We first came here about a month ago and were shocked that we were the only people here during lunch hour on a Saturday. At that visit, we were pleasantly surprised by our salads & sandwiches. Today, on the other hand, explained why there is never anyone else here. It took us over 15 min to order because their system was new and somehow what would cost $ 15 on the menu came out to $ 25. Another 15 min later they let us know that they ran out of salad mix. Finally, 10 min before my fiancé needed to be back at Drill, we got our lettuce + cheese salads and not toasted«roast beef melt». Not coming back here, which is a shame because we needed a go to place besides subway in this area.

The only reason this review is not set at a one star is because the food was actually edible. I work in the area so I decided to try this place out. Made an order to go, and $ 9.00 later, I had a sack lunch ready to go. I’m not going to go into too much detail here– the quality of the food here is what brings down the score. I don’t consider myself much of an elitist when it comes to food– but certain price brackets do come with their own set of expectations. At $ 9.00, I would expect the food to be reasonably put together. $ 9.00 is by no means a low end burger, and I felt like this was put together as such. I could taste the Kraft imitation Swiss cheese on my burger. The canned mushrooms. The cheap mayo carelessly holding the Sysco branded veggies together on a bun too small for the rest of the burger. The portion size was pretty big. But honestly, like what she said– Size isn’t everything.

Nice enough place. Basic burger joint aesthetic and menu. My burger was overcooked, so what’s the point of going here?

WORSTSERVICEEVER! Unless you are a hock wearing camo. Placed a take out order and had to wait 45 minutes extra after the time I was told to pick it up. Either staff more appropriately or don’t offer services you can’t fulfill. I will personally never eat or come to this establishment again. I say again, WORSTSERVICEEVER!

Portland college trip. This place looked pretty good… at least online. I ordered the chicken fried steak burrito, don’t recall the burrito my son ordered but it was more breakfast-y, and we shared gravy fries. His burrito looked better, but being from California… these burritos sucked. The tortillas were horrible, but I’m sure their access to good ones is limited. The burritos fell apart. My son doesn’t like gravy so we had it on the side of the fries. I’d say the gravy/fries were actually pretty good.

Despite the sign outside«Cruise in Deli», it’s really the Cruise in Diner, and worth a stop. Excellent burger was not a frozen patty! Chicken breast sandwich also above average. Waitperson was friendly, efficient and made us want to return. Best iced tea we’ve had while eating out. If you’re getting your car inspected at the DEQ or volunteering at the Oregon Food Bank, go here for breakfast or lunch.

I have been really wanting to try this place since I heard about the chicken fried steak burrito. I went last weekend but they were closed for labor day, so I waited another week. I was really looking forward to going this morning, so we went, and we enjoyed! I had the chicken fried steak burrito and it really was good. It was chopped chicken fried steak, scrambled egg, gravy, and hash browns wrapped in a tortilla. My friend had the french toast breakfast which she enjoyed. It came with two eggs over easy, hash browns and bacon. All of this with 2 sodas came out to $ 14.50, as we found out when the trouble began. As I tried to pay I handed over my credit card, the clerk fumbled with the credit card machine for a second then checked some wires on the back, then she turned to me and said, «Do you mind if I write down your credit card number so I can charge it later, the machine is broken.»(Im thinking ‘Yeah, make sure you get that number on the back too, and my mothers maiden name, and heres my address and do you want the name of the first street I ever lived on, how about my social?) I asked if they had an ATM, I was told they did, but it too was broken. I asked if there was an ATM nearby, she said she didn’t know. So here I am, after enjoying a nice breakfast driving though a very industrial part of Portland, an area not known for its convenience, and area I do not know, looking for an ATM because I was never told that theirs was out. The whole time my friend is sitting alone back at the restaurant, what if I had come alone? Even worse, is when three people that came in after us loudly stated to the host/waitress, «We want to put this on two cards.» And the waitress/host responded with«Ok, thats fine.» You will enjoy the food, you won’t enjoy the aggravation of looking for an ATM at 10am Saturday morning in an industrial area to which you have never been.

a friend of mine recommended I try this place & I’m glad I did! the chicken fried steak burrito is delicious & something that I have never seen offered anywhere else; I would definitely recommend people try it! their chili that tops the chili burger/chili fries is also pretty good & they definitely don’t skimp on the cheese & onions. they have great prices and all in all, I’m one happy camper.

The chicken fried steak burrito($ 6.25) is a life changer. $ 6 on Tuesdays — but maybe remind her bc I was charged the $ 6.25 on a Tuesday… Waitress cashier lady could stand to pretend to like being there. So I didn’t mention the quarter in hopes my burrito would come out unscathed. I’ve had several food things here and it’s delicious every time.

I got off of work and was thirsty. I had to pass the place on my way home. I’d been here before, had a milkshake once and breakfast once. Both times were great, the food quality exceeds the food prices. So when I stopped today, it was happy hour. I ordered a well rum and coke and it came in a mason jar. That’s major bonus points with me, feels blue collar, I like it. My gut was growling so I ordered some food. I was brave and ordered the dual carb burger. It was amazing. Hand pressed burgers, not frozen patties, more bonus points and some rather amazing fries. The girl working there this afternoon is fairly new, I believe she said she’d been there a month. She was very charming and took good care of us.

An incredible little spot! The staff rocks, the food is incredible and the homemade relish is outstanding! The diner is not on the traveled beaten path, it’s nestled next to a DEQ… Once discovered is awesome! Such an enjoyable treat after work! Check it out, guaranteed you’re not going to be sorry. Oh, I almost forgot, yes they have gaming machines…

Amazing burgers, great sides. I’ve heard raves about their breakfast food as well. It’s sort of in the middle of nowhere, but since I work just down the street it’s perfect! Affordable, delicious, great service — a true hidden gem!

Best burger I’ve had in years! Went in on a recommendation from(believe it or not) a tow truck driver who rescued me one day. Man was he right! It was a huge, sloppy, and flavorful burger! Will definitely fill any appetite. Con– the location is a bit… hidden? This is a gem in an industrial area. Wish more people could experience!

I’ve been here a few times, after the fund raiser for officer libke, I love the theme and atmosphere, they have amazing creations and a great attitude. I’ve tried a few things on the menu and have not found anything I don’t like, Large portions, Small prices. I drive 30 minutes(one way) to eat here. It’s that good!

Very good! My boyfriend and I stopped in after going to the DEQ. The only downfall of this place… in the middle of nowhere, so we will not be going nearby very often. Maybe have to make special trips out just to get good food. Anyway, I got the club and it came with Lays chips and my boyfriend got the chili burger with fries. For the price, both were good deals! I love that the club was cut in half and not in those tiny fourths that lots of places do… too small to eat! This was perfect. Crispy bacon was soo good. The chili burger was enormous and fries were good too. There were so many things on the menu that we wanted to try, so when we get time to head out that way, we will try more things. Great service too. Very friendly.

Delicious and deliciously affordable. 0.10c coffee! No refills, though. So if you need that second cup, it is gonna cost you a whole extra dime. LOL. I had a very very good bacon swiss burger. ½ lb of FRESH burger. Served with fries. Everything was fresh and excellent. I really want to try the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast burrito next. This was highly recommended. They serve Breakfast and Lunch/Dinner all day. Lots of options. Also noteworthy– they have a full bar, with HH specials. Cruise In Diner is a really nice, clean place nestled in a tiny row of businesses. Very pleasant people working here. HELPFULHINT– *I was a little confused trying to sort out the location when I finally realized it is right next to the DEQ out on NE33rd, right off NE Columbia. Which is also across the street from the Oregon Food Bank warehouse* The location is really the only thing going against this place. If it was somewhere in a more«hip» location I think there would be people lining up to eat.

Loved the Southwest Burger. These are great diner-style and creative burgers for the price. Friends with us loved the Patty Melt. If I worked in the area, this would be a go-to place for me.

Good food for a good price. After debating with a co worker about getting breakfast we went over to this place. Called it in so it would be ready when we walked in. Ordered the B+G breakfast. B+G were good, bacon was good, eggs were good, and the hash browns that we ordered extra were good. We split the plate of food so we would not be lethargic after eating and it was the perfect amount of food to start the day.
