Recycled Chic Consignment

They have a really nice collection of items that are in excellent condition. I have a hard time shopping for my wife, but the purse collection here is off the hook, and it’s one size fits all.

Vintage and consignment shops are totally my thing. I know good shit when I see it. This is a nice space but frankly, their stuff bores me. There is hardly anything of interest in here. I’ve been in several times just to see if it ever gets any better. Nope, it doesn’t.
In a city that is teeming with beaucoup and really rad vintage and consignment shops, this is a competitive market and you must be creative with your inventory. Grandma sweaters and granola-​bar gear is not interesting. Well, at least not to me. I can see from other reviews that you do appeal to some folks… *shaking my head in bewilderment* as I read those reviews. I do hope those reviewers go out and experience some of Portland’s really cool vintage shops.
Yes, the folks that work here are nice. Please nice folks, work harder at cultivating an inventory of unique items that entice and enthrall. Of course I’ll be back to see if things improve.
2015 — Review # 95

Terrific store! It’s not huge so they do a great job of curating the clothes and picking really great pieces. Some really wonderful high-​end pieces. I got a beautiful Nanette Lepore sweater today at a great price. I had to tear myself away and can’t wait to return. Very friendly sales staff too. An all-​around great experience.

Just found this place via other positive Unilocal reviews, and I am here to add more! I really enjoyed this charming shoppe; it’s selection, the quality, and the young women working were all very pleasant. The prices were fair and I cannot wait to go back here!

This is, by far, the best consignment store I’ve ever shopped (Portland or otherwise). I work a few blocks away and have to stop myself from wandering over here more than a few times a month (because I always find something I want!).
The owner is so nice and helpful, plus she will let you browse without pushing anything on you. Even though the space is small, it’s neatly organized and full of well curated designer clothes, shoes, bags, and sunglasses. Nothing here looks shabby or ‘worn’ and is all in new or like new condition. If shoes have a bit of wear on the soles, she makes sure that’s reflected in the price.
Speaking of price, I feel like she’s extremely fair in her pricing structure. This isn’t Goodwill, so don’t expect $ 10 shirts. But you will find beautiful designer shirts (Joie, Tory Burch, Kate Spade, Burberry, etc) for about what you’d pay new for something from Banana Republic. These are quality pieces that will last you years and years.. on trend, but still very classic.
I’ve never consigned here, but I get the idea that she has repeat consigners and loyal customers. Some of my favorite things have come from this store and I’ve been happy with every transaction.

A well curated selection of affordable high end pieces… what more can one ask for? Oh yeah friendly, informative service and a fantastic location. Five stars all the way.

I always visit this place when I’m in town. It is small but filled with designer treasures at good prices. The clothes I like are not always in my size, but when I find something it is always a treat.

Just soooo good! You could fortunately find a nice cashmere sweater around $ 50, a leather jacket under $ 100 etc. The owner is so kind and adorable. The shop is small and a lot of people coming by, but there is two fitting room and a big mirror as well so no problem to do your way.

Very disappointed! I don’t care how small the shop is, she could pack 100 times the amount of clothes in there! Her shop is bare bones, hardly any inventory! Shopping is about options, especially second hand shopping. I mean there was NOTHING in that shop! Maybe 10 tops on each rack & there are only a couple of racks! Just a FEW pairs of shoes… not a handbag in sight. What is this??? I thought maybe there was a back part to the shop where everything was kept… but that was it. Beyond disappointing! What she had wasn’t even that great! On the up side, she did greet me when I walked in, so at least she acknowledges her customers & the shop is cute although bare.

Stumbled into this shop with my wife. She saw some quality designer items she liked. Although the shop is small, she loved the selection and style of the purses and dresses. Emily’s customer service was barnone. Will definitely check back with them for more great finds!

I Love this store! It is full of amazing quality treasures.
I have consigned some of my items with great return. If I am looking for something particular Qristy will find the item for me, and keeping me up to date. I also experienced a lovely sales girl named Emily, she is also very helpful and knows her products.
Customer service is ABOVE and BEYOND… warm friendly environment, and knowledgable about their products.

LOVE this place. The prices are amazing for what you’re getting. Everything is meticulously chosen and in perfect condition. It’s a great alternative to places like Buffalo Exchange and Crossroads, and I go here when I don’t feel like digging through racks of gross clothes to find one hidden gem. Everything in this store is a gem.
Qristy is adorable and so nice. She knows so much about the clothes, it feels like I’m going through her own personal closet. I’ve experienced one other sales girl, who was polite, but aloof. I’m moving to another state soon, but will definitely keep Recycled Chic’s website on my Bookmarks, in case anything pops up that I want to have shipped to me.

Just bought a huge $ ticket item via online since i live on the east coast. Sounds scary doesn’t it?! I sure was. just like everyone says, Qristy is ah-​mazing. She was so patient and sweet in putting my fears aside and walked me thru the process even though I was annoying and paranoid at this point due to the item I was buying. She provided all the proof I needed to know the item was authentic and she even let me have the option of returning it if not satisfied! Of course I was. I had the item authenticated by a third party and sure enough it was legit like she said. Now I have no hesitation in doing future business with Recycled Chic. Qristy is one of the few people in this retail industry that are truly nice AND honest! Buy with confidence here. PM Me if you need more info about my experience. I LOVE this shop. I wander over on my lunch breaks occasionally and they always have new clothing to look at. I have bought several pieces there that I wear constantly! I loooove designer clothes but hate spending a ton of money to get them, this is the perfect shop for me! When I was in the other day, they had a $ 10 t-​shirt box that I grabbed a couple tops out of… such a good deal!

This Place is fabulous ! I shop here all of the time. I have bought cole haan boots,
channel purses, 7 mankind jeans and tory burch ballet slippers. My most recent find is a Marc Jacobs leather jacket for a really great price. Its the best way to purchase designer stuff in really good shape for a wonderful price. Thanks !

Qristy the proprietress of this place is awesome. Though the store is small she keeps the inventory limited to designer names in great condition. The service is very personal as well as she remembers you when you come in and emails you with specific items that come in which you are hunting for. If you’re a die hard vintage/​thrifter the prices may be a bit higher than you are used to second hand, but this place is perfect for a die hard shopper looking for a steal. I always feel good buying from here as I am always pleased as punch with my purchases while supporting a local female entrepreneur.

This teeny weeny little shop, roughly the size of a broom closet, is such a great find for ladies who want to look and feel amazing in designer clothing, but are savvy enough to avoid laying down the big bucks to do it.
This review’s centered around Qristy, because to shop here, is really to shop her. Girl knows her clothes, has a great eye for fashion, and flips some great designer pieces. Purses, shoes, boots, tops, dresses, and an amazing selection of super affordable designer jeans.
I always bring my fashion-​forward out of town friends to her shop, and they always leave giddy over some fantastic find. I converted a friend from Canada with a pair of grey leggings who still emails me to rave about how much she loves her pants.
Qristy really understands the role of buyer and seller. She knows what’s hot and what her regulars want. She knows her clients by name, and by favorite designer, and continually turns the store to keep her pieces in season.
This is a great little shop — highly recommended!

This place is ultra rad. You would be doing yourself a disservice by driving by.

If you’re looking for a high-​end consignment store, go to Seams to Fit on NW Raleigh and 23^rd… it is the best of the best. Recycled Chic Boutique is small and has a very limited selection.
Beware to those selling — when you sign the «consignment» contract, you give them permission to donate your clothes after 90 days if it doesn’t sell. They don’t call or e-​mail to see if you’d like to come back and reclaim your items so make sure you mark 90 days on your calender if you want them back, or want to try and sell them some place else. I would recommend sellers bring their things to Seams to Fit to begin with, it gets a lot more foot traffic and women in PDX line up outside their doors for their two sales per year.
