Stopped in here a few times because of its convinient location. Everytime horrible service and sushi not fresh either. The lady at the cash register is super awkward and rude.

A dollar a plate for sushi is great. The sushi here is actually pretty good too. I have been here multiple times and come in every now and then. The interior is clean and its pretty easy to just come in and grab a seat. My only problems with this place(hence 3 stars) are consistency and quality of service. Many times when I come, instead of a greeting I get«aye you sit down», come on that can be a bit better(such as starting by saying«hello»)… As for consistency, a few times there was only 2 different types of sushi on the conveyor belt, which wasn’t the best as i wanted some variety since I was eating off the belt. Minus my two issues, I like this place and would like to rate it higher.

Love this place! The staff greet me by name and the service is speedy. There is also a lovely family-hierarchy dynamic amongst the staff; Makes the whole experience feel kindred and cozy. And you can’t beat a-dollar-a-plate prices:

It’s a dollar a plate, A DOLLAR A PLATE! It’s damn good for what it is. Sure you won’t get a nice Unagi coming your way, your girlfriend will probably complain, and there may be a loud Hispanic family letting their kids run around(you knew what you were in for when you decided to eat on 82nd!) but you can get your sushi fix for 6 bucks. If you wait long enough, a quality dish will come by, be patient and enjoy the friendly staff and TV.

Update as of Jan 3rd2014: Food is still consistently«pretty okay, kinda good». However, service has declined slightly with every visit. Took almost ten minutes to be asked if we wanted something to drink, which is ridiculous, considering that the servers were LOOKINGRIGHTATUS, who didn’t seem to realize that we didn’t have anything. Also, one of the servers seems a little rude when I order something, like she feels like she doesn’t have to make something fresh. Why? Because it’s on the belt. Probably for a few hours. Would it kill you to help me out? Oh, and never a «you’re welcome». Verdict? There’s a much better place at Fubon. Go there. Please. Unless you’re desperate and don’t have deep pockets.

The lady helping us made a sigh when we asked for orders of food. She didn’t say a word to us after and my cup of water remained empty the whole time I was there.

I’m not really sure where to start with this review. All of the sushi on the conveyer belt was $ 1 a plate — something you definitely can’t beat. As other reviewers have said, it’s not the highest quality, nor is it packed with fish. but seriously, for $ 1 a piece, you have to know what you’re getting into. Now. it seems as though you’ll get entirely shafted on service unless you’re a regular. My boyfriend and I were told to pick a seat, and asked for drink preferences. Aside from that, there was positively no contact with any other staff during our stay. Normally this is fine, but we wanted to order from the menu. I had to ask two different people for a menu, but then no one came to check on anything after that. The ambiance was also a bit. different. They were playing loud TV, first some Nirvana concerts followed by Family Feud and Minute to Win It. I was entertained, don’t get me wrong, just haven’t experienced anything like it in a sushi place before! Anyway. not the worst restaurant I’ve eaten at, but the complete and utter lack of service combined with the bizarre surroundings probably mean I won’t be back.

Absolutely horrid. I tried this to find a cheap sushi place near my house and immediately regretted it. The rolls are teeny with almost no fish. They tasted old and disgusting and the service was poor as well. Avoid.

1 dollar sushi, very basic, but you can eat while you wait for your bus! I was in and out in about ten minutes, can’t beat that!

I agree with other reviews. There is not the largest selection in the world but seriously 1.00 Sushi… how can you go wrong with that? The staff are really kind and they make sure each and every customer is taken care of promptly. The lady at the counter was such a cutie she was making us laugh. I truthfully love the Calamari here. The little desserts that come by are great as well. I never leave hungray when I go to Sushi Sushi.

This place is also known by its more popular moniker, Sushi Sushi. A restaurant by any other name is still the same. The prices are decent: every plat is one dollar but sometimes in the world of sushi, you get what you pay for. Lots of interesting rolls. I don’t care for the hamachi here but the fried calamari is decent and the people are nice.

If you like your sushi on tracks(and who doesn’t?) then this is the place to go next time you are in the woodstock neighborhood. Very close to Mt. Scott Pool/Park, it’s a great spot to take the kids and let ‘em have at it. They have«everything on the track $ 1» days on Tues, Weds and Sat, but the kind lady warned me that the selection is ‘not as good’, and some people don’t like it because they don’t have as much variety. But if you are simply looking to stuff your gullett with all things sushi-esque, I think that would be some kind of deal. Very good spicy tuna, even better than I’ve had in downtown’s similar type of sushi places.
