We are masters of the «Invisible Addition.» Our residential projects have been featured in the Oregonian, NW Renovation Magazine and elsewhere for their sensitive design solutions. The articles focus on the design of new features and even entire second floors that blend so seamlessly with the existing that they are «invisible.»

History

Established in 1999.

After 20 years employed as an architect, John Perkins established his firm in the heart of the historic Hollywood neighborhood of northeast Portland. The company has experienced steady growth and has 2 employees plus John. Our commercial work is known for it’s iconic forward looking style. Our residential remodeling projects on the other hand have been recognized in the press for being «Invisible Additions» which is the design quality where new and existing blend seamlessly. Known as the «Hollywood Architect», John has been active and a leader with the Hollywood Boosters, Hollywood Neighborhood Association, Hollywood Lions, Central Northeast Neighbors, and other civic groups.

Meet the Business Owner

John P.

Business Owner

John earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon in 1977, became a registered Oregon Architect in 1981, and recently completed the Sustainable Building Advisor Program through Cascadia Region Green Building Council. His experiences over the last 30 years have included a wide range of projects, including, public multi-​family housing, industrial, high-​tech, health care, jails, offices, single-​family dwellings, and commercial tenant improvements.

His humor and zest for life keeps him active as an old boy rugby player, and he loves to travel to Italy with his wife and friends. Ireland is his current destination though as his oldest daughter lives in Ennis, Ireland and recently gave birth to his first granddaughter!
