These guys are great. I had an Expedition that I really loved but ultimately had to get rid of after Sandy Blvd Tire & Auto inspected it and found that I was going to sink $ 2K into it. James was great to work with over the phone and I never felt pressured to jump into those repairs. Ultimately, Sandy Tire & Auto only made a $ 160 off of me that day, but their honesty and willingness to understand what was the best financial decision for me, means I’ll be bringing my «new» used car back to them for service and maintenance. I have gone to this tire shop almost exclusively for many years, though not often enough to become a «regular» or some such as I’ve only needed their help every 5 years or so. I have always been treated well and never felt ripped off (thus the loyalty). A couple weeks ago either karma or my consistency paid off when they surprised me by patching/​repairing my leaking tire (a screw got stuck in the right rear tire) for FREE. Seems like a good honest shop. I called ahead and scheduled a time to come in. I had a new set of tired that I needed installed on car. They got that done fast and for a very fair price.

I’ve been taking my car here for a few years and I keep coming back because they’ve earned my trust. I needed a new hybrid battery and didn’t realize Honda had extended the warranty to cover it. These guys could have charged me thousands for a new battery and service, but instead they informed me of the service alert from Honda and the extended warranty, so I could go across town to the dealer for free service under the warranty. I was within 10 miles of the mileage cutoff, too, so they could have easily not informed me; I would have quickly driven out of qualifying range and I would have never known the difference. To me, that’s a trust that’s hard to come by in this business and it’s why I keep coming back. They’ve never tried to talk me into unnecessary repairs and are always prompt and courteous in all interactions. I appreciate them very much.

I bought a set of new tires last year from another tire company in Berkeley, CA. Long story short, the rear passenger tire has had a slow leak for several months. The other day I took my vehicle in to have the oil changed. This particular place informed me that my tire was bad, and that it needed to be entirely replaced. I was not convinced seeing as they over charged me for my oil change. I decided to get a second opinion so I took my car and the bad tire to Sandy Blvd Tire & Auto. Not only were they able to fix the leak instead of replacing the tire, they also fixed it under the original warranty! What a deal. It was such a sweet relief to a stressful day. Thank you!

No freebie here. I needed help and they gave it to me. They were kind, prompt and gave us a good deal. I was very thankful and would recommend them to anyone.

Put some 33″ duratracs on my xterra. They were fast and friendly. They didn’t have them in stock but the general manager (owner?) drove to another shop to pick them up. Good prices too!

Went there for the first time today. They asked for approval ahead of time to rotate the tires. However, when I returned to pick up my car, they were upfront and honest about not having to need too when looking at the tread.
The manager even answered some additional questions of mine and was open to having me call with any ongoing concerns!
Will be going back.

Wow! these guys are not just super friendly, professional, and fast, but actually have their heart at the right place. On our journey through the states of pacific northwest, this was our last day in Portland before our trip back to Asia, where we live. And the rental got a flat. Ordered a set of tires from tire rack and had them delivered to this company. They contacted me to schedule installation when the tires were received. They quoted 1.5 hours to install the tires and that was what that delivered, down to the minute. When the price for the install came up different than what I was quoted, they worked quickly to understand the issue and resolve the discrepancy. I walked out paying exactly what I was expecting to pay and the tires were installed without issue. i will continue to give them my business.

This place is not to be trusted! We thought Brett was nice enough until we took our car in for an oil leak fix and when we got the car back it was 10 times worse than before. Shaking uncontrollably and barely drivable. We took it back to see what was going on. The mechanics looked at the car for over half an hour and then told me it was nothing to do with what they did, we needed all new spark plugs and coils now. Really weird timing but I was willing to believe them. UNTIL I took the car home and it’s running perfectly fine now. It was obviously something they did and just decided to lie about it and tell me I needed to spend more money there. Not to mention, I never received a call back about pricing for the spark plugs. They clearly knew we were going to figure out what a sham they were once we took the car home. We’ve been driving the car for a week and a half now and it’s perfectly fine. This place is so shady. Stay away!!!

The very best service in town! Great customer service and personal attention. Would not go anywhere else for tires or tire repairs. Just had new tires done and the price and tire quality were very good. They have also done repairs which were excellent.

Always had great service for my oil changed and tire needs. They went above beyond loaning me a van for the day when I had to get to work. They made things right by double checking a coolant flush that had an air bubble that caused jumps in the idling of my car. There was no charge to investigate the issue and re flush the system. I will return!

Great experience with my Ford Ranger. Called ahead, drove right down (Friday late morning). James and Brett were courteous and thorough. Flat fixed in 20 minutes, no hassle, reasonable price. Convenient to take care of some errands in Hollywood area while I waited. I’ll be back for sure.

Came in for an oil change my appointment, using the Unilocal check in special. They had me out in a reasonable time, at a very reasonable price, with great service and a smile to boot!

I waited before posting this message to gain perspective on the situation.
This company had great customer service!
However, the underlying sales points, guilt trips and «made to feel’» urgency to repair ALL problems was horrible. I was charged an hour service for something that I know didn’t take more than 5 minutes (because when I took the car to another shop they did the same service on the remaining THREE tires in 5 min free of coast). Even then I wasn’t given complete service unless I purchased YOUR tires. I should have asked around before taking my car here because everyone I’ve talked to since has said that «good“year on Sandy sucks, is shameful, and has no once of integrity.

Went in for an oil change. I’m out of town so I was just Unilocaling to find a place that could service my car before I headed back to California. I called in requesting immediate service and they were able to accommodate!
The gentlemen running the office were both amiable and straightforward. I got a great deal on my oil change from checking in on Unilocal.I felt I was paying the jiffylube price for a local quality mechanic’s attention! When I’m next in Portland in need of an oil change I will visit again!

I can’t say enough about the great service here. Brett and James really understand the concept of excellent customer service!!!
I ran over a nail which caused a slow leak and I also needed an oil change. They had me in-​and-​out in about an hour, which was great.
If you’re looking for a shop with friendly, knowledgeable, honest employees then this is where you want to come to get your vehicle serviced.

I called ahead for an appointment (thank goodness!) because they were busier than I had expected for a Monday mid-​morning.
The manager Brett checked me and gave me a time estimate. They have free-​ride service, but I decided to hang out for the estimated 90 minutes. I needed a flat tire repaired, tire rotation and oil change.
There are plenty of stores/​restaurants within walking distance, which is great for people who don’t want to just sit and wait. But if you do stay, there are plenty of chairs (pretty comfy) and a TV, even though it was turned off during my visit.
Great customer service, friendly staff. Brett is great, he gave me a good deal on my SUV oil change and he let me know that I should probably consider getting new brake pads in 30 – 60 days.
It’s very rare that I actually walk out of an auto repair shop feeling like I got a great deal and great service, but I definitely left here as a happy customer. And I’ll definitely be a repeat customer, if the prices and service are always this good.
