We are a learning community in Portland Oregon dedicated to the well-​being of children, parents and professionals. Summa Institute will open the Summa Academy in the fall of 2013 which will provide private K-​8 education to children ages 5 – 14 and their families. Through the Professional Development Center, we also provide teachers and professionals with training opportunities in an experiential learning environment in both child development and educational practices. Our philosophy is proprietary and is called Natural Learning Relationships. Summa Institute — where we all grow together.

History

Established in 1985.

Summa is a 501©3 non-​profit organization founded in 1985. We relocated from Northern California to Portland Oregon in 2003. We have spent the last 6 years creating a new vision of education, tailored specifically to meet the needs of Portland residents. Summa Institute will open its doors in January 2013, Summa Academy will open with its first 80 students ages 5 – 14 in the fall of 2013. Summa Institute — grow together.
