Portland Community College – Southeast Campus

As a transfer from California i must admit that i find the staff rather nice and helpful. The campus (SE) is apparently there newest one but, still looks a bit dated.
Will update as soon as I begin classes.

I love my campus! It’s my second term here & I gotta say it’s a good school, the teachers are nice & the school is smaller than most community colleges I have seen but the location is convenient & close to where I live

They only get four because I Want to be able to give them 5 once they open as PCC’s fourth official full service campus. President Jessica Howard is energetic, passionate, and committed to serving the SE community and improving student outcomes in the process.

I started PCC because they have an okay reputation for easily transferring your credits to a university. I dealt with them back in the early 90’s and thought they were some of the rudest people ever. Apparently, those same people spread the rude germ around and there was no cure.
The attitude stuck like they are doing you a favor for you bringing your money there, but they have a large selection of classes. I went to this campus for several classes and it was mixed bag. People complain about community school instructors, but may not realize most of them teach at Concordia and Portland State University. Everyone of my teachers I have had teach at all three colleges, and they don’t hang their personalities up at the door, so if you get a goof ball teacher at PCC you will get that same goof ball at PSU for triple your money.
Every campus has a personality and SE campus is no exception. I liked it because parking was easy and is smaller so you can just get from one class to another in less than two minutes. It would be easy to start rating teachers here but there is no point, the spread on good to crazy instructors can be found anywhere there are schools. I’ve had them all here and at the universities. Money will not buy you a sane teacher.

Ok, so SE Center doesn’t have the selection of classes that Sylvania and Cascade have, but I really like my experience here.
The campus is small, so I don’t have to walk all over in the rain, the parking is a walk in the park compared to Sylvania (I’ve never once have been late to class at SE Center due to parking bullshittery). And the classes I’ve taken are great.
The added perk is also it’s super close to my ‘hood so I only have to leave for class fifteen minutes before I need to be there, wahoo!

you will get some form of education. Grading will not make sense as everyone (most) passes classes. Teaching staff is a bit of a joke unless you have a department head. Group activities in most classes and they SUCK. I am on the deans list and have yet to be challenged by this school in any class. If you are returning adult they will give you almost NO help and the staff will make sure your uncomfortable with each turn of interaction (ie registration, enrollment, guidance. etc).They are a bit racist in an attempt to over compensate for diversity. 90% of all staff at food courts are Asian and they are mostly rude and crude in the dealings with «customers». Large portions of the staff favor non-​English speakers and they get an almost free ride. So there you have it.

While the classes and education cant be beat for the oney, the NASTY old heffers in the bookstore should be sent out with the recycling bins. They do their best to not help anyone find a book or answer a question. Go online when looking for your books, you can find them MUCH cheaper.
