable time.
East side tours things to note:
There is not a storefront location– the pedicabs will arrive at the meeting place.
The groupon/​living social tour includes three locations; additional locations may be available for an additional charge.
Pedicab «drivers» are independent contractors, meaning they are not employees of the company, and therefore do not get paid by the company (this is typical of soliciting type sales jobs) the amount you pay is for cab maintenance and insurance.
Your driver will make suggestions based on your tastes (brewery tour)
Remember to bring cash– we found at least one of the places was «cash only»
There maybe a little storage for purchases.

PORTLAND, OREGON REVIEW #7 (THINGS TO DO)
I’ve always wanted to ride a Pedi-​cab (I think that’s what they call them). Every time we walk down San Francisco Pier, I would see people pass us and I always say to myself «I want to ride one of those». So, when there was a deal on Groupon for East Side Brewery pedi-​cab experience for $ 25. I jumped at the chance. I figured I would get the pedi-​cab experience and my honey can get the beer experience. Win! Win!
We met our driver at a meeting place. I wasn’t quite sure if it was the right place as it was a restaurant/​bar. Sure enough it was the right place. He explained his services and emphasized on tips (UGH!!).
We booked the last time slot available. I figured we can get the day and night experience. We went to 3 bars (Apex, Lucky Lab and Burnside), he also took us around to Ladd’s Rose Gardens Circle and Squares, and a Goat farm.
The ride was very nice. He provided us a blanket. He was more than happy to take pictures of the experience for us. He also told us the history, places to go and quick tips about Portland, which was very interesting. The only complaint I have is the deal stated «passengers sip samples» at each establishment. We didn’t get any samples. Also, our driver hanged out with us the first two stop, so I kind of felt obligated to buy him a drink. Luckily, at Burnside he gave us alone time.
So would I suggest this experience? I would do it again if it was a tour of Portland versus Brewery tour. The breweries are very close together, so you might as well just drive to the locations. The best part for me was experiencing this for the first time with my honey and most of all just cuddling in the back while someone else is driving.

I did the East Side Brew Tour. It was a beautiful sunny day– Perfect for Pedicabbing. Our tour guides were there to have a good time, obviously enjoyed their jobs and were well knowable about the delicious breweries we would be sampling. They changed up the tour stops based on what we’d ordered at the first stop, which i thought was really cool.
I had purchased the groupon for the event. So I was only out $ 25 for our adventure. I was surprised that the event only included the pedicab. I figured that there would be something –like one sample per brewery or something, which is my misunderstanding and not that big of a deal. The guides were a lot of fun to hang out with so it made for a good afternoon.
The guide did mention that the only money that they made were from tips, which felt a little weird since the tour cost (without the groupon) $ 50, it didn’t make sense that the only thing we got was a chariot ride and entertainment from the guides. But we tipped accordingly and had a good time.
