I’ve had my share of facials and the quality of skincare and overall experience has been all over the map regardless of the price. So it was with great trust in the excellent reviews here on Unilocal that I went to Marna.

Marna is a gift I didn’t know I needed. I thought I’d be going for a single facial for a birthday treat as I’ve never had regular facials. Instead, I found an experience so worth coming back for that I’ve become a regular. I gave up getting my hair colored for this and will never look back!
The facials Marna gives are so personalized. I know I can trust her with my skin and have loved the results. The facials she gives are the ones you always are hoping you’ll get: constant attention, extremely relaxing, customized to your specific needs and adapting as your skin responds to the facial. There are all these details that make it truly wonderful… like slightly pressing her hand on your forehead as she puts covers on your eyes instead of startling you by simply putting the covers on. It’s hard to explain, but her facials are seamless.
It’s an escape every time I go that leaves me rejuvenated and my face glowing. I also went to her because I wanted better skincare products that were ideally organic, sustainably sourced, and well suited to my sensitive skin. She nailed those as well. My skin has never looked better and I take comfort in knowing that I’m doing what I can to help it age gracefully.
I can’t say enough good things and I’d recommend her to anyone and everyone. Go to Marna! You can thank me later ;)

Let me start off by saying this: the career I have chosen (Actor Chick, film-​and-​television) calls for a definite additional layer of care and attention to the physical body. Ohhh, yes it does! And, I’m an extreme lover of all things organic-​and-​vibrant-​health-​oriented because, well… I just like feeling good as much of the time as possible, and organic choices make a palpable difference for me. So, imagine my joy when I found that an extraordinarily talented Los Angeles aesthetician had opened her own organic studio in Oregon… Big Joy!
If you live in Portland (or anywhere near) give yourself a mighty gift and visit this hidden gem. Having a service with Marna is like having a service with your best girlfriend on the planet, who just so happens to be a black-​belt, super-​green aesthetician.
I had the good fortune to meet Marna when she worked at the «mothership» of the largest day spa in the U.S. (Burke Williams) in Santa Monica, California.
So…when recent work brought me to Portland, I literally went from the airport to her table. I had the Dreaming Moon Facial, which was as delicious as it sounds… two hours of masks, massage, serums, oils (all of which smelled so good I wanted to eat them)…and the LED light and Reiki options.
The spa itself, while cozy and welcoming, is nowhere near as cozy and welcoming as Marna herself. She has a gift for making clients feel authentically nurtured, and for intuitively balancing the chatting-​vs-​quiet component of her services. She’s a rare combo of ferocious commitment to intelligent, high-​quality products, gorgeously healing touch and expertise in cutting-​edge services. Skin-​care lottery win.
When the facial was completed, Marna was great at guiding me towards selecting products that would help me most quickly, since that’s what I needed. No hard-​sell (and my face felt like it had time traveled back to my teenage years).
In the entertainment industry, very often, make-​up takes a heavy toll on my skin, even with my commitment to keeping my insides sparkly-​healthy. In my dream Universe, all film and television make-​up artists will have a full line of organic make-​up and products in their kits. Until then, I do the best I can before-​during-​and-​after filming to make sure my skin stays happy. Marna and Rich Earth make this easy, whether my skin is prepping for a red carpet or a day of laundry/​errands.
Here’s my closing thought, and it’s worth repeating… if you’re anywhere in the Portland area… run gently, don’t walk… book a service with this talented woman in this amazing place. Your skin (and your Mind and your Spirit) won’t be able to stop thanking you.

Marna might ACTUALLY be an angel. Highly recommended, especially if you have skin problems that need some serious help. At 25, I’m just now learning how to love my troubled, acneic skin, and Marna has been instrumental in this! My skin feels healthy and soft and luminous when I am done with my facial, and my breakouts have greatly decreased. There is something very spiritually healing in the process. She is also excellent with daily skincare advice. It is clear that she knows a great deal about skin – this is so important especially since everyone’s skin and particular issues are so unique. Too often, I’ve been «prescribed» treatments that do NOT work, or even make my skin worse, but Marna’s care and ministrations are spot on.

Marna is a true healer. She creates a perfect, relaxing experience every time. I have tried so many different modalities from dermatologists to naturopaths and estheticians and she is by far the most wise, understanding, thoughtful… and is the first to provide effective resources for healing my skin. She also gives samples every time!

I have gotten many a facial over the years, and let me tell you — Marna is simply the best. I love going here to relax and feel pampered. Just listening to her soothing voice will calm your nerves and make your skin feel better :) Her products are AMAZING, her techniques are RELAXING, and she is the NICEST person you’ll ever meet!

I moved to Portland two months ago and was sad to leave my favorite aesthetician in Bend, OR, who delivered a consistently lovely facial experience (with microdermabrasion!) at a very reasonable rate every month. I found Rich Earth Organics online while looking for a local salon that used organic products not tested on animals. Marna was able to fit me in quickly (which I now consider a huge stroke of Luck bc she’s so Amazing I can’t believe she has any openings left!) and even better, her studio space turned out to be only a few blocks’ walk from my apartment.
What to Expect:
Let me start by saying I’ve had a lot of facials since I hit age 36 (three years ago) and made facials an essential part of my aging gracefully routine rather than a sporadic annual treat. I’ve had mediocre facials and what I thought were above average facials, but after two facials with Marna I have a new gold standard for the facial experience. She truly makes you feel like your Face & Soul have been at a Five Star Spa for the afternoon!
Her skin care studio on NW 23^rd may be tiny, but Marna creates a super sweet spa feel inside — the colors and linens are soothing and pampering, the space is immaculate, and the music she plays during the treatment is ethereal. She is extremely warm and friendly but does not chit chat during your treatment — instead, she’s a professional who gets right down to business by assessing your skin then focusing all of her energy and attention on nourishing it!
Both facials I’ve had involved stage after luxurious stage of hot towels, cleansers, exfoliants, moisturizers and I really have no idea what else — I was simply aware of all kinds of Yumminess happening on my face, arms, neck and shoulders and I basked in Bliss the entire time! A lot of the products smelled amazing like exotic combos of fruits, florals and spices. Marna has strong hands and seems to really know precisely what she’s doing during the face, hand and arm massages. You’ll wish her neck & scalp massages could go home with You.
My first facial with Marna was truly epic at 120 minutes and I felt like I’d been to facial Heaven and back a few times by the end. My second was 60 minutes and still included microdermabrasion for a very good price — and I still got to go to facial Heaven, yay! LOL. This is a good investment of my time & money so I plan to stick with a 60-​minute facial w Marna every six weeks and feel incredibly blessed that I found her and can see her on a regular basis.
Whether you get one facial this decade or one every month — go to Marna! Her facials would be an Excellent gift for a Mom, Sister, BFF, Bride to Be, Mum to Be, etc. My Mom is moving to OR soon and I’ve already told her I’m booking her a facial w Marna when she gets here !!

imagine your face going on a relaxing cruise, with a different kind of pampering at every stop: invigorating scrub, calming mask, delicious-​smelling creams, all topped off with a strong yet gentle face massage. absolutely amazing, in ways that i can’t even explain.
i really wanted a person to explain to my ignorant self how i should take care of my skin, which she did. she also has several lines of organic skin care and so far everything works great and smells heavenly. i highly recommend this place. oh, did i mention marna is very friendly and caring? five stars for sure.

Marna has created an amazing environment to take you into a place of healing for your body & spirit. The bonus is that you leave looking and feeling so invigorated and radiant. Her organic products are superior and her techniques are very skilled. As a senior citizen with very dry skin I am truly amazed at the magic she works.

This is the greatest facial I have ever had. Marna does wonders with my sister and my skin. Her energy is so calming and her techniques are amazing. We go see her whenever I am in town so every 3 months or so and it has been worth it every time. The product line she uses works wonders and I have very sensitive skin so for me to be willing to let someone put lots of products on my face is huge. I think she is affordable considering everything you get no matter what service package you choose. She is the perfect combination of friendly and professional. Plus she gives you great skin care advice after. The best part is when I feel my skin afterwards and it feels completely cleaned out of anything dirty and feels so refreshed and smooth that I can’t stop touching my face afterwards. Definitely go see her you won’t regret it.

Marna is amazing. I just had my first facial with her yesterday, and already my skin looks better — more nourished, toned, hydrated, and rosy. Her manner is gentle, kind, and caring. Can’t wait to see how my skin does with the new products I purchased, and I look forward to working with Marna long-​term to nourish my skin.

Rich Earth is as good as it gets. Marna genuinely cares about the health of her clients skin. My skin has vastly improved since receiving treatments from Marna, and she always has a ton of advice for improving my skin. Her products are top of the line. She is truly such a gem to find in the service industry. The whole experience is calming, rejuvenating and holistic… worth every dime plus more (and she doesn’t even accept tips!). Marna radiates peace, happiness, and wisdom… and I always leave Rich Earth feeling beautiful and balanced.

Rich Earth and other businesses of the building recently had the most delightful Open House and it was fabulous. The Rich Earth room is freshly painted and looks wonderful. This is a fantastic and uniquely amazing experience. It is obvious that Marna actually cares a LOT about each individual’s skin. That is admittedly hard to find out there. She will spend the exact amount of time with you to determine what you need, truly. You will leave feeling genuinely pampered and will want to book your next appointment before you leave.

I am a total convert to facials. I went on a gift certificate (almost didn’t, buy my friend would have known I hadn’t. ha!) and was amazed at the experience. No wonder women go get them. Talk about a relaxing, rejuvenating experience. It just felt so good to have the time, touch and attention. And to have it from someone who so clearly cares what she is doing, is knowledgeable about what she is doing and is capable at what she is doing.
I don’t know if all estheticians are like Marna, but she was amazing. She took a lot of time just to discuss my skin with me before she even put a finger on my face and then I had my full time on the table. Even though she uses medical sounding terms at times when she is talking about skin (who knew there was so much to it?), she also took the time to explain it in a way I could understand. She is professional, welcoming, genuine, and a warm spirit that totally put me at ease. (And I was not feeling at ease at first being a guy going in to get a facial, but it was extremely relaxing with the music, low lights, the aromas in the air, the soft bed/​table and Marna’s genuine kindness). And she has the most amazing touch. Strong, but soft.
I really can’t get over how good the whole experience was. My skin felt great afterwards and I just felt so good. I know I am repeating myself, but I cannot recommend this place enough. I am glad my friend made me go.

I first met Marna in Los Angeles, where I still live. I promise that I am not exaggerating: she changed my life. The first time I saw her, she suggested a few minor changes, which I of course dismissed. Then about 4 months later, I returned, prepared to submit to her will. She remembered everything I had told her and everything she suggested. The changes in my skin are amazing. (I am happy that my husband has seen the change so that he doesn’t bug me when I want to buy more product!) I was always impressed how Marna would tell me to look into products that she did not sell. I knew her goals were in my skin’s best interest. I live in LA, where I can get practically anything. I am planning my trip to Portland just so that I can visit your now-​local gift.
