This place rocks! Ok, first I have to say that I have a limited experience with Korean beauty stores, but this store had everything I wanted and more. I’ve recently tried to get more educated after coming back from Hawaii where Korean products are more popular. Face Shop, Tony Moly, Nature Republic, it’s here! Face masks, BB cream, cushion compact, snail extract, that’s here too. Yes, I know this store geared toward the twenty something’s, but I need cute stuff from Korea & Japan too!
The store is well lit, very organized and the shop girl working there is super helpful. She greeted me and then stood behind the counter. But when I asked a question for opinion, she was so helpful! So many times at other places, I hear «they’re all good!». I also liked that they had all the items available to try. I’m sure it’s not gonna have as many products as the stores in Seoul or LA but this is enough for me. As a bonus, I received lots of samples.

This is my second visit to the store and I absolutely adore this place! Even though I am only looking for certain things I find myself looking at EVERYTHING the store offers. I was looking for a specific Étude brand eye cream which they didn’t have, but one of the girls working asked if I had any questions about anything and I told her that I was looking for an eye cream suitable towards somewhat sensitive skin and she gave me two recommendations and made up some samples for me to try out before I make a final decision. The girls are super friendly and I never felt rushed or pressured while I took my time looking at all they offer and I love their wide assortment that they offer in the store.

Lots of cute stuff to buy, I ended up purchasing 4 face masks also got a free gift for checking in, the woman who helped me also gave me lots of samples to try out definitely will be going back

The store itself is very nice and organized which I like but as I walk in the two workers gave me a disgusted look. As soon as that happened I didn’t even bother looking around I just left. I’m sure the products are good but the staff needs to be more considerate and respectful.

A bit torn about Pretty & Cute… They do have a pretty good selection of cosmetics and skincare products, but I would say that at least half the products I’ve purchased have been big fails in terms of quality and effectiveness. The store is not to blame, of course. Perhaps I just happened to

I’m really sad to give pretty & cute only two stars because they were my favorite place to get lashes. But unfortunately I’m still upset about what happened in December. Before I moved to LA back in September 2013, I stocked up on my favorite lashes, and when I visited Portland in December the same year, I came back to do some more shopping and I told the sales associate Jasmine that I had moved and just wanted to stock up because there was no pretty and cute and LA. I feel she took advantage of that and convinced me to buy products I didn’t need

This place is so cute! The girls were very helpful, I wish I knew their names so I could give them credit! I was simply looking for a moisturizer and the quality of the products are nothing compared to sephora or ulta. If they weren’t so FAR AWAY I would be stopping by way more often. Open a location in Beaverton please?!

It’s incredibly hard not to buy everything in this store upon your first visit! It’s all soooooo cute!
I was able to restrain myself and use logic when picking out items to purchase.
The make up was lack luster. Everything I tested was very sheer and didn’t stand out to me.
I ended up getting their piggy face-​washing cleanser and I LOVE it.
The sales girls were very helpful when I admitted to not knowing what the heck I was doing while shopping and they suggested popular products in the store.

The best place to go for Korean makeup and makeup accessories. Lashes, brushed, masks, washes. Reasonable prices and they are very generous with samples.

I like the concept of this store. They have a nice variety of face masks that I love! I can’t wait to try the products I purchased. I wish they had a larger selection and more merchandise, a few of the items I wanted were not on the shelves. Also the sales associate hid behind the computer monitor and wasn’t as helpful as I anticipated from the previous reviews. I really like the website and I will order more products from the website.

Pretty and cute well it sure the hell is! I too was lured into the shop with his wide selection of BB cream. It’s located right next to Fubon so of course you have do both!
I adored this shop! Super bright, clean, they have testers for everything! Try before you buy? Take that Internet! Some things are worth paying for. I found the staff to be sweet and helpful and I loved all the free samples they gave me.
Last night I used one of the moisturizing masks I bought and today my skin is soft as milk. I’m really happy I found you guys!

OH. MY. GOD. Ruth is AMAZING. I’d give her 10 stars if Unilocal would let me.
I was in a pinch and super desperate since I’m my BFF’s bridesmaid and I couldn’t find the lashes I was looking for: Étude House Vivid #3 and Vivid Long #4. And the wedding is next week!
And before I go on, let me explain my real lashes are pretty sad excuses for eyelashes — practically non-​existent. So I sure as h*ll am not showing up with «bald» eyes.
And normally, since I’m in California, I’d to buy these online. But the
had Vivid Long #4 out of stock. So I tried the next best thing: amazon, ebay, etc. you name it. But they were all sold out or wouldn’t make it to California in time.
Thankfully, at some point during my internet research I found out pretty & cute had a retail store in Portland. (Sadly, this actually took me a while to figure out since for some reason I at first thought Pretty and Cute was only an online store). So I called the retail store up and relayed my situation to Ruth.
Ruth was super friendly and super helpful. She wasn’t able to take a phone order for the retail store to ship to California, but she was able to find some Vivid Long #4 in the store and added it to the online inventory (within minutes! I mean, I called on a Saturday so I figured it’d take until Tuesday after Labor Day or at least at while since the store could have been super busy with Saturday shoppers. But I think that just goes to show how much customer service means to Ruth and that how well-​staffed Pretty&Cute Retail is). Ruth also walked me through which shipping options were best for my needs.
But when I ran into a shipping snag, Ruth was on top of it too! It turns out prettyandcute.com’s shipping webpage states they offer 2-​day Fedex, which just makes it in time for the wedding day — given there’s no shipping on Labor Day. But the checkout page for
has a shipping drop down menu with only 3-​day Fedex shipping … which could mean my lashes missing me by one day. Ruth explained it should be 2 day shipping and that the 3 day listing was likely typo. But, to be safe, she offered to contact the powers that be on the
side to clarify things too.
I also separately looked up that Fedex has both a 2 day service and a 3 day Fedex Saver service. So at the moment, I’m not sure how fast
will ship my lashes — i.e. will it come in time for the wedding? But I guess I’ll find out once I get my tracking #.
But in the meantime, I just wanted to post this to thank Ruth for the amount of care she put into helping me. I understand most retail associates don’t have the capabilities or time to do everything Ruth did, so I’m really appreciative of that.
Oh, and I’ll update my post once I get my lashes — i.e. if they came on time or not, and what prettyandcute really offers 2day shipping as on their shipping webpage or 3day as on their checkout menu.

The name definitely reflects the shop! Upon entering I noticed how clean and sleek the shop looked. Absolutely no clutter, which I love. They sell so many Asian beauty products here from the ever-​so-​popular dolly wink eyeliner to the palty hair dyes. I did notice that many of the hair dyes on display were all similar in tones (brownish brass colors) and less of the ash tones, but I didn’t ask the sales associate for more options, so they might have had more. The staff seemed friendly and personable. They seemed very knowledgable about the products they carry, which is always reassuring. In terms of price, I’ll be honest and say that it is up there. But then again, most Korean and Japanese products do fall within that price range!

This place is almost paradise!. Now that it has moved into the Fuban marketplace it’s so easy to access. If you have any questions, the employees are super approachable and more than happy to help. I love asian cosmetics, but am ADDICTED to their skin care. Yes, the prices can be sort of high, but that’s to be expected! This is an import store, and I love being able to get instant gratification. I can’t recommend it enough! They give tons of samples with purchase (and probably without, I’ve just never been able to leave empty handed.) They also offer a 12% student discount. Finding that out made my day!
They have a very large selection of sheet masks, and will walk you through the benefits of each one. The cosmetics section is phenomenal, and full of testers. Some of the products have translations, but they are there to answer any question you may have. (which BB cream is best? Is this a face mask or hand cream? Why does everything have weird owls on them?)
Can’t get enough of the place.

I dropped by this store quite by accident. I had shopping to do at nearby Fubonn, and was surprised and pleased to see the attractive store front. Do not be dissuaded from entering the store if you’re an «older» woman with mature skin. Under that «cute» persona lies a store that sells quality products for Asian women/​men. I’m sure they target younger people (teens to 30ish) but for an over 50 Japanese woman like myself, I was impressed by the selection of products for my skin type and color. I know that Asians have a difficult time finding the right foundation (shade) for their skin. I actually found several products that will work well for me, and the prices are very reasonable.
I’ve heard BB creams are the new rage now, with Oprah and Dr. Emmett Oz singing its praises. BB creams are similar to a foundation with moisturizers and sunscreen (various levels of SPF) built into them. Some even contain anti-​aging products. I knew little about this product from Korea, so the education I received here was invaluable.
Pretty & Cute carries an array of BB creams and I was welcomed to sample various lines before I purchased anything. I was assisted by Janet who was friendly, competent, and helpful. This was the best customer service I have received in the years I have been frequenting make up counters at large department stores like Nordstroms and Macys. I was not rushed, and I was not pressured to buy anything. I would highly recommend this store to any person who needs help with their beauty needs. I will definitely be back to make a purchase after deciding on the right color!

Happy to find this little shop that sells lots of imported Asian cosmetics. They have a very big selection of BB cream with testers. I finally got to try the Holika Holika BB creams which are much harder to find in other stores than Skin79 and Missha. Prices are quite high here but you could always try some products out and then go online to find lower prices.

Stop by Pretty&Cute if you want 100% authentic Korean and Japanese brand cosmetics. I haven’t met all the sales associates yet, but every girl I’ve been introduced to are super friendly and knowledgeable about the products they are selling. I love trying out all the BB creams when I’m in the store. I’d have to say the Korean BB creams have so much more coverage than American brand bb creams (I’ve tried Garnier, Ponds, and Loreal — they’re lacking in coverage). The Lioele Korean brand is amazing! And I recommend their WaterDrop Sleeping Pack! You can feel the difference in moisture on your face after just the first try. If you’re not sure about it yet, ask them for a sample — they’re great about giving samples :) oh and the store fits the name perfectly — it’s very pretty and cute!

When I went into the shop, I wanted to pass out because of the markups of the products are so HIGH.
Their mizon snail multifunction cream for 75ml is $ 40 vs ebay $ 18
Their snail recovery gel is $ 20 vs ebay $ 6
Their Skin79 Snail Nutrition BB Cream is $ 39 vs ebay $ 17
Their Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream is $ 30 vs $ 12 on ebay
In the example above, if I bought from this store it would cost me $ 129 and on ebay for $ 53… This is a $ 76 dollar difference
On ebay there are a good amount of reputable sellers that give samples and free shipping! I would avoid this store. Or I would use
A lot of places offer faster shipping for $ 2.50 so you can get it in a week vs 10 business days.
They need to lower their prices or just be an online store.

I actually didn’t even plan on going here in the first place. I was there to grab some groceries from Fubonn, but as soon as I saw the big pink banner saying «PRETTY AND CUTE, carrying Korean and Japanese beauty products,» I knew I just had to go in. I’ve been sort of interested in trying Korean and Japanese products, but really didn’t want to buy them online, so having a store where I can try them out first is nice.
As soon as I got in, a super friendly associate greeted me and gave a summary of what they carry. They have Japanese and Korean cosmetics, fragrances, skin care products, hair dye, hair care, and accessories. They also have testers for the cosmetics, fragrances, and some of the skin care products, which is super nice for people like me who are not super familiar with them. Since I’m trying not to buy more makeup, and I’ve heard the skin care products were pretty good, I grabbed a box of nose strips (since I’ve heard they’re better than the stuff from the drugstore.) I got two samples with my purchase, which again, is pretty awesome since it gives me an opportunity to try more products.
As for the nose strips, it worked awesomely! I haven’t tried the samples yet, but if they work well enough, I’ll most likely grab a full sized version of it when I come back.
Now I feel a bit pretty and cute!

Made my first trip in tonight. New Unilocal customers get a free gift with purchase, depending on what you purchase. And depending on what they have on hand. I got a free full size eyeshadow applicator.
Housed in a small storefront, behind a sausage place and car lot, this place is a hidden little gem. They have hundreds of products. I don’t know of any place locally that sells Fairy Drops or Lioele. They have so much stuff. And to boot, they have a trial counter where you can try out just about any BB cream (they stock between 25 – 50 different ones!). Prices were high, but expect that for imports. They had tons of stuff, don’t be fooled by the tiny room. Most of the products I’m familiar with would be considered high-​end and retail at a Sephora-​equivalent. Nice stuff!
Sales staff were knowledgeable and friendly, if not a little overbearing. I think the small space contributes to that.
They also have a points system where you get a point for every dollar you spend, or something like that. First time users get a 10% coupon to use whenever you want in the calendar year, one time.
They have nail polish, BB creams, gel liners, balms, glosses, fake lashes… tons of stuff. It’s a trek down 99 but it’s worth it if you’re into asian beauty stuff!
