Dank. My favorite Thai place on the West side. Cute and quaint restaurant, with good prices, and great Thai food.

I was so startled to see that this place didn’t have 5 stars across the board! I have been coming here for years, and it is consistently delicious. The service is very speedy, and the servers are very nice. I love love love their crab wontons, fried mushrooms, tom kha, and pad thai. My favorite Thai food in Portland!

Hello great hot Thai food! Thank you. Finally. First off, service is so attentive. It’s almost annoying. Menu is varied and staff can answer any question you want. Food was so good. I spent three weeks in Thailand and I swear this food is authentic — fresh, beautiful presentation, clean tastes and great prices. I went there for lunch, since I work close by, and plan to go back this summer because you can sit outside and take a few minutes in the day to breath. Totally cool hood — lots of food traffic and just a fun dining experience.

Decided to go there with a friend during lunch since we work right across the street. It wasn’t too busy and they sat us right away. When we were ready to order they never came back to take our order. We sat for a good 10 mins and were just sitting at the bar eating. They kept walking by us and just ignored us. As we got up to walk out, they didn’t even bother to stop us and apologize.
They have okay food but the ladies that work there is kind of rude.

Soooo many food options. Pad Thai was a hit. Wished they had pictures on their menu. In light of not having pictures on their menu, I pulled out our trusted Unilocal app and showed the server the picture. The authentic flavors and great ambiance along with fast and friendly service makes this a place I’ll definitely return to.

Always friendly service. If you take a peek in the kitchen, it is like being in Thailand. A tiny place with 6 people doing an efficient job. The food is always good. It’s a little tight inside but makes for a cozy meal with the Portland weather outside. In good weather they have some outside tables but you are on the street.

I lived in Thailand for two months last year and I have to say this is pretty authentic. I ordered the Phad Thai, Pad See Ew, and the Red Curry. All of which were very good.
Portion: Large (I am 6’3″ and 215lbs. One dish was plenty. The waitress said their dishes were small but I think she was just trying to sell more plates of food)
Prices: $ 12 – 16 (Fairly reasonable)
I must warn you to GET LESS STARS THAN NORMAL. I lived in Essan district of Thailand for four weeks and they are known for their spicy food. None-​the-​less, I thought I could more than handle a three star at this place… I was wrong…
My stomach and other areas… were very angry at me the next day. I also had a difficult time enjoying the meal because it was so spicy. This might have been a fluke since the Phad Thai and Red Curry were somewhat manageable… but the Pad See Ew tasted like it was straight from the devils anus… Very spicy, but still very good…

I ordered the curry and asked to substitute the meat with potatoes. I was given 3 small potato cuts, still charged full price. Also when I picked it up, the staff was uptight and seemed rude. The lady who took my money didn’t even look at me in my eyes once! Customer service needs work! Food was okay, had better curry in Beaverton.

No complaint to this hidden gem. I send Thai Peacock an email asking a few things on the menu. Message was quickly and politely replied.
When visited, this place had it all together, Atmosphere, service, food, drinks– a trip to Thai Peacock didn’t disappoint. I read some reviews and complaints about service here, I feel lucky we didn’t have the mentioned waitress wait on us. Our young waitress was attentive.
I feel bad for people who negatively experienced about the food here. Our family thought the food was so good. It’s set up to enjoy family style– dishes come out when they are hot instead off all together. Pad Thai is always a must. Pad GaPraw cannot be ignored. Evil Jungle Noodle cannot be missed, true comfort food !
Adding this to my list of «must visit» when I’m in town.

t’was a dark and stormy night — okay, not stormy… just rainy and darkness had just fallen, my old friend…
upon recs from the front desk at the courtyard, a quick eat24 pickup order was placed and short few block walk to pickup then back to my room with my goodies for dinner in hand.
the restaurant itself was ‘dorable…urban, hip, asian alleyway type of style.
food…good, perhaps better than good.
shitake thot — did not fair any part of travel — if i ever was to dine in, i would order again just to see if the app could be redeemed… mushroom, fried — yup yup.
gyoza — good and standard, which is just all. right by me.
tom yum soup (mild) — good and standard findings at decent ‘merican thai spots
pad wun sen (mild, beef) — yes, good and very satisfactory standard.
truth be, shamefully if i would have seen their 3.5 star rating before ordering — i would have easily talked myself out of placing an order — perhaps that is the reason for my bump up.
it was good and not disappointing… what more could i have needed tonight.

Had the mango curry — so delicious!!!
Ordered it mild, but was still spicy and had a nice kick — fresh mango and good quantity — delivery through GrubHub was quick and the food was hot and fresh!

The food is fine sometimes, actually great other times, but the service is rude and both me and my friend have been sick for three days from eating here. If you read the reviews farther down there are quite a few other complaints of food poisoning. This place needs to review its health safety procedures big time if it wants to keep its customers.

Best Thai I’ve had in Portland so far! really good curry and stir fries, pad see ew, and apps.
This is our go to spot.

This is the best Thai food I have found outside of Thailand! Their cocktails are delicious too. I had a pear one :)

As of writing, Thai Peacock has a 3.5 star rating, which I think is completely fair.
It’s tucked away in an unassuming building, but the lighting is beautiful inside. However, aside from that, not much sets it apart from many other Thai joints, or even a Thai food cart.
I felt as though the flavors were pretty standard, and the price a bit steep for the smaller portions. Whether or not it’s appropriate or «fair,» I can get two servings of the same dish at any number of places for the same price.
My girlfriend got the seafood curry and was pretty disappointed overall, as things didn’t taste particularly fresh. I had the Evil Jungle Noodles, which were alright.

A couple months ago a friend and I came here for happy hour and ordered a large assortment of things off the menu including the chicken satay. When that particular dish came out to us the chicken was still raw in the middle. Disgusted, we sent it back and said «it’s OK we don’t want it anymore» the server takes it and says that they will recook it and we again said that we didn’t want them. 10 minutes later he brings it back out and says «look, they gave you extra» which were the two pieces we had already bitten out of. We didn’t eat them obviously. We got our bill, they were on it. I haven’t been back since nor will I.

The curry was tasty but runny, I like a little thickness so it doesn’t run off the rice and I have to end up drinking it like soup.

We chose here very randomly, without looking for any food rating info., and it actually is a very lovely place to dine. The food was decent, the guy served us was very friendly. We’ll definitely go back there if visiting Portland again!

This is my favorite Thai food in the world. Great food with generous veggies and entrée, awesome location and atmosphere. The peacock curry with chicken is my favorite, super rich, sweet, and the chicken is always very tender.

I ordered delivery from Thai Peacock tonight based on their vegan-​friendliness (a friend recommended them) & was treated to some of, if not the most flavorful, well-​spiced Thai food I’ve had in Portland. I ordered the Evil Jungle Noodle dish with tofu & the Pad Ka-​Phrao stir fry with tofu (for both dishes I specified no fish sauce, oyster sauce, egg, meat). My stir fry’s tofu was shredded in a way that I’ve not seen before from Thai restaurants, & was my favorite component of either dish, although the Evil Jungle Noodle’s red curry/​peanut sauce dressing was a close runner-​up. For $ 21, the portions easily allow for three to four meals, & the small delivery fee & tip (GrubHub delivered my food much faster than the estimated 45 minutes) proved well worth it on a lazy rainy night. I look forward to trying more of Thai Peacock’s vegan options soon.

We stopped in her for an impromptu lunch rather than walking a few more blocks for the food trucks. The server had an attitude from the moment we walked in. She was very rude and abrupt and I don’ really know why.
We thought about leaving but thought we would stick it out. She did eventually warm up a bit but she was very off putting at first and actually made fun of me and acted like I was stupid when I asked her questions about their menu. It is a Thai restaurant — people may have a few questions about the food.
If that was my restaurant I would not like the first impression she is giving guests.
The food was ok — nothing special. The «salad rolls» do not have any meat in them. You cant get spring rolls with chicken or shrimp.
The Pad Thai was good — nothing special — I have had better and I have had worse.
Meh — don’t think we will be back.

Authentic Thai food in Portland! My favourite dish would have to be the Pad Thai. Everything was fresh and fresh off the wok.
The restaurant has a big open space inside with two levels and huge windows. Perfect for hanging out with friends while enjoying great food and a few beers. Staff are friendly and service are efficient.

The service is terrible. From the second we walked in we knew the service was going to be back. The server did not say hi, just said sit here. The restaurant has a great Atmosphere– it’s a small area with tables upstairs in a loft area too.
We ordered two small plates– lobster balls and deep-​fried crab. Both were strange and not very good. The pineapple-​chilli sauce that came with the lobster balls were delicious. There is very little lobster in the balls, mostly just dough. Strange.
We also had pa-​nang curry. We got medium heat– it was spicy! Hot tamale! But it was delicious (even tho a little too hot). I highly recommend it.
The experience was ok. But they definitely need to work on their service! And I recommend skipping the small plates :-)

A group of us recently went here for a weekend lunch and while the staff was very nice, the food was inconsistent with some dishes being downright terrible.
I won’t be going back.

I love this bustling joint. tHe hard working servers climbing up and down the stairs the authenitc food! As I age my palate toelrates less spice. Be warned, mild here is hot, and medium is Thai hot. WHEW!
I loved the larb, a traditional Thai salad with minced meat and mint and cabbage, fresh and crisp and the Tahi rolls were off the hook delicious! Crunchy, freh and served with a trifecta of wionderful sauce. The peanut sauce c’est magnifique.

She wanted me to sit at the counter window. No thank you! The place was only ¹⁄₃ full. I wanted to be properly seated. She was visibly annoyed and stomped away. Luckily, the waiters were nicer. I loved the lychee martini.

Quick: it’s after 4pm, all the Thai carts are closed, and your craving for pad phet can not be ignored. Where do you go?
Before I tried Thai Peacock, I’d have recommended getting in your car and driving to San Francisco. But now? Definitely head here immediately. Sure the atmosphere is a bit swankier and the food is a bit sweeter than those hole-​in-​the-​wall, mom’n’pop joints that you might be more inclined to trust, but the veggies are also much fresher and the silverware cleaner, so pick your poison.
From my experience, skip the appetizers and go straight for the entrees. Pad kee mao and pre-​ram are both delicious, and all of their curries are excellent, the gang dang (red) being the stand out in my book. And don’t forget the pad phet you came here for in the first place!
