Business Owner

Hall has been piercing for 4 years, and is a graduate of the Basic and Advanced Fakir Intensives. He has attended the Association of Professional Piercers Conference every year since 2012 to further his continuing education. Hall has a vast knowledge of sterile asepsis, body piercing technique, correct materials for body piercings new and healed. He enjoys working with all types of clients, whether its your 1st time getting pierced, or your 100th time, he will make you feel comfortable. Stop on by and say Hi.

I went in for a belly button ring because mine had fallen out and I was greeted by Hall, the owner. This guy knows his stuff, but he also offered to put the belly button ring in for me free of charge. I expected him to just unwrap it and put it in, but he took the time to go through the entire decontamination process, educate me about how to tell the difference between a good piece of jewelry and what is cheap, and as I left he threw in a free saline solution for me to clean it with…

I really love how clean and sanitary the place was first off ! I just moved here from New Orleans and was looking for a new piercing place! I was very pleased by the customer service and professionalism as well. I’ve never had a piercing heal so well and i would recommend this place to everyone. They have really pretty jewelry here too. My husband and I found this place through Unilocal.Given the reviews, we stopped in and were not disappointed. Hall was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about his products and service. Super clean. Clean on a level like I’ve never seen before. Dr. offices could learn a thing or two from this place. Even though he didn’t have everything we were looking for, Hall was quick to point out some other high end stores that might. Five different shops later, we finally found what we needed and brought it back to Hall to install. He was so great about it, I spontaneously decided to have him give me a piercing I had been wanting. His manner was very gentle as he told me he treats everyone like a sick kitten, lol! It is so refreshing to find someone in this business that really wants you to get what YOU want, and be happy about it. Between his patience, and professional manner, I never need to go anywhere else. Top notch!!!

This was by far the best experience I’ve had getting pierced. You can tell he’s knowledgeable and enthusiastic as he talks about piercings and jewelry, as well as how serious he is about cleanliness. I was really appreciative of how patient he was and how quick he was to accommodate me, from the long time I took picking out jewelry to calming my nerves when getting pierced and fighting the wooziness afterward. He was also just generally pleasant to talk to. Now that I’ve been here, I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere else for piercings or jewelry. Thanks so much for everything, I love my new lip piercings!

I’ve been to a variety of piercing shops up and down the I-​5 corridor and Hall is by far the best, cleanest, most friendliest piercer Portland has to to offer. He keeps his knowledge up to date by going to piercing conventions yearly. His cleanliness is easily marked by how many sets of gloves he goes through just to exchange jewelry. Hall uses top of the line sterilizing machines coupled with sterilized gloves and cleans everything he touches before and after I, the customer, get poked. His standards are what I wish every piercing and tattoo shop had but since that’s not the case, when you want some top grade jewelry that’s not going to turn your skin green, or you’re looking for new bling, SoulFire is your shop, Hall is your connection, and the time to go in is now.

Hall is amazing. Professional, kind and turkey caring about what is best for his customers. He is on the cutting edge of technology as well as being incredibly up to date and active in the piercing scene and regularly goes to piercing conventions and being an active member in the community.
His jewelry is high quality and sanitized multiple times before it comes anywhere near you, as well as the fact that it is simple gorgeous. Hall has placed multiple pieces of jewelry for me and I have loved every single one.

Hall and Katie are just the best. It’s such an experience every single time I come in, and I come in here a lot! Hall does an absolutely amazing job at making you feel as comfortable as possible while being hilarious and honestly one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Soulfire is awesome! So far I’ve had 3 piercings done here and I won’t go anywhere else. They are professional, friendly and super clean. Hall is very calming and relaxing making the piercing experience very enjoyable. Besides the rad shop and employees the jewelry is the best quality and very reasonably priced. I stopped in during a recent trip to Portland with the goal of finding a simple septum piece.
Hal and his staff (I’m sorry I forgot your name!) were so sweet and so helpful. You would think that good customer service would reign in a business that requires such proximity to – and intimacy with — customers, but I have visited many shops, and this shop is one of the most friendly and welcoming shops I have visited.
Although I didn’t get pierced here, I am giving this shop five stars for both their strict observance of hygienic conditions and for their excellent manner and customer service.

I went in for the first time today to have a problem piercing removed. I was pleasantly surprised that I wasn’t charged for this service even though the piercing was originally done at another shop!
The place is super nice and clean too but most importantly Hall is just a wonderful dude. Very professional and friendly :)

I will start off with the greeting when you first walk through the door. Extremely professional people and such a comfort feeling they give one. It has been many years since my first piercing so I was a little nervous. Hall makes one feel completely comfortable and I have never seen such a emaculate establishement as this one. Everything is sterile in the piercing room and so comfy. Thank you again to Hall and his assistant, sorry did not get your name. All in all a fab experience and I will be back in 2 months to get another ear piercing.

I agree with the first reviewer. This was the best piercing experience I’ve ever had. They accommodated me warmly as a walk-​in. The cleanest operation in town: This is the most hygienic establishment, you feel very taken care of. Hall is wonderful and provided so much information from the process of the piercing, materials and aftercare info. I highly recommend them to anyone interested in getting a piercing.
