Like most of the other reviewers of The Kache, I was excited to have a cool bar open in the area. Unfortunately, I don’t think the bar as it is now qualifies as cool, and judging by the lack of patrons, nobody else does either. My experience mirrored that of many other reviewers… Aside from my girlfriend and I, the owner was the only person drinking in the bar. The bartender was friendly enough, but the atmosphere was pretty awkward.

Good décor. Bartender was nice. Been by a few times and the self-proclaimed owner was pretty drunk, lounging with her feet on the bar. I’d like to be a regular and was glad to have a nice looking place in the neighborhood, but was put off by the owner sloshing about in her nearly empty bar.

LOVE this bar! Creative cocktails(I expected to pay quite a lot more for) The owners are extremely friendly and cool… I recently moved to the area and was drawn in by the soup of the day ‘Whiskey’ sign out front! Definitely returning for the atmosphere, perfect Long Island and accommodating staff… Thank you for being so awesome Kache:-)

This place looks really nice inside. The drinks, food, and staff are great! Pool tables and plenty of TV’s. We will be coming back!

Cool bar. Good food. Pool tables, lots of TV’s and friendly staff. Whiskey is the«soup of the day» which is what got me to stop here after driving by 457 times. No Pendelton though… but the owner is smoking hot, so that totally makes up for it! :)

Super friendly neighborhood bar. I like to go here weekdays for the happy hour till midnight and breakfast served late as well. One of the only places deep sandy blvd for late night breakfast. The owner Kayla is also super sweet

What. just…happened? We walked into this place and we were greeted by an incredibly intoxicated(by what exactly, I’m still unsure) woman who walked up to us, waving her cell phone back and forth across her face and saying«I’m not serving you. I’m the owner. That’s why I hired a bartender but she’s cooking right now.» After that delightful greeting, we were then told by the bartender that she was new and didn’t know if they had the ingredients for a Moscow Mule because«Labor day weekend» cleaned us out(Labor day was almost a week ago, folks). We decided to leave and politely let her know we were canceling our drinks. Upon hearing this, the«owner,» in a sloppy drunk, snotty tone said«See you tomorrow!» at our backs as we walked out. I don’t know who bought this lady a bar but unless she gets her act together, she won’t be playing bar owner for long. Shame, too because I would have loved to have an upscale bar within walking distance.

Sarah is the best bartender ever! She was so helpful, friendly, and made amazing margaritas. Love, love, love. Will definitely come back. We also ordered the chicken tenders with tots. Really good. Nice music, atmosphere, and had some good games of pool. Great place. Sarah makes this place somewhere where I’d love to return to again and again. Good music. Sunday night football, great service. What more could you ask for?!

I wanted to get some food, waited an hour then decided the obnoxious techno music was too much. I hate to say it, but i don’t see a future for this place… this comment has been restrained for humanitarian reasons.

Nice space in an otherwise cool bar dry area. I can see myself strolling over to this bar from my house on a regular basis. Went in on a weeknight just to try it out. Service was kind of odd and the menu DEFINITElY needs some firming up as we were shown three different menus and not all items were available… or as advertised when ordered. I’ll give it some time to get settled and will be back.

To echo what a few reviewers have stated on here, the joint is new and has a few kinks to work out, BUTWEFINALLYHAVE A DECENTSPOTINTHENEIGHBORHOOD. Let’s keep the trend rolling and keep Kache around… My lady and I ducked in last week to check it out and found a very cheerful, welcoming bartender named Chelsea(sp?) behind the bar… she nearly immediately had beers and whisky in front of us and menus in our hands. The place wasn’t full, but definitely not empty, and she was making the rounds pretty well, checking on things. We scored some tots and started checking the place out… pretty chill atmosphere, couple of pool tables and great TVs, cozy window seating as well. Tots were magical as were the second and third whisky and we found ourselves settling in quite nicely. We had the chicken/veggie/rice dish and it was pretty alright… especially for a new joint on Sandy. Nice conversation with Chelsea, good chats with some other customers equally excited about a new bar, and some promises made to come back in. As Claudia said, they need to figure out their scheme of ordering, whether to wait for the bartender or just check in at the bar with an order(which honestly most everyone is fine with), and maybe take out a bar stool or two… they’re a little awkward to maneuver and the arm rests make it kind of difficult to get out without your neighbor moving when the bar is full. The place has great prices. We made out for under what I anticipated. And the whisky pours are spot on. I generally judge bars by how they pour a shot of whisky, and the Kache earns Aces. We’re stoked this place has come along and will surely be coming back in to try more eats and drinks. We’re looking forward to seeing Kache progress, so don’t be shy, get in there and have a boozy treat and get to know your new neighborhood bar.

A new local bar — Awesome! I had to give it a try. They are certainly new and figuring out what will work for them — and I really like that they flat-out acknowledge this fact. They seem to be really looking for feedback about what’s working and what’s not so that they can make a place that people will want to return to regularly. Things I loved: — The friendliness of the staff. Everybody was incredibly nice and genuine. — The mango mojito that our server suggested. It was delicious. — Chips & salsa and jello shots brightened my day while I waited for the entrees — They have food for my various moods. Standard pub fare like burgers for when I’m feeling greasy, and healthier options like roasted chicken with sauteed vegetables and brown rice. Now that is a place that has potential for luring me in regardless of my mood! — The mac and cheese with bacon was very flavorful and tasty, though I would have the cheese sauce just a bit thicker if I was in charge. My partner had roast chicken(with veggies and brown rice) and enjoyed it very much as well. I am excited to come back and try the various salads, burgers, and other fare. — The value is great! We got tons of food and drink for quite cheap and with a lot of enjoyment. — They cushioned seats along the windows(the windows also have really cool coverings that make for good atmosphere) Things that they are [hopefully] working on: — The customer service flow hasn’t found it’s groove yet. It’s unclear what the proper plan of attack is if you want to sit and have dinner with your drinks(rather than saddling up to the bar). The servers/bartenders get busy and you can watch them as the flow takes a while to return. Having been on the opening team of some cafes in my past, I completely understand this issue and expect it to work itself out over time. — As mentioned in Things I Loved, the mac and cheese was just a smidge runnier than I personally would prefer. It is possible that it is just my personal preference, but I would guess that others might agree. It could be useful for them to try out a few different versions of some recipes to guage which has the best responses, since they seem to be testing a lot of the menu out anyway. I’m excited to see how this bar settles into our neighborhood. They will definitely see me again!

Okay, fellow Unilocalers: If you are really excited about new local businesses and you really understand that new places go through some growing pains, how about not giving them one or two stars because your experience wasn’t so great? Please cut them some slack and be a bit more generous. I just stopped by there for a quick beer($ 3 Breakside IPA, very nice!) on a Saturday afternoon, so I can’t speak to their food or service when things get busy. But for now I’m giving the Kache five stars because service was quick and friendly, the beer is good and cheap, and the place looks great. I like that there is a lot of open space, and the pub has a very nice neighborhood feel to it. TVs look good as well, and I look forward to parking my butt on one of those chairs come football season. Welcome to Roseway!

The place is a bit awkward if you are going in to sit and eat. It’s new so the layout is bound to come to together. Took awhile to get noticed for service. We ordered food but they were out of several choices. Overall this place has some growing pains going on and we will come back in three months and see if things have improved.

We have been here 4 times now. There is no question they are still working out the bugs associated with a brand new open. However, I’m impressed. I am impressed with their Healthy/Hungry menu, I am impressed with the comfort/atmosphere, I am impressed with the caliber of the staff. I am impressed with their prices. There are good reasons we keep coming back. I welcome them to our neighborhood.

I was happy to see a new place open in our neighborhood and we love to support local business so we went for lunch today. Including us there were 5 people in the place. They alerted us immediately the power had just gone out. Okay, giving them the benefit of the doubt we decided we’ll order salads. Well, we sat there and sat there and sat there. The owner never acknowledged us actually she pretty much ignored us, no one came over to ask for our drink order or give us any water to start. So as much as we wanted to support this local joint, it’s hard to support a place that lacks any customer service. It has potential but ignoring paying customers is a fast way to go out of business. I wish them luck.

The Kache is a brand new bar in the Roseway neighborhood. I had the fortune to hear about their soft opening on Monday, and dropped in. Co-owner Mike greeted me with a handshake, and told me co-owner Kayla had just stepped out but would be right back. The décor and atmosphere right away felt very friendly and comfortable. Music playing on the sound system, pool being played, friendly conversation at the bar. You would never have known this was opening night — the staff knew what they were doing — fast, friendly service with big smiles. The food is exceptional — both«hungry and healthy» items on the menu. Everyone quickly became friends — the bar staff asks your name, introduces you to the rest! Everyone is treated like a regular! I will definitely be back — prices are low, huge liquor selection, good conversation, pool — count me in!
