The Eye Clinic P.C. has a long tradition of offering quality eye care to the residents of the greater metropolitan Portland area. Established in 1949 by Drs. Charles Browning, J.B.V. Butler, and Merrill Reeh, we now have two convenient locations with highly trained and experienced opticians to serve you. We offer comprehensive general ophthalmologic care by Board-​certified physicians and surgeons. Our services include fitting, diagnosis, medical treatment, and laser treatment of eye diseases. We also have a large selection of frames and specialty lenses at affordable prices.

Our doctors and contact lens technicians offer many years of experience in all aspects of contact lens design and fitting. Since the doctors and technicians are always aware of the newest in contact lens technology, our office can offer you the best of what is available. Whether you need contacts for everyday, sports, certain medical conditions, or something different, The Eye Clinic is here to meet your needs.

Meet the Business Owner

Dr. John H. W.

Business Owner

Dr. John Wilkins earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Stanford University in California, and his medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. He went on to an Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Providence Hospital & Medical Center in Portland. Dr. Wilkins then continued his training with a Residency in Ophthalmology at Oregon Health Sciences University before completing a Fellowship in Cornea, External Diseases, and Uveitis at the Francis I. Proctor Foundation of the University of California, San Francisco.

A Diplomate of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Board of Internal Medicine and National Board of Medical Examiners, Dr. Wilkins has been President of The Eye Clinic since 2002.
