Description

Specialties

Portland Magician and Mentalist Hart Keene specializes in entertainment at corporate, college, and private events. He combines expert sleight-of-hand magic, sophisticated psychological illusions, and comedy to create a one of kind experience for his audiences. He offers both roaming ‘mingle’ entertainment as well as stage shows and larger presentations. All of his shows are interactive and can be customized to fit any type of event, large or small.

History

Established in 2002.

Hart’s interest in magic started at the age of 15 after his high school Spanish teacher showed him a card trick. It was at that moment that he knew what he wanted to do with his life. He had been bitten by the ‘magic bug’…

He continued to perform as much as he could through college, mostly at social functions and the occasional paid booking. When he was 21 he landed his first regular, weekly paid gig at a restaurant in Albany, OR. It was there that he was able to hone his skills and develop the interactive style you see today. This and the other restaurants he picked up paved the way to more and more outside work. Now, almost 12 years later, Hart performs over 250 shows per year all over the Northwest for corporate, college, fairs, and private functions.

In 2010 Hart appeared on the hit show, NBC’s «America’s Got Talent!». He received a «yes» from Judge Howie Mandel but a «no» from Judges Sharon Osborne and Piers Morgan. «It was a great experience!», says Hart.

Meet the Business Owner

Hart K.

Business Owner

Hart was born in Roseburg, OR in 1981. Shortly after, his family moved north to Eugene where he was raised and attended college.

After college, he worked in insurance as an agent with Farmers. Because of his love of boating, he took a job in boat sales a few years later. When the recession hit in the summer of 2008 boat sales (along with real estate and auto sales) came to a stop, forcing the boat lot to close its doors.

It was at that time that Hart was at a crossroad, he had always performed as an entertainer part time. Was it something that he could do full-time and ‘live the dream’, as they say? Hart decided to go for it and never look back.

Now over 5 years later, he couldn’t be happier with his decision to go full-time into performing. «Everything happens for a reason, when one door closes, another opens», Hart says.

Now based in Portland, Hart’s hobbies include wakeboarding, snowboarding, reading, gardening, and traveling.
