History

Established in 2011.

It’s called Serious Business Pastries because baking is serious stuff. It’s a science and an art form, and it demands a lot of care and attention. But baking also allows for a lot of fun and whimsy, too. They’re the veritable frosting and sprinkles on top of a delicious, well-​made cupcake. If you try our pastries you’ll see that we’re serious about quality and craftsmanship, but fun and funky when it comes to flavors and creativity.

In 2013 we bought Florio Bakery, a world class pastry shop in NE Portland that had been around since 2007. In doing so, we doubled the number of recipes we could offer our customers, but more importantly, brought on an incredibly talented team of bakers. Additionally, now that we’re located next door to Café 11 on NE Rosa Parks Way, we can sell directly to customers each and every day of the year. We’re incredibly excited about this growth!
