Performance Works NorthWest || Linda Austin Dance (PWNW) engages artists and audiences of the Pacific Northwest in the process of experimentation, creation and dialog around the presentation of contemporary performance. As an artist-focused incubator for new time-based work, we nurture local artistry while linking Portland audiences and artists to regional, national and international artists whose work challenges and inspires.

Programs include performances, space rental for rehearsals and intimate performances, developing new work by Linda Austin Dance, residencies for local and visiting artists, a movement class for kids 6 – 10 and more.

History

Established in 2000.

PWNW was founded by Linda Austin & Jeff Forbes in 1999 and received its 501©(3) status the same year. Our space opened in the Foster-Powell neighborhood of SE Portland in 2000 and since then has been a vibrant site for rehearsals, workshops, classes and performances. PWNW has also produced performances of Linda Austin Dance at venues such as Conduit, the Echo Theatre, Imago Theatre and in warehouses and galleries.
