This experience started over a year ago. But, just as we were about to move forward, a financial issue arose. Fast forward a year and I reached out to Josh to hopefully begin again. He still had the plans from before and came back out to go over things for phase one of our plan to make our yard look beautiful.
He and his team arrived on the day we set and they went to work. He gave me a quick tour and explained how everything would go down. His team was so polite and worked like champs. Not only did they do everything as planned, but went above and beyond which included cleaning up a space that was not actually part of the job. Sure, it was a small strip, but that was a welcome and unexpected treat. The yard looks amazing and Josh went over everything with me on how to care for the various plants.
When the job was done, his team cleaned the area and even the street in front and made this experience amazing. Not only that, his price destroyed the competition. I can’t wait for phase two and three. I will be returning to Josh and his people anytime I have something I need handled in my yard.

My husband and I really enjoyed working with Josh because he has a strong design sense, and is also a major plant expert. He knows every plant and flower and can tell you whether it will thrive in your garden or not. He’s also just a cool guy and fun to talk to. Hector and Marcos installed our gorgeous bluestone patio, and worked with us to make it to our exact specification. They worked hard, and kept a good attitude and smiles throughout the process.
Precision landscaping really lives up to their name. Our patio and plantings were installed with precision. We also had them build us a planter box, which matches our fence.
They arrived on-​time and finished the job as quoted. When we had various concerns along the way, Josh was there to talk us through everything. It was nice to have it be a collaborative process. We ended up adding some things, and felt his pricing was fair.
We highly recommend working with Precision for your next landscaping project. I’m sure we’ll be working with them again in the future!

Josh and his team did a great job transforming our backyard into our contemporary vision. Josh was always prompt starting from showing up on time for the quote (wish I could say the same for all contractors). He listened to our vision to have a minimalist landscape with a very contemporary feel. He made great suggestions along the way.
When it came time to excavate and plant, his team was courteous and efficient. They always cleaned up well at the end of the day, and in the end we are very happy with the results. The bid was competitive against a couple others.
Overall our project was fairly straight forward since we had a vision to start, but Josh and his team helped make it a reality.

They kinda bury the lead on their website.
If you have a minimum job fee of $ 1500, then you need to let people know that before they fill out the questionnaire.

Precision just finished completely landscaping our backyard — new patio, new lawn, new plantings, gate, fence & landing — and we couldn’t be more pleased. Josh was just great, expertly guiding us through the design process right through the final selection of trees and shrubs. The work crew was thoroughly professional, very efficient and above all, friendly — a pleasure to have around. Our project was completed ahead of schedule and right on budget. Highly recommended!

My experience with this group is now characterized by highs and lows. I’ve preserved my original review from this time last year below, originally 5 stars. Given my enthusiasm, I signed up for the monthly maintenance, for a fee of $ 265 a month — on the high end for my location and size. This fee is augmented by numerous clauses, now seen clearly as accelerators, in their contract, some of which are NOT quantified — instead enumerated under the now onerous sounding «billed on a labor and materials basis». I’ve listed my actuals over the last 12 months for the reader’s benefit.
For the 2015 Winter pruning I was charged over $ 1,000 for the work they did in one day. No agreed upon plan, no estimate, no phone call, no communication. Just an invoice 30 days after the fact that was almost 500% larger than usual. While perhaps in compliance with the letter of the contract, not exactly a fair practice nor smart move from a small business owner.
One should keep in mind that this comes on top of $ 1,700 in late summer cleanup done in 2014, when I first contracted with the group.
So, I went back to the agreement and noticed they intend to charge the same for the Summer, and do it three times! Meaning, if I let the contract play out, I would be on the hook for ~$ 9,000 in total costs, or $ 755 averaged over 12 months.
Keep in mind, this is just routine maintenance of a normal close-​in Portland property and does not include tree work — they won’t get on a ladder. Insane.
I feel bad airing this out, because they have been good people, but at the very least this is bad management — with nearly unlimited cost exposure to the property owner.

Epic! Troy and his team are maniacs! I had some SERIOUSLY deferred maintenance and had called Troy a week before a big party at my house. They brought a large crew and a few trucks and kicked-​butt nonstop all day long. Result? The property looks amazing and my wife is off my back. I signed up for the routine maintenance plan as well and now my house looks like it’s owned by a meticulous landscape freak! These guys are the best!!!

Josh and his crew at Precision Landscape did fantastic work with our landscape: we appreciated their attention to details and high quality work.
They installed a retaining wall to level the back yard, planted trees, laid new grass and did landscaping on our front yard. They did a perfect clean up, finished on time and on budget. Their price is very competitive and well worth the money.
Josh listened to all our priorities and turned our ideas into a vision that is both creative and practical. He respectfully steered us in the right direction with plant choices and shared the design reasons for those choices. I must mention that his landscaping crew was very courteous and outstanding in general.
We really enjoyed working with Josh and are very happy with our new backyard. We’d hire Precision Landscape again in a heartbeat!

I was really disappointed in this company. My family and I have a large yard and are not familiar with lawn care or the process that it takes to get what we are looking for. We decided to get bids from more then one company. I waited a week for their bid and to come in but it did not. When I called to check on it they informed me that they decided not to bid on the job. He said that after I told him that I was having 2 other companies come to give information and pricing they did not want to waste time on someone who was looking for the lowest bid.
Having our lawn redone is an investment. We were not looking for the lowest bid but the most reasonable bid that accomplished what we needed with the best customer service. I run my own business and work with many families in Portland. I understand you can not take every client or job but as a business owner and a homeowner in Portland I am more then upset by the way I was treated.

As the name implies, David, Tony, and their horticultural crew accurately assessed our outdoor needs. Taming of the jungle was carried out with speed and deftness.
Their advice complements the visions we carry and conjure for the space. Their scheduled maintenance ensures that, each time we step outdoors, a garden paradise awaits.
