The Angry Unicorn

The burger was okay but nothing special. I will however say I am not familiar with the area it could be the best burger in that part of town.

Was craving a burger and saw this place had good reviews on Unilocal.It was a rainy day and usually I would opt out of a food truck on a rainy day and rather head inside somewhere to eat instead, but the reviews were so good I just had to try it and boy am I glad I did! I was greeted by an incredibly kind human who was friendly and helpful. I ordered the first burger on the menu. I bought it to go and ate in my truck. After biting into it I quickly realized that there was Gorgonzola inside… Which I had not noticed on the menu when reading the ingredients. So that was an awesome surprise to my taste buds. As I was eating this amazing burger and waffle fries I thought to myself, this is missing something… it was missing vinegar. Oh! But alas, there hiding under those delicious waffle fries was a beautiful and equally delicious pickle spear! This burger was awesome! I even spilled my side of ketchup on my truck floor and didn’t care at all. That’s how good it was.

Needed a mid-​day snack and had the GREAT fortune to stumble onto this food truck… perfect! The Grilled Cheese was amazing and the Waffle Fries crispy & so perfect! When in Portland looking for a terrific food truck experience head to The Angry Unicorn… we’ll be back on our next visit!!!

I had ‘the jam’ and it was great. I’ve been passing by this place on my walk home for a while now and was finally hungry enough to stop by. The burger was very good, it wasn’t thin like many places make and it clearly wasn’t store bought. The meal came with an ample amount of waffle fries that were very crispy. Even the ones at the bottom has a nice crunch. The service was great too, the guy in the truck brought my food to me and suggested a beer to go with it.

I had the Unicorn burger, which is served on a glazed donut cut in half and grilled with a touch of maple syrup. It was surprisingly not too sweet, and the combination of sweet and savory was perfect. The beef patty itself was so good, clearly quality meat.
The guy running the cart actually came out and served the burgers to me and my wife and friends, and then went back and got us extra condiments and napkins. Quite possibly the best food cart experience I’ve had in a long while.

Seriously one of the best burgers I’ve ever had in my life. I know that sounds cliché, but I’m being honest. I got «The Best» burger and it was just smothered with deliciousness. The waffle fries for $ 1 were excellent as well, especially for the price.
But there’s also something to be said for the uniqueness of the place, and the best customer service you could ever expect from a food cart. Definitely worth a visit!

The husband and I both had to order the Unicorn Burger and split waffle fries. The burger was an amazing burst of so many flavors. I did not give a shit that I had maple syrup and grease dripping down my hands because it was that good.
The hubby didn’t talk for 5 min straight and happily finished mine off when I was too full to continue. You made him very happy.
I had been hoping to try the UnicornBallz but they were out. Hopeful for next time. Because of course I’ll be back.

Man, I wanted to love the Angry Unicorn. Instead, it was just okay.
The woman working in the truck was super friendly. Just a human ball of sunshine.
My burger… was not the best. I got the Bacon BBQ Burger ($ 8) and thought it was overcooked. I did enjoy the BBQ sauce.
I thought the fries were dry and flavorless.

In case you’re not familiar, the Angry Unicorn is a truck sitting in a parking lot full of food trucks. You can eat your grub at the tables adjacent to the Pod Bar next to the Angry Unicorn truck.

I had the unicorn burger and it was AMAZING … my husband got it for me and at first I thought it might be too greasy but then I bit it and it was just the juices from the awesome hamburger.

Super delicious food. Unicorn balls are nothing short of amazing and everything is so fresh and juicy! I had the Fun Guy burger and it was perfect, juicy meat, perfectly grilled mushrooms and melty swiss. Will definitely go again.

If you’re looking for a burger to ruin all other burgers, then the unicorn is a must try. I’ve yet to find the words to describe the deliciousness I experienced here.

Yummy! This burger was unlike anything I’ve ever had and my husband was jealous. I ordered the special and it was quite spicy. It included avocados and spicy cream cheese. It was delivered right to my table steaming hot with a ton of fries (which were seasoned and also delicious). This might be my new go-​to at the Foster food carts!

This place never stops amazing. The Best really is the best! I always end up eating the creation before I remember to take a picture.
I have not a once been disappointed or dissatisfied with the food OR service here. Any of the burgers (or fungi) on the menu, you can’t go wrong with.
Waffle fries are and have been back for a while now and they are the best treat with some ranch/​horseradish sauce that was concocted. All in all, The Angry Unicorn gives me the courage and sustenance required to live a normal life! I don’t eat here often enough.

I’m amazed I have yet to write a review for this astounding cart. One word to describe them: phenomenal!
My husband stumbled upon this place reading about them in a local food cart blog. And WHAT! They use a glazed donut as a bun for one of their burgers!?! Sounds like a ridiculous idea. So ridiculous, he had to try it. We didn’t have much expectations of the burger because, as mentioned above, the idea of using a donut as a bun is ludicrous.
Got it, took it home, and OH MY GOODNESS, it was the most magical moment my mouth ever experienced! The balance of the sweet «bun» and savory magical meat patty was one of the moments I will never forget. It is simply amazing.
We have returned back to John and the majestic Unicorn numerous times since then (bringing many friends along with us). We even had them catered our small wedding celebration over the summer.
Every time we come here, they never disappoint us… except when they are all sold out.
I could not say this enough, but The Angry Unicorn is truly amazing and highly recommended!

Unicorn ballwz and a delicious burger. Mmm. So angry unicorn uses brisket in their burger which adds to the wonderful flavors that burst out. I did dare one time to try the unicorn burger which is their meat with ground bacon in the patty and served on a glazed donut. Though my heart almost stopped I couldn’t stop eating it. So jump on the bandwagon and try one of their unicorn burgers and then just try a brisket burger. Throw in some sides to share with someone.
Try the Mac n cheez bawlz or the unicorn bawlz! They are delicious. They also serve up some decent waffle fries. Really you’re going to this cart for meat, but they make a portabella burger and wedges as well. I like that it’s located in carts on foster since most times they will bring you your food if you happen to drift into the pod bar. Besides what better than unicorn burgers than unicorn burgers and beer!

DE-​FREAKING-​LICIOUS.
And they throw in waffle fries for only a $ 1 with a burger order. Also, please dive mouth first into the unicorn bawlz…
Then to top it all off… The guy who runs things there has the GREATEST customer service.
AND… they use recyclable, earth friendly food storage practices.

Seriously delicious burger. It was damn near perfection. I had the Hottie burger with the waffle fries for $ 1 extra. Burger was top notch amazing. Ground beef with bacon ground up in it. All of the peppers were great & the cheese held it all together. I could go on & on, but just get you arse over to the Angry Unicorn & fill the burger void in your life. Great dude as well, very kind & accommodating.

Melty Meat Candy
I recently visited the pod and unfortunately my stomach was not feeling well. Nothing was tempting my hunger, but with all of my friends there I had to do something. One of my friends was pitching the Unicorn Burger to me and described it as melty meat candy. How can you say no to something like that?
I was afraid it would be a hot sticky mess, but the inversion of the donut helps give you something to hold on too. It’s sweet, it’s salty, its flavorful, it’s juicy. It’s got all those things that you want a burger to be.
I agree that the brisket bacon kind of dries out the patty, but when you have all the other ingredients with it you don’t even notice. Also the brisket adds a lot of elements to the burger you wouldn’t have otherwise.
Like most of the pod their hours are a little screwy so hopefully they are there when you go.

Great little food cart with great burgers. He is very creative with his toppings and his sides. I had the portobello fries! The favorite burger out of the 3 we ordered was the hottie. Even though it had jalapeños and other spicy looking toppings, it wasn’t all that spicy, just loaded with flavor.
By the way, he’s not angry, he’s very nice and you should go check it out for yourself.
