History

Established in 1978.

Shoe Mill was established in 1978, the result of the vision of a hard working and dedicated husband/​wife team, it has grown from a single store into the major independently owned shoe retailer in the region. Shoe Mill is a 3^rd generation family owned and operated shoe store with 8 locations in the Portland and Salem.

Our unique merchandise mix is the envy of the industry, as we have combined many of the most sought after brands with exclusive products gleaned from exceptional manufacturers worldwide. We have illustrated this concept in our corporate logo which includes the tag line, «We put the world at your feet».

Our sterling reputation has made us the single largest doctor referral shoe resource in the Greater Portland/​Salem Metropolitan area. We are perceived by the medical profession as more than just a shoe store. We truly care about foot health.

The manager at our brand new Bridgeport Village Shoe Mill is Erin Sauer; congratulations, Erin!

Erin has been with the Shoe Mill for eleven years, and is fully knowledgeable in foot mechanics, fit, brands and, especially, customer service; her customers love her! She manages a crew, who love her as well, with cumulative experience exceeding 120 years.
