Business Owner
Sarah first became interested in renewable energy during her last semester at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she was studying Environmental Studies and Public Policy. In 2001 she hit the road for solar and moved down to an aspen forest outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico, to study at the EcoVersity School. After getting her feet wet in renewable energy, she headed northwest to California’s Solar Living Institute to complete a 3-month solar internship program. It was then on to Portland, where she landed a job at Mr. Sun Solar. For the next 7 years, she put her boots on the roof and installed hundreds of photovoltaic and solar thermal systems. At Synchro Solar she is the Lead PV Installer and PV Project Manager. Sarah was the first woman to obtain the Limited Renewable Energy Technician (LRT) License in the state of Oregon and is also a NABCEP-certified PV Installer.
