Great music almost every night from all forms of music to all kind of exceptional food to choose from. Support all local music and musicians. Great owners and operators! One solid place to visit in the area!

I have always LOVED The Lehrer! It has everything that a bar should have. A stage for live music which I believe The Lehrer has 6 nights a week, a large dance floor, pool tables, tons of seating, video poker and lottery games, food and drink, and the best part is the great customer service! I do however have to agree with Lesa’s remark from her post on 5/15…she really does need to ditch the snarky Portland attitude.

Brad Leher is trying to do something heroic here in scenic Beaverton, Orygun! Supporting LIVEMUSIC in PDX! I have been hanging out here for over 2 years and have seen/heard most all of the best, Blues/Soul R&B Funk musicians and groups in PDX and some incredible national touring acts. Most of the week NOCOVER! As in FREE! Even the cover charges are worth every cent. You don’t see bad bands working here. They are all local pro players, who you want to support anyway, if you are coming out to see them. How much do you throw in your gas tank and never think twice about it. I eat here and drink here all the time. Everybody takes care of me. I could go across or down the street to do that for better or worse, cheaper or more expensive. I want to support«My Club» you know? It supports the local Musicians and Music Scene. I want the Leher to succeed for the most selfish reason; I LOVEMUSIC. I would be heartbreaking NOT to see the Leher grow and flourish as a business. It is a local entertainment and employment resource. It is an important cog in a much bigger wheel that drives all of us in some way. It is the only thing like it on the West side for sure, and would leave a huge hole regionally for working artists at a minimum. Not mention food, beverage and restaurant supply vendors, etc down the line. The music generated by the Jam Session over the last 6 months in particular has been incredible! The«Talent Bench» here in Portland is long and deep! Now that Brad has been forced to suspend the«FREE» jam sessions, it has left a giant rip in on our local cultural fabric. How people who probably like music too… because they are sitting in their little boxes watching American Idol, The Voice or America’s got talent?, on the TeeVee… can’t walk a few blocks to see the REALTHING?. It’s a mystery. Please look for the monthly calendar of FaceBook and pick one night with your favorite band. Go out and get aerobic on the dance floor… instead of sitting on your fat butt eating crap, watching the freakin’ Bachelor! You don’t have to eat burgers… I get the big salad with grilled chicken on it! Please help save OUR club! Or someday you will have a reason to go party with your old friends… and there won’t be anyplace to go!!!

Perfect spot for baby boomer dancers like me who never grew up! Great Blues Bro’s band with roots back to original Band discovered by John Belushi in Eugene, OR while filming Animal House Amazing to hear them LIVE! Exactly the same sound as the film!

Great place to see live music on the SW side of town. Very large space and plenty of booths. Large dance floor to bust a move or you can just chill and people watch. The burgers are good and the bartender can rock a drink. All and all a great opportunity to support live music, one of Gods greatest gifts… music

I think I’ve been in Portland too long. I now get annoyed when ordering wine at a bar and I’m only given flavors or colors. «Really? I have a choice of Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio and a red blend? Yum!» That’s my sign I should order white anything(or beer); the red has probably been sitting on a shelf waaaayyyyy too long. That’s the Leher. It’s an old people’s blues not-quite-club. The average age of patrons was high 50’s or 60’s. It was fairly busy, with not a tattoo or piercing in sight(earrings on women don’t count). It’s sanitized strip mall clean with a huge dance floor and good sized stage. We sat in a booth next to a window and it was light enough to read a small-print book(but you need that when you’re old). Supposedly they serve food as well(we saw some being delivered) but there are no menus on the table, the waitress never brought us menus, she never asked us about opening a tab, nor did she offer that food was available(or menus, if they have them). But the music was good, with lots of mushy white people dancing. Maybe this is the Beaverton experience and I need to ditch the snarky Portland attitude.

Hole in a wall with a funny bartender. This place serves the older generation, a lot of cute old people trying to be hip. Keeping this place in mind for when I am older! Service is good, food is just pub/bar food. Nothing too fancy.

SW Portland best kept secret! Lots of micro brew on tap, full bar, excellent pub food, lottery, dance floor and live music. Who needs more?

I went to see the live music for the 2nd time at the Leher. The 1st time surprised that they charge a cover and disappointed in cold minestrone. Tonight I lasted 10 minutes because not only is the food and service mediocre to bad, tonight I discovered they are charging for water. Water!!! I refuse to pay for something that comes out if a tap for free. I will go see the band I like at other places where there is no cover and I don’t feel nickel and dimed. That’s just bad business.

If it’s crowded be patient. Nice big place but short on staff. Great music and friendly atmosphere. A big plus to the west side!

Its kind of unfair for me to post a review based on my 1 visit last night for The Strange Tones show, so please, understand that I will be returning and updating this based on that experience. Brad is a very hands on owner, highly visible and interacting with his customers.
His staff is top notch, real pro’s who showed their stuff last night handling a capacity crowd, there was a huge birthday party going on coinciding with the show. A number of tables were reserved for the party, but Miz Mona and I arrived an hour early for the show and were able to secure a 2 top bordering the dance floor. The drinks were first rate, the bartenders attentive, but because they were short staffed the service was slow. We waited an hour and for a sandwich and a salad. After waiting 45 minutes I approached the bartender who had taken our order and she apologized profusely and expedited our food. I found it difficult to understand why they only had one cocktail waitress working(I noticed the bartenders were out on the floor helping to deliver drinks) if they were anticipating a large turn out. The place is a great venue for live music, something we are desperately short of here on the West Side and I really want to become a regular here, so I will be back to see how things run on normal night and I genuinely hope I will be able to add a star or two to my next review

It’s what you expect for a bar to be. You won’t be moved and you won’t go running to tell your friends about it either. It’s one if the places you go when you’re in a crunch and need to come up with something at the drop of the hat. There’s a great variety of live bands that come through this place. Look at the bar’s calendar and I’m sure you’ll be able to find something that wets your whistle. The food and drinks are standard as well.

A FunFabulous Place for dining, music, meeting friends for a drink amd having fun. Clean and fresh with lots of room, Food is fantastic, a huge dance floor with live music many nights of the week done with a sound system where people at tables can still easily visit if they so choose. Two pool tables are also availalbe for use as well as outside seating in front. Servers are prompt, and friendly. Plenty of parking.
