History

Established in 2003.

Reliant Search was founded in 2003 by company President, Vaughna Cochenour. After being a top producer and turn-​around specialist for national firms, Vaughna decided to start her own company.

In 2005, the agency opened their first office in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Since then, we’ve been named several times as a Top Staffing Firm and Top Women-​Owned Business by the Portland Business Journal.

We moved our office to inner SE Portland in 2011 and have continued to expand. We are excited about our future and hope you will be a part of it.

Vaughna C.

Business Owner

Vaughna is a Certified Personnel Consultant and Portland native. She started in the recruiting and staffing industry in the early 90’s and, before founding Reliant Search in 2003, served as a turnaround specialist for national and local firms focused in Accounting and Finance. She leverages her vast network of contacts to search out the best candidates and opportunities in the marketplace. Vaughna enjoys travel, although she says Portland will always be home, and she is a diehard Timbers fan.

I have been working for Reliant Search for almost a year. I have worked with many staffing agencies over the years, and Reliant is by far the best. Being a temp and walking into a business for the first time can be daunting. But Vaughna and her team really make sure that the companies they work with are friendly and treat their employees, temp or otherwise, with respect and kindness. I had been out of the work force for almost 7 years being a stay at home mom. Vaughna helped me with my resume and got me started at my first assignment. She has provided support the whole time I’ve worked there (about 8 months now)-checking in to make sure I’m happy and it’s a good fit. Thanks so much to Vaughna and her staff for being so personable and supportive:)

Going to Reliant was the worst experience I’ve had in ever looking for a job. I felt that from the moment I met Vaughna she was not at all concerned about helping me find work. She was in fact more concerned about her dog than she was assisting me find work, which is what I thought Reliant was there for. She even left before I was done with the paperwork, to walk her dog.
The assessment program they use is not user friendly and for that to be the one thing that is the basis of their assessment of someone’s skills, is very unfortunate.
I truly hope they give other people who come into their office more professional attention and assistance.
I have more than 10 years project management and administrative experience with a strong military background. From the get go I honestly do not think they really were interested in helping me get work.

Making the decision to move to the States and then search for work was slightly daunting. After meeting with another recruitment company I wasn’t feeling any better about the process.
