The Crown Ballroom

Just had my wedding and reception there and the venue is AWESOME. It’s definitely a little over the top (i.e. red walls, leopard print chairs, sparkly chandeliers, masquerade photos on the walls) but in a good way… you have to go check it out to see what I mean. My guests were impressed. The location is incredibly convenient as it is right downtown next to a Smartpark (and where both the max and the streetcar cross). Honestly, the only downfall is that there is no air conditioning. It was warm, but still bearable. The people who own and run the place, Julian and Raven, went out of their way to make sure our experience was the best it could be. The day of the event, they were both there making sure that everything ran smoothly… I had forgotten my flowers for the cake and they found some replacements right away; one of our vendors was late and they made calls for us and tracked them down. Finally, trust them to make your event special-​I gave Raven full creative freedom when setting up for the ceremony and it was absolutely beautiful (not to mention, she pulled it off in about 15 minutes). The associated catering staff (from Connor Catering) was also very attentive and professional, but we did work to tweak their menu offerings as their standard choices are a little ho-​hum. Matthew, the bartender was amazing-​request to work with him if you can. So I recommend you have your next fancy schmancy event at the Crown Ballroom-​you won’t be disappointed.
