Ok when did laundry mats start charging more for hot water? .50 for hot v cold per washer? Pratt is a huge company. Really chintzy policy. I’d like to favor the locals but there aren’t many out side of downtown. I continue to feel ripped off at their locations. Could someone please open a few more local, clean and fair laundromats?

I am unhappy with my most recent experience at the Pratt Abbott located at 1364 Congress St
Portland Maine 4 102. I came to drop off dry cleaning (7 pairs of pants), but was forced to wait at the empty counter while the store associate «Lee» was out front smoking with her friend. This was not a good experience.

It’s clean, has a dry cleaners inside as well.
They have about 4 different sizes of washers. The largest cost $ 5.75, I believe.
The smallest is $ 2.50 but since there are not enough spaces to put quarters, you have to put $ 1.25 quarters in twice.
Dryers: 2 sizes, but not much difference on the size. Smaller one is $ 0.25 for 7 minutes, while the larger one is $ 0.25 for 5 mins.
Sink in the back is nice so I can wash out my detergent (liquid) cap.
Plenty of wired baskets for when clothes are done.
I usually avoid weekends, those tend to be busier times, but other than that, it’s clean, affordable, and gets the job done!
Plenty of parking outside since it’s in a plaza.
