Showed up at 1pm on a Sunday to celebrate my husband’s birthday and they weren’t open. I tried to call and the number was disconnected. There was no sign saying they would be closed today for any reason, and no reason to believe they have shut down. Very disappointing.

FOOTBALLSUNDAY! So they can’t show every game but they can show most of them. $ 2 bloody mary bar with all the fix’ins(including BACON!) The staff was super friendly. I had actually gone in a couple night before to have drinks and everyone was super friendly also. Maybe that is just a Portland thing? Anyway last sunday during the games the chef comes out and says«Hey! can I experiment something on you?» and he throws down a basket of pulled pork nachos. They were awesome! This place is rad!

I had a great time here. I thought it was going to be more divey and it’s not. We had delicious brisket and some cherry cider that was out of this world.

I’m not sure what management has done but the food has taken a turn for the worse. Me and my family drove all the way over here from 122 and Holgate for the spare ribs and the wonderful Mac and cheese. When we arrived they didn’t have any spare ribs and the Mac and cheese was nothing more than some noodles drenched in some type of cream sauce. Gone was the cheese goodness we have learned to love. We will not be back.

Pulled pork was nothing more than meat braised in grease. Truly a terrible excuse for barbecue. Unfortunately there are no good barbecue restaurants in Portland and this is among the worst of the lot. No, there aren’t. It isn’t, you’re wrong.

Apparently the management of this place either completely forgot about the World Cup Final or just didn’t care. We walked in and the first thing out of his mouth was«We’re busy today, I’ll get to you when I can.» Sat at the far end of the bar, great view of the game, zero attention or service. I got up walked over and had to order my beer there. After finishing my beer, empty glass in front of me… Zero service. All the other newer patrons got served by him. The only other table service lady was pretty busy, but obviously can’t really help out the bar, that’s the BARTENDERS job. Finally after 25 minutes and even visits to our end of the bar to get glasses for everyone else… I unbite my tongue, get up and go over to the other section of the bar. This time I was greeted by the table service lady. She could tell that I was obviously livid, and was very kind, even bought that round of drinks. She even came and checked on us 3 other times before the game ended, then it came time to pay… Pretty high bill for just beers, so I asked her about it. The idiot that never served us in the first place, added someone’s meal to my tab! So instead of re ringing our tab, she pulled cash out of the register and gave it to me, which was fine. I paid with my card, left a zero tip, and handed her, personally cash as her tip. He obviously had no motivation or understanding of how to be a server. Seriously… FIREHIM!

The food was great. That by itself would be 5 stars; however, the restaurant was so dirty we almost left before the food was served. There were dead flies and cob webs between the booth and the window… The dining room needs some cleaning… I had a delicious pulled pork sandwich, my friend had the Mac and cheese and my son had chicken strips… All very good.

Ate there for the first time, I was on the hunt for some good BBQ. The ribs, brisket, and pulled pork was so delicious. The coleslaw, however, was underwhelming. But overall good service, food, and drink. I recommend this place!

I went there on a Thursday night. I had a sampling of chicken breast, brisket, and spare ribs. Along with that was cornbread, a side of collard greens and baked beans and an Iced Tea. The collard greens were awesome! The baked beans were also pretty good. The spareribs were spot on delicious, fall-off-the-bone tender. The chicken breast was juicy, tender and pretty good. The Brisket could have been better, it was a bit tough — but really was still good. I enjoyed the selection of BBQ sauces and tried them all. The spicy one definitely was tasty. The iced tea came in a large mason jar, and lasted the entire meal and then some. Our server there was very friendly, and made us feel at home. Ultimately a good BBQ experience that I won’t mind trying again.

If you go during lunch you can get a really great deal on some BBQ and a brew. $ 8 for a pulled pork sandwich and fries! We will be back to this awesome little spot. The meat is beyond flavorful, and is top quality with no meat left on my rib bones after. I’m usually one for heavy sauce usage, but the ribs hardly needed anything else. The pulled pork was amazingly lean, not a single bit of fat! High quality eats for cheaps!

Very good BBQ and the staff here are super friendly, we even arrived a few minutes before they opened and they let us in and served us anyway. Very good lunch menu

Wow. So delicious and super affordable! If you love BBQ, you have to go here. Service is great and the food just couldn’t be better. I had the pulled pork, my friend went for«Mixed Grill» and had Brisket, Spare Ribs, and a sausage. We also had mac n’ cheese, cornbread, and coleslaw. The BBQ is more of a rub style, with sauces to choose from on the side.

I absolutely love this place. Friendly atmosphere like a backyard bbq. Best barbecue in town! The greens are sweet and savory, the ribs fall off the bone and the sweet barbecue sauce is amazing! The spicy barbecue sauce is yummy also.

AWESOME barbecue. Drinks in Mason jars. Well enough service, for a bar — I don’t expect the speediest or sugary-sweetest service from a bar, and Tennessee Red’s doesn’t exceed my expectations in that arena, but I don’t have any actual complaints. In fact, I rather like being left alone to my whiskey and barbecue, thankyouverymuch! Been here multiple times, and will continue to visit any time I’m in the area and in the mood for majorly delicious meats.

I wonder are they doing construction? It’s freezing, it’s already 21 degrees out side, I want to be warm not cold. The tv’s and their size are great. They are crisp and clear flat screens that you can watch the game… cold. did I say this place is freezing…

Came in here for a birthday celebration. We first intended to go to the local sports bar down the street, but when we got there the parking sucked and there was no room to sit… so we made our way to Ten Red’s. It was a little empty, but we did find a place to sit. Its a quaint neighborhood bar that looks like they recently renovated. The bartenders were kind and quick. Would definitely return.

Ok, so maybe it was Friday night! Maybe, it was a full moon! That was the best shredded brisket! Oh yeah the selection of beverages was awe inspiring!

My search for BBQ has been long and bleak since I moved to the land of craft beer and healthy eating. Every corner restaurant and food cart has been a disappointment or a dead end. Recently moved here from NashvilleTN. I am close to many good BBQ cities during my travels living in the south. I often pulled over my drives whenever i smelled the good stuff. I feel I have learned to appreciate good BBQ. I finally think i found something of good representation of what BBQ is like in the South. Tennessee Reds had me as soon as I smelled the air. It smelled like the south. I ordered the sampler as it had a bit of everything. It was all excellent of great flavor and texture. I like my ribs dry rubbed and to taste the ribs. And they tasted GREAT! Sausage was great and pulled pork tasted and went down like pulled pork. The collard greens WHERETODIEFOR! And even the cornbread was great. It was a different texture then what I was used to, but nevertheless, flavorful and crumbly in a good way! Sauces where excellent too, but I’m not huge on sauce. I’m trying to taste the meat. Staff was excellent, and fun. Ambiance was good and prices reasonable. So why only 4? No Desert! It would have sealed the deal for some good bread pudding! I’d have to say this place is Legit!

My buddy suggested we try this place for lunch, so naturally, I Unilocaled it. And began doubting his ability to select good lunch venues. I mean, it has been sunny lately – maybe he’s been out in it a bit too long. After all, Portlanders are a bit awe-struck when the rain stops, the clouds part, and that big yellow ball of happy appears. But, I was hungry, and I do like to try a place out before I pass too much judgement. I’m glad I did. Previous reviews mentioned the awesome service, and they weren’t wrong. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door, and got our menus as soon as we sat down. The Monday special? Pulled pork sandwich with fries for $ 5. Choice of 3 different sauces to go with it. Awesome. We both ordered the special, not knowing if we were going to love it or hate it. Loved it. Not just, «Oh, this is an acceptable porcine po’ boy,» but«Holy sh*t, this is one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I’ve ever had!» I didn’t taste any smoke flavor in the meat, but it was tender, juicy, and HUGE. When there’s a special, I generally assume a place is going to skimp a little on portions. Not Tennessee Red’s. And the fries? Fried to perfection and seasoned well. We made a pact to come back here at least one Monday a month. Our server did explain that the place was under new management and that they had been working to improve all aspects of the restaurant. Whatever they did, they did it right. Seriously – next Monday go get the special.

I am not a BBQ person but I was out and about and some friends were there, they invited me to join them and we had a great time. We arrived just before 10pm which meant we could order from the Regular Menu or the HH menu. We ordered several servings of the Mac & Cheese, it was really good as long as you aren’t looking for something gourmet, you will be sure to dig in and enjoy. I also ordered a small side of the Cole Slaw and enjoyed it too, I’m told it is good to put directly on their PoBoy. Pork Ribs were devoured by my friends, with several different sauces to enjoy. I tasted the Spicy Mama(sweet with some heat) it was good, I’d love it on a BBQ Chicken Breast if they had them, but they don’t :-(One friend mentioned that the ribs were certainly smoky… so I guess if you like smoke ribs, this is the place for you. We ordered beer, wine and soda, all really well priced and all good. I’d be happy to go back any time for HH, early or late. The servers were super friendly and helpful. They food was served promptly. The prices are reasonable.

Went out with our Dodgeball team one night for some good Dodgeball team bonding time. Started the evening off at Blitz and headed up the street to Tennessee Red’s to check it out. Mistake. It was not late, probably 11, and some of us were hungry. We walk in and nobody is in the bar… literally no single person was there… that’s usually a bad sign. The bartender comes around from behind the kitchen and we all sit at the bar. Everyone is looking over the menu and when they all order, we are told the fryer isn’t on and it would take an hour to heat up. Who the hell turns off their fryer when half the items on the menu require it? The waitress gave us our beer but most people were let down at the fact of no food… which from other Unilocal reviews sounds like that was a good thing. The waitress would only talk about her boobs and how she also works at the Melting Pot… another place that I don’t enjoy. Everyone left the bar except me and my friend. The waitress offered her a shot of whiskey on the house… me? nothing. me? irritated. we? left. only after drinking the free booze.
