The Laughing Pup Dog Walking & Pet Sitting

As a busy veterinarian who has to be away from 4 high-​maintenance fur-​children more often than I’d like, I have found the Laughing Pup to be top-​notch in thoroughness, carefulness, communication, and service! I am so thankful to have found the Laughing Pup, and so are Frankie, Danny, Pablo, and Felix. I also want to be clear that even though I’m a veterinary professional, this is an unsponsored, unsolicited review. My only bias is from my personal experience with the overnight dog and cat care I received!

I’m new to the dog walking thing; for the last several years my man and I have had schedules that more or less avoided dual long days and rushed evenings. But given the turns life has taken, and my increasing stress levels at having to rush home and take the dog out immediately every evening, I decided hiring a dog walker a couple of days a week would be money well spent.
It is indeed, and I’m thrilled to have found The Laughing Pup and Shane’s crew! I tried several other well-​rated services on Unilocal first and absolutely no one called or emailed me back. Then I randomly saw a flyer for TLP; the search and the wait ended up being worth it!
First, TLP’s website is fantastic for ease of information and online scheduling. I filled out a form or two and heard back from Shane via email almost immediately to schedule an initial meet-​and-​greet visit. Once you’re in the system, you can access and update your pet’s information, change the schedule, and so on. As someone who prefers online portals for managing information, this is fantastic — and TLP’s is one of the only such websites I ran across during my dog walking searches.
Second, TLP’s vibe is also excellent: warm, friendly, and very pet-​focused. Our dog likes people, but he isn’t usually an attention fiend; he says hello and then goes back to resting (as a nine-​year-​old dog would). But when Shane showed up for the intro visit, Syd stuck to his side and made an immediate connection. Shane was very patient while listening to all our (overly detailed!) details about Syd’s habits and preferences, and I can tell he takes his animals quite seriously and appreciates each one as a unique individual.
Third, Syd’s happy (and therefore so am I). He’s an older dog so doesn’t really need long outings to run off much energy, but I can tell he’s happier and calmer when I get home on dog walking days. And now I don’t have to feel rushed to get home and take him out immediately, and he doesn’t pester me for it as he would’ve in the past. Winning!
TLP provides a variety of services; they have three walks ranging from twenty minutes ($ 15) to thirty-​five minutes ($ 22) to an hour ($ 32), plus dog sitting options (daily visits or overnight). They’ll visit your cats too, and I’m sure Shane could work out any random details or additions you might need. The contract and fees are all very clear and reasonable, with extremely last-​minute walks or cancellations incurring an extra charge (fair enough!). Communication has been incredibly prompt, and your TLP dog walker even leaves a short report on the day’s walk (what did they do, what time did they visit, etc).
I’m a detail-​oriented person, and I really appreciate TLP’s balance of precision and old-​fashioned care. We’ve clearly found the perfect people to brighten Syd’s day; he’s wagging his tail just thinking about it!
