Had the Potato Soup, it was so good! Just the right thickness and tasty without being too rich. I enjoyed when I got back to my trade home. One cup is certainly a meal. I added croutons too mine, love the added texture in soups that croutons provide. The bread the staff gives you is yummy, so don’t turn it down. For the price, $ 11 for two good sized cups of yummy soup to go, you can’t bet it! Super friendly staff, when they found out I was from out of town they were nice enough to offer their lists of where I should go during my stay. Soup was just as good as a leftover meal two days later! Just mix well a few times during the reheat process.

Yum! Their soups are delicious, with new takes on the combinations. I had the tomato soup with orange, and it was tasty. Their soup and sandwich combo is awesome, and a grilled cheese goes great with a soup. They use local produce, buying from the local farms, so the ingredients are great and fresh. The wait isn’t long, and the serving containers are nice, especially considering that it is a food cart. Everything is delicious!

Definitely come here for some delicious grilled cheese. We got the daily special which had bacon, tomatoes and some delicious combination of cheese. We also got the orange fennel tomato soup which was such a good complement to the sandwich! Also, soup/sandwich combination is the perfect way to end a long rainy day.

The Hungarian Mushroom soup is simply the best. If it’s a cold rainy day, I prefer the grilled cheese or the daily grilled cheese special with the tomato soup. The potato leek soup is soooo silky and delicious. It also helps that the staff are all super nice dudes/dudettes.

With so many options in the 10th& Alder food cart court, you could eat your way around the world here, Russia, Cambodia, and Transylvania included. But when you just want something simple and healthy-ish, Savor is the truck you should navigate to. They offer 4 soups daily, plus soup«flights». Did somebody say soup FLIGHTS? Yes. The only thing cooler than having 3 glasses of wine in front of me is having 3 cups of artisan soup. Dreamy! Besides the soupy offerings, they have grain salads and a grilled cheese«bar», where you choose your own fancy toppings and add-ins. Everything is under $ 10, so you can really fill up on a budget. Bonus: the ladies working here are totally chill and friendly. If I were cooped up in a food cart all day, I’d have a crazy look in my eye, but these chicks are totally zen. The virtues of a soup diet, I suppose!

This cart is just a few blocks from my work so I come here a couple times a month. I’ve had all of their vegan soups and they are all delicious. The lentil and quinoa salad is also great! Overall, a great place to stop by for some healthy food.

I mainly go here for the clam chowder. It is more on the soup side than the chowder side and the ingredients are always fresh and delicious. It’s really cheap too and comes with bread/butter. The staff is souper chill I was like what are you doing this weekend and he said idk nothing I guess. Overall a good experience, thanks a bouillon.

Cold gloomy day here in Portland so I was craving soup. All I can say is Wow! I got to sample the chicken noodle(which was very good) but decided on a bowl of hearty potato leek with a half grilled cheese. The soup was silky smooth and with the grilled cheese, was just filling enough for dinner. Looking forward to trying their other soups.

I stumbled upon Savor as I was casually looking for lunch at the carts on Alder one day. Unique concept from the multiple Thai and Gyro carts that’s for sure. I’ve been hooked on the Cauliflower soup from Day 1, paired with a half grilled cheese, it’s seriously DELICIOUS! Only real downfall is the wait, but it’s worth it for a fresh made grilled cheese and it’s only a few minutes if no one else is in front of you. Generous portions, decent prices, and everything I’ve tried has been amazing. I’d recommend going!

There’s something sexy and exotic about food carts, amiright? Look at you there with your Singaporean chicken rice and roti prata, or your Korean-Spanish tapas, or your naan-wrapped Indian burrito. You’re sexy and exotic and you know it. Yet there on the corner sits Savor, a humble soup and sandwich cart. Nothing sexy nor exotic about soup and a sando. It’s about as sexy as a bagel without the cream cheese, which is exactly why it’s the perfect comfort food. You’re cold, you’re tired, you don’t want to go out on a limb, you just want some f*ing bread with f*ing cheese dipped in some f*ing potato leek goodness. And that’s exactly what you’ll be rewarded with here. No animals? No wheat? No dramas. All the soups are gluten free and they have GF bread. Plus all the sandos are made to order, so you can really knock yourself out with what’s between the slices. This winter,(hell, every winter) comfort is the new sexy.

I love soups. It’s such a comforting food and can be made in so many ways in all different cultures, eaten at all different times of the day. Savor Soups have very healthy and delicious options to choose from and they offer samples before you buy them. Horray for samples! They have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free choices. I wanted to get a soup to go with my meal that I got from other carts but didn’t know what to get. Savor Soups have a 3 soup sampler which came in pretty good sized portions and it came with two slices grand central bread. Sweet Potato Kale & Coconut Soup — Kale, Sweet potatoes, coconut milk broth blended together in harmony. This a vegan and gluten free soup and is my favorite of the 3 that I tried because the flavor combinations are so unique with a lingering taste of coconut milk, it tasted American and Thai. I love these kinds of fusions! Creamy Chicken with Wild Rice — vegetables, organic chicken, and fluffy wild rice. You can never go wrong with chicken soup! This one is gluten free and is a nice hearty soup that will fill your belly! Velvet Potato Leek — vegan and gluten free, this soup is pureed with potatoes, leek, and a bit of cream. Not my favorite because it tasted like eating baby food. I originally wanted to try the Tomato with Fennel and Orange because I love tomato soup but they sold out. They also serve sandwiches to go with the soups! Too bad I already got a meal from another cart and that they also ran out of tomato soup, otherwise I would have gotten a grilled cheese sandwich with it! Classic American comfort food combo! The people working here were friendly and very helpful with helping me with the selections.

Had a ham and guerrier sandwhich from them and it was amazing. I thought it would be too small for me but it was plenty of food. I also got a half classic for my son and was equally impressed. On top of it all they were super nice.

Great place! We had a sandwich called the suds which had goat cheese, cheddar, apples, and truffle oil And it was very good. Only complaint was paying 5 $ for a blackberry lemonade. So avoid that but if you’re in the area this is a must try spot. You won’t be disappointed!

Savor Soup House is my absolute favorite spot for quick, healthy AND delicious lunch. I don’t even check the menu anymore because I just know that I will find something I love. Their tomato soup is amazing, a fresh bright version of a classic. The potato leek is another favorite of mine. Service is always very friendly, personal and quick as well. When I am super hungry, I add a grilled cheese. I really appreciate that I can make ANY type of grilled cheese I want. I can add bacon and apple butter and get crazy! I really feel like you can’t go wrong with lunch or dinner from this spot.

So disappointed. I live downtown and noticed it one day while driving and got very excited about a soup food cart. Nothing I love more than some soup on a cold day but my husband gets sick of soup so this would be perfect! I looked at the menu and planned to make my first trip on Tuesday because I wanted to the potato leek soup. I got there right at 11am and it wasn’t ready. Ok– I’ll forgive and forget and go with the chicken noodle. I also got a Caesar salad and a grilled cheese for the little one. My chicken noodle soup tasted like dirt. Really like someone added dirt to the broth. Is there a seasoning in this that makes it taste that way? I had it a couple bites trying to drain the broth and couldn’t stomach it. I moved on to the Caesar salad. It was a very good size. It didn’t have much flavor. I suppose a lack of dressing? I added salt and pepper and ate about half of it. It was just tasteless. My little liked the grilled cheese(even ate the crust!) He only ate half so I got to finish it. Thank goodness because at this point I haven’t had much of a lunch. It was good. Better than the grilled cheese I make at home. Their prices are very reasonable and it’s a good location for me. I’m going to give this place another try because with all the good reviews(that I checked before going) it must have been an off day? Looking forward to having a much better experience soon and will update the review at that time.

On a particularly cold day, I was struck by the need for soup. I’d heard many good things about the Savor Soup House and decided to make the walk. I didn’t know there was a soup sampler option, but it was a great way to test out 3 different soups and see the variety of what they have to offer. The carrot tomato soup was a lot better than what I’ve tried at Elephant’s, and was the first soup I’d ever been able to describe as tart. It grew on me however, and the fennel provided a good balance to hold everything together. The potato soup was rich and surprisingly thick, and had been pureed to almost a gravy-like consistency. It was a little too salty for my taste though, but was solid soup for bread dipping. The lentil soup was my last choice for the sampler, but my favorite part was combining the soup with the cilantro. I was sad to have quickly finished my three leaves of cilantro, and wish there had been more to go around. This soup was definitely the heartiest of the three. There was so much soup I even had leftovers for the following day, and these soups had time to continue gathering flavor. Service was also great, both workers were very friendly and chatty. Free hearty grain bread was a perk as well, and for $ 6 all together, I’ll be back, especially to try this Hungarian Mushroom soup!

My favorite soup stop in the downtown area. Friendly service, delicious foods, a nice variety too! I’m not really a big fan of tomato soup, but theirs is great– with or without a tasty grilled cheese!

I’ll hike the mire, you place the chili In the jug that I bought today Stirring at the kettle for hours and hours While I decide on a gracious host of toppings All week long for me, only for me Come to me now, complex cauliflower chowder Even with the V’s, everything is free of G Such a teeny tiny kitchen, the sidewalk is orchestrated By noontimers, sunshine through them Social gems for you, only for you Soup House; Savor, Savor, Savor Soup House Down-home stews are in the pod, life used to be so hard Now everyday is comfy, ’cause of you CSN déjà vu

That was just the most deliciously perfect lunch for me! So much so that immediately after finishing it I had to go back to the cart and tell the woman working there how much I loved it. Seriously! I was drawn in by one of the soups of the day… «Spring Pea and Mint». I mean what sounds more fantastic than that? I ordered a cup and then saw that you can get a half of an original grilled cheese sandwich with any purchase for just $ 2.50… so obviously this bargain loving gal had to get that too. The cup of soup was AMAZING! It was fresh and flavorful and happy… like a springtime dance in a garden after a bit of rain(wow!) and that«half» sandwich was HUGE and DELICIOUS! I don’t know whether the bread or the melted cheddar was the better half. Either way, that sandwich was the perfect balance of gooey and crisp and mellow and flavorful. YUM!
