Ridge has been involved with and coached PAYSA Youth Soccer, youth basketball, as well as Portland Bayside Little League where he also has served on the board of directors in many capacities including AA, AAA, Director and Vice President. His other interests to enjoy the beautiful state of Maine include a round of Golf now and then.

Ridge was selected BNI Member of the Year 2010 for the State of Maine.

My wife and I found Ridge York on Unilocal when we decided we were moving to Portland. Since we had a number of great experiences with Ridge over the past 9 months (culminating in an awesome home-​buying experience), it only seems right that we share our thoughts on Unilocal as well.
First off, Ridge really listened to us. He heard what we were looking for, and kept his eyes open for things that met our criteria. He never tried to push anything on us (be it houses that didn’t meet our criteria, or areas that we specifically indicated that we weren’t interested in), but was open to walk us through anything we asked (even if he knew we’d end up not interested after seeing it).
Second, Ridge knows the Portland area well, and his recommendations were always welcome (e.g. a good inspector, a good title company).
Finally, Ridge has a positive, upbeat personality. Despite weekend after weekend of driving my wife and me around to look at countless houses (almost all of which we ended up not liking), he always met us with a smile and a sense of professionalism. He has a good sense of humor, and is also genuine and thoughtful.
Overall, we would definitely recommend working with Ridge if you’re looking to buy a home in the Portland area!

My good friend Nathaniel was newly married and looking for a home in Southern Maine. I had worked with Ridge doing Photographic Real Estate Tours and have always found him very knowledgeable so I recommended him to Nat and Ridge was able to help he and his new bride find the perfect place that was in Short Sale and was very helpful through the long and often complicated process that that takes. Ridge ALWAYS uses his long experience in the field to act in the best interests of his client by being honest with them about their situation, even when they don’t sometimes want to be honest with themselves. That is far more useful than someone who will waste your time just to tell you something you want to hear to make you happy in the short term. This man knows his stuff. If you want to buy or sell your house, put him in the drivers seat and he’ll take you where you want to go.

I first met Ridge York 9 years ago. I liked him for his honesty and straight talk. When we were looking to buy our first house I hired Ridge to help us. He was patient, helpful, and insightful. He showed us dozens of houses over the course of a couple of years and discouraged us from purchasing particular properties more than he encouraged us. His interest was our best interest. In the end Ridge was able to help us find a house that we were very happy with, we did it on our terms and he guided us the entire way. Honesty, integrity, patience and experience are all guaranteed when working with Ridge. He’s a really nice guy who will help you find or sell your home whether it’s a 1,100 sq/​ft starter home or a 2 million dollar mansion on the water. Best of luck & call Ridge!

I have worked with Ridge on buying 2 houses and selling 1. He is amazingly kind, patient and informative. As a first time home buyer, he really looked out for my best interest and never tried to ‘sell’ us a house. He certainly steered us away from a few that had some hidden costs to our untrained eyes. His suggestions on cosmetic improvements when selling the house helped it sell fast and at that the price we wanted. I recommend Ridge to all my friends and family for sure!
