Saint Cupcake

I had to give a 1 star in order to leave a review. I don’t think they were worth the problems I experienced with their service. Sometimes you can overlook certain problems when you get an incredible product but this is not the case.
Here are the positives:
The person who answered the phone (Lauren) was super friendly and nice to work with.
Cupcakes were okay with plenty of options for flavors.
Negatives:
Premium price but not the best cupcake I ever had.
I ordered special lettering for my cupcakes and it was not included when I showed up to pick up my order. The only way to fix it was to drive to downtown location so they can fix it. I didn’t have time to do all that considering my event was in an hour and I had to go the opposite direction. The grocery store across the street was more helpful on fixing my problem.
I ordered their tray for $ 15 to display cupcakes at the event. They gave me the wrong display so I had to scramble last minute on figuring out how to nicely display them. The person on the phone offered to refund my money that I paid. Am I suppose to be excited about getting my money back for something I did not receive in the first place??? Felt like I was left hanging again.
I emailed the manager or could be the owner (
) to let them know about the terrible service I received. You would think a good business owner they would respond to it but I have not heard back from them after a few days. Tells me they really don’t care about their service. Your cupcakes were good but not all that!
Advice if you order cupcakes from them. Only order from their main store because the satellite stores are useless. Convenient but useless.
Lower your expectations for good customer service.

Love, Love, Love this place. I cannot get enough of the dot selection they offer. The cupcakes literally melt in your mouth. The frosting is so creamy. The only thing is, this location did not have a dollar amount menu for the cupcakes. So you’re kinda in the dark when ordering more than one. The price for 6 dots plus one full sized cupcake was: $ 12.50. I had to bring some home!

Every time I want a cupcake, I always think of Saint Cupcakes. It’s not too sweet, and the cake is always really light and fluffy. Top picks: Lemon Sparkle, Coconut Cream, PB&J, and Salty Captain. There was a April special Lavender Chocolate that was really good too. Staff is patient and friendly!

This is a quiet and cute cupcake shop. They offer 2 sizes of their cupcakes, dots or regular. I appreciated the fact that the dot size gives you the opportunity to try different flavors especially since I am so indecisive! I got the fat Elvis (banana chocolate chip with peanut butter fudge frosting), yellow cake with chocolate buttercream frosting, and toasted coconut. They were all good but I was not blown away. The employee was kind and helpful. Overall I was happy with my experience!

The cupcakes here are pretty good and a nice option for a sweet treat while exploring the city. I wouldn’t say they are the best cupcakes I’ve ever had, but pretty close. I first tried this spot a couple of years ago and was eager to return now that I have more cupcake tasting experience.
I stopped in to get cupcakes to enjoy with friends for an after lunch treat. Yes, I eat dessert with lunch, it isn’t just for dinner! My first impression was how clean and cute the shop is inside. The cupcakes are beautifully displayed and fill a front case as well as a side case. They offer all of the cupcakes in mini or full size. I absolutely love the option to purchase mini cupcakes so that I can try several flavors without overloading on sugar. New since my last visit they now offer savory and sweet turnovers. They looked amazing and it was hard to pass on these. There are also cute party supplies and other goods available for purchase around the shop.
There were many options the day that I visited. Options included Red Velvet, Carrot Cake, Lemon, Vanilla, Chocolate, Lavender, Coconut, and Fat Elvis. There were several combinations of frostings and cakes within the vanilla and chocolate options. They have a lot of popular cake options. It doesn’t seem that they specialize in unique or unusual flavors.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the mini cupcakes. I ended up choosing a dozen minis of six different flavors. The Coconut was a hit with my friend and my husband. They loved that flavor. I liked the Chocolate Lavender because it was moist, the right amount of chocolate, and the lavender was not overwhelming to the flavor of the cake. The Chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting was a tad too sweet for me. Overall, the cupcakes were enjoyed by the group.

Delicious and perfect cupcakes here! Other treats available as well, Bön bons and cookies and cute decorations, candles, and cards for a fun party! Local and fresh. Lots of room and a great place to sit by the window and people watch.

I come her all the time now on every birthday for someone I know. I served there cupcakes at my daughters parties for years. I wouldn’t go anywhere else in this city for cupcakes. Try a four pack of the smallest size. The coconut one is amazing, the best is the big top.
I love these moist amazing, perfectly frosted treats. The best cupcakes I have had from a restaurant or bakery, bar none.

100% not worth it. The cupcakes absolutely taste homemade but in that «mom didn’t buy the store bought cupcakes for my birthday, she made them at home and I’m embarrassed» kinda way.
There are SO many people out there making cupcakes now-​a-​days that if you are not doing something special, then there’s just no point. For the price of one cupcake you could buy funfetti mix and frosting at the store and net 12 instead.

As I walked into Saint Cupcake’s flagship downtown location, confetti fell from the ceiling and some celebratory music played as all of the workers gathered around to welcome me as their first straight male customer ever. Perhaps the first to even enter the store — I’m not making any assumptions about who they’ve awarded maintenance contracts to for the building.
The attention was overwhelming and everyone was so eager to please that I had to beg for some time to really observe their goods. Strike that. I mean their cupcakes. Hm, still no good. I mean, the edible delicacies they bake on premises.
To paraphrase Pulp Fiction a little:
Did you just buy a $ 3.50 cupcake? That’s a cupcake. That’s icing and cake… for $ 3.50?

G’damn that’s a good cupcake! I don’t know if it’s worth $ 3.50, but it’s pretty f — ing good!
The fact that Saint Cupcake now has 4 locations here is basically everything that is wrong with Portland. No serious city of this size can justify four boutique cupcake bakeries. But then again, Portland is not a serious city. In fact, part of what makes Portland great are the many things that are in fact wrong with it***.
So it’s with that in mind that I’ll add that not only are these cupcakes are in fact delicious, but the service is attentive, and shockingly their COFFEE IS REALLY GOOD! Not only good, but strong! Who’d have guessed? I don’t think they have ice coffee though, so head’s up if it’s during one of Portland’s few warm months.
Their seating area is nice, but could be bigger. If it’s at all busy you’re going to be taking your cupcake to go. I’m not sure how big of a deal-​breaker that is since we’re already working under the assumption that as a grown adult you have accepted you are having a cupcake break.
***EXCEPT the homeless /​rent issues. Those REALLY need to be solved and are slowly killing us as a city.

The carrot cake was delightful. Moist, tender carrot shreds, spices just right. Cream cheese frosting wasn’t overly sweet, perfect compliment.
Easy walking distance from most of the big downtown hotels and a MAX line runs right by it. Great view of First Presbyterian Church if you like beautiful stonework architecture.

Saint Cupcake has delicious treats, sweet and savory, but I usually have just the sweet. I like how they have every flavor available as a large or a small, cuz’ you never know how big your appetite may be until you see all the cupcakes. I enjoy their toasted coconut cupcake, the carrot cake one and the Salty Captain.
I have friends/​family that are vegan, so major kudos to them for having vegan-​friendly cupcakes and frostings. I DO wish they had gluten-​free cupcakes though! I would definitely seek out their cakes more if they made gf ones. And now with the North Williams spot opening up, my office is just 5 minutes away…

Saint Cupcakes is phenomenal. They helped me every step of the way in getting a delivery made to my boyfriend’s work location for his birthday. The employee who helped take my order was wonderful and even helped me choose the color scheme of the cupcakes. I found out the delivery van was actually full the day of the delivery so they weren’t sure if they could fit a balloon in there for me but made sure to drive to another Saint Cupcakes location closer to my boyfriends work to blow it up before bringing over and made sure it got there! They hand colored and drew the delivery card amazingly well. I’m super impressed by the customer service and the mini cupcakes are nothing short of delicious!

The cupcakes here were good, but not as great as I was expecting. I felt like I could have easily made them as good or better at home, although maybe not as perfectly decorated. They had samples of popcorn, which they also sell. I thought it was really good and would definitely consider returning for a bag some time.

Cupcake Crack!
Oh my goodness… you have to make this a stop if you are in Portland. My wife and I always go out of our way and pay to park just to have some Saint Cupcake icing hit our palates. Believe me, it’s just as important to go here as it is to hit Voodoo Doughnuts, but without the long line…

Super delicious and great service! The girls were smiling and nice as we selected cupcakes and paid. The cupcakes were well priced, moist and tasty. They even gave us some popcorn for free that was nearing it’s expiration date. Not sure how it wasn’t bought by anyone, because it too was delicious!

Hours say they should be open, lights are on, person inside doesn’t acknowledge presence and doors are locked. Awesome.

Located in a good area and have a lot of customers. I was there later at night and a number of people came in and out. Set up and display is creative. The cupcakes are more on the average side when it comes to a cupcake bakery. They have unique flavors but I found some were dry and inconsistent. I have had them one other time and had the same flavor of cupcake and it tasted completely different.

A welcome variety is held at Saint Cupcake. They have cookies and other pastries in an addition to their main attraction. Their cupcakes come in a wide variety of types. Frosting is no small matter. Tables are available for the relevant patrons.
This was worth my try. I had the chocolate cupcake with vanilla cream cheese frosting. It was small and the in-​house name for its size, dot, was sufficient riddicule of how small it is. Dot is $ 1.50 and full size is $ 3.50. The cupcake was good, but small. Thereafter, I tried the Elvis. It was good, but a bit inferior to the first one I had. They know their craft, but so do others.
A good presentation is an unsung part of value.

Amazingly moist! Saint cupcakes has awesome flavors that you can actually taste. I have been to some cupcake companies where they just have a hint of flavor, but these cakes are packed with deliciousness. And the cream cheese frosting is a definite hit! Thank you for offering mini cupcakes allowing me to try multiple flavors without the guilt and the excess gut.

Came here to grab some cupcakes for friends that I was staying with, and really appreciated their unique cupcake flavors. On the worker’s recommendation, I grabbed the pumpkin spice cupcake, which was covered with their popular cheesecake frosting. Although I found the cupcake itself to be a little dry and the frosting to be a little thick and overbearing, Overall I liked the cupcake and thought it was great experience! It’s also split into a popcorn joint, which is pretty cool!

I tried 3 mini’s because I wanted to try all the flavors: Fat Elvis, Chocolate with Vanilla Buttercream and Chocolate with Caramel. My favorite was Fat Elvis. The cupcakes aren’t the best I’ve ever had, but they are good. Need to go try more :)

I crave their cupcakes! Anything with cream cheese frosting is a WIN! My all-​time favorite is the toasted coconut.
They have a wide selection, and a few seasonals at all times.
We recently went in for a tasting for our wedding cupcakes, and it was a really nice experience. She grabbed a plate, and we got to choose any «dots» (the small cupcakes) to try, free of charge. We tried almost everything because… cupcakes. She offered us coffee and tea, and then we got down to tasting and talking about different options. She had a kit ready with all kinds of sprinkles, jimmies, colored sugars, etc. It was so fun! I have another couple of places to try as well, and they will be hard-​pressed to beat the experience I had with Saint Cupcake.

We caught them right before they closed. Cupcakes were so most and frosting was fresh. They weren’t refrigerated from yesterday and tried to pass them off as fresh.
We got 6 minis
— salty captain: my husband inhaled this one before I even got a lick of the frosting
— red velvet: I personally am not a big fan of red velvet but I enjoy it from time to time. The frosting was perfect
— vanilla with vanilla buttercream: how could you go wrong with this? It was simple yet delicious
— chocolate with chocolate ganache: this one had small sprinkles on it. Again, didn’t get any :(
— lemon sparkle: just the right amount of tang
— big top: it was like a chocolate chip cookie transformed itself into a cupcake

So went to Saint Cupcake today, as I was observing I watched one of the workers touch her face, her hair and rubbed her nose and then placed cupcakes into the display shelf. Which I found was gross. I would feel more comfortable if the workers had their hair tried back and wore gloves or even just went to wash their hands. Another thing I found gross was they would ring you up using the touch screen iPad and then would proceed putting cupcakes on the display shelf. Layout of the place is kinda weird because when you walk in you immediate want to go left and you miss out all the cupcakes on the right.
A little too pricey for these cupcakes, I’d rather spend it somewhere else.
First time and the last time I will be coming to this place.

Walk up from the outside, this place is super cute. Very large space with many ovens. Very well designed and a large variety of treats. They are more than just cupcakes they offer coffee and other pastries. They also have a wide range of event items such as birthday cards, streamers, confetti poppers, and unique gifts. They make wedding cupcake trees. The service and smiles certainly assist in the charm.
We only had the room to try 3 mini cupcakes. Of course I will be back to try them all at some point.

Scrumptious, delicious and yum-​o-​luscious cupcakes! My BFF and I picked out 7 mini cupcakes to share. I honestly can’t remember all the flavors but it all was enjoyable.
The establishment is right off SW Morrison (easy access from the max). I love the layout of the store. As soon as you walk in, on the right its merchandise (candles, cards., etc) and it leads to the cupcakes/​baked goods. The cupcakes come in 2 sizes (regular and mini). The cupcakes were fresh, moist and full of flavor. I’m typically not into frosting but this time was different. I have a different look now on frosting (only on mini cupcakes). Coffee is also available but we didn’t get a chance to try it.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about this place. I would go back for more. I am looking forward to their seasonal flavors.

So when that sweet tooth hits and I’m downtown or I need something cute for the office this is my go to. In the office you have all these people who all of a sudden have different tastes to satisfy.
A dozen of the lil cupcakes will have the rainbow of flavors covered. Someone has that chocolate addiction there’s a cupcake for that– chocolate with chocolate buttercream or with hot fudge. Someone have on their stretchy pants there’s a cupcake for that– fat Elvis. Someone that’s a purist there’s a cupcake for that– vanilla with vanilla buttercream. Someone that likes to be fancy there’s a cupcake for that– red velvet. And even for that difficult vegan you never know what to bring there’s a cupcake for that– these are chocolate or vanilla and now a red velvet!
So now that you have everyone covered in this cute package don’t forget to grab yourself a celebration cupcake for being the hero at work!

First trip, I had a vegan red velvet cupcake. ‘Twas very very tasty so I decided to bestow Saint Cupcake with the honor of making my birthday cake. I ordered a vegan «butter» cake and chocolate icing. It was beautiful and it tasted good too. The only complaint I have is that it was too much icing. And this is particularly problematic because vegan icings tend to be oil based and I noticed that the cake seemed to have an oily layer within. It didn’t really impact the taste but the texture was a little off. The thought of eating oil-​soaked cake made me sad so I didn’t eat much of it. Based on my first experience, though, I would give Saint Cupcake another chance. Maybe just ask for light icing on any orders with vegan icing.
There always street parking nearby but I believe this location is accessible by max and bus if you’re not into driving.
The Saint Cupcake staff is awesome, by the way. I had to reschedule my cake pick up at the last minute because of the flu. They were really understanding and didn’t charge us a rescheduling fee. Very cool.
