I have been involved in various artistic endeavors since I was 12 years old. I started in theatre and quickly found myself booking commercials, television shows, and feature films. Sensing a need for more freedom to choose my own projects, I eventually evolved into a producer, director and writer. I wanted to get away from the framework of enacting fiction and instead highlight the power of real individual expression.

The goal of my images is not to create something beautiful – it’s to find something beautiful. I have developed a skill in making people comfortable and capturing moments that uniquely belong to them. I see every shoot as an improvisation exercise designed to give a sense of play to develop each subject’s own personal form of expression. The result is a strong candid sensibility but with a retained empowerment of my subjects.
