Wow!!! Christine is a truly compassionate and competent healer. She and her husband run a great walk-in clinic off of Foster. Together, they team up with acupuncture, cupping, and acupressure and it is obvious that they genuinely care about helping people. I was just there yesterday feeling really out of whack due to what I thought was over-exertion in a hot yoga class the day before… A few weeks earlier I had strained my shoulder and they both proceeded to tell me how this was affecting my lung meridian resulting in feelings of malaise and difficulty breathing, and this had created a downward spiral of dehydration. It was the malaise, or feeling of being a bit out of it, that prompted me to go seek them out. I’d been there a few years prior and had since moved away from that side of the city, but it was well worth the drive! Once they started the process, I fell asleep with the warm heat lamp shining on my toes. When I awoke, I thought only a few minutes had passed — I had been there 2 ½ hours! And, they just let me rest while treating clients in other rooms… Then, Christine loaded me up with a bunch of herbs and recommendations before I left. All for a mere $ 60… How can you beat that??? I would have gladly paid three times that amount for how I woke up feeling this morning! This is the place to go with your ailments and your general-wellbeing-maintenance. Wherever you are in Portland, its worth a little drive and not having to do the scheduling dance. I believe the clinic is open Monday-Friday from 3 – 7 and Saturday for a while also during the mid afternoon. Also, the address shown is for the old location. Now, it is off of 76th I believe, and on the opposite side of Foster. Call with questions.

It was one of those days when I woke up with a kink in my neck and not aspirin, ice packs, heat pads, or even a massage from my husband could get rid of it. After two horrible days of suffering, my parents recommended for me to see the acupuncturist at Regina. However, I’m not sure why this clinic is called Regina when the acupuncturist and owner is named Christine. Regardless of where this name came from, it was a life changing experience. As I laid comfortably under a heat lamp(warm rotisserie chicken came to mind for some reason), she expertly and efficiently placed tiny needles on my body and I have to admit aside from the small sting from the rubbing alcohol, this process was pretty painless. Afterwards, another person(her husband) did acupressure which felt like a very low pressure massage. The final step was cupping, a procedure where flaming glass cups are placed on my back meant to extract the toxins from my body(it sounds a lot scarier than it really was!). If you’re planning on going on vacation or someplace where you’ll be showing some skin, I would recommend skipping the cups because they’ll leave round bruises everywhere and won’t go away for two weeks! Afterwards, Christine said that I was showing symptoms of a cold and gave me a pack of vitamins to be taken for a week. Overall my experience at Regina was a good one and the kink in my neck was gone by the next morning. Since that initial experience I’ve been back twice and it’s fully covered by my insurance company. The only thing that prevents Regina from getting a full 5 stars is that I wish they had a massage therapist onsite because I think that would really compliment the treatments.
