The Rose City Rollers are Portland, Oregon’s all-female flat track roller derby league. Our mission is to develop women of attitude, athleticism and passion to play a hard-hitting sport of speed and skill. As pioneers in the rebirth of roller derby, RCR continues to foster its growth. The league’s goals are to serve our community by empowering women and girls, providing entertainment for our fans and supporting charitable causes. (We are a 501©(3) non-profit, formed in 2004, and a founding member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association)
History
Established in 2004.
Started in 2004 as a band of gritty, gutsy gals wanting to knock each other around on skates, after nearly a decade of building our program and community, RCR is the world’s largest derby organization boasting home teams, travel teams, a juniors program, a huge recreational program, an expansion team in the Gorge and a vast pool of volunteers supporters.
Meet the Manager
Kim S.
Manager
I started roller derby in Portland in 2004 to have a blast knocking’ around my friends. Little did I know that RCR would evolve into a 501c3 non profit committed to empowering women and girls, entertaining our fans and supporting local charities. A decade later, I’m proud to sit at the helm of this amazing organization that means so much to so many!
Other bits: graduated Portland State, worked in advertising before running derby full time, I’m the longest living full time derby employee in the world, I get tons of ridiculous injuries and I still love punk music from the early nineties!
